Managed by Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, Long Lake sits within the campgrounds around Seep Lakes area, a network of state fish and wildlife lands in the Columbia Basin east of the Cascades. The campground is dispersed, meaning sites are informal and spread along the lakeshore rather than numbered or assigned. Access is open year-round by car, boat, or on foot.
The road in is unpaved and washboarded, and multiple reviewers flag it as rough enough to rattle your teeth, though it remains passable by standard sedan without four-wheel drive. Once at the lake, sites are well-separated. Charlotte F. describes the layout as "very private and spread out," with makeshift fire pits at each site. Large fish are regularly visible in the water, and pelicans, bullfrogs, and other wildlife have been noted by multiple visitors. Note that fire bans are in effect during dry months, and the area is very dry in summer, so check current restrictions before building a fire.
Trash is a recurring issue. Several reviewers found cigarette butts, broken glass, and bagged garbage at or near their sites. The outhouses are present and stocked, but positioned away from most camping spots, which some visitors find inconvenient. A Discover Pass is required for entry, either a $11.50 day pass or $35 annual pass. Verizon and AT&T users report decent cell coverage on site. Campers wanting a more developed setup nearby can look at Heart Lake or Lyle Lake as alternatives within the same area.
