Great camp for spring / fall

Clean area with toilets. Scenic views and great hike around the lake. Fishing options. Not great for swimming. May be windy. Too hot in summer, great for spring / fall. Free camping, but may be hard to find a spot.

Nice, lots of available sites for tents or RVs

Spent a few nice days here mid-May in our swags, got the best campsite late Saturday which was a bit of luck. It's clean, quiet and pretty spread out. Hiked the ancient lakes trail and dusty lake. Didnt see anyone on the trails and didn't see or hear rattler. I will come back here but only in the spring.

pretty oasis in the desert

I have fished and camped here a few times, different parts of the lake(s). Last time I went there was a site that had trash and human feces, so we went to a different site that was cleaner. Every site is pretty out in the open, so not a lot of seclusion but most sites are dispersed enough from each other. I like that it is free, and the fishing is good, mostly perch and punkin seed that I've caught. Bring lots of your own water, it gets really hot and dry. I did almost get bit by a leech, so be careful in the water. Also lots of stagnant water means lots of mosquitos, so don't forget your bugspray and citronella.

Get hikes and good sites on the water.

I went with two of my friends and we were able to find an open area on one of the lakes. It is a great place the only reason for a 4 star is because it can get really busy.

SiteNo site but at the very last lake
