New, smaller park with all the amenities. Level concrete pads will accommodate RVs up to 40 feet. All are back in sites with sewer, city water, 20/30/50 amp power, cable TV, and WiFi included. South Main RV Park

Good for proximity to NRG stadium

My husband and I came to the Houston rodeo and stayed here strictly for proximity to the stadium. The RV park did have a shuttle which was very nice to get us to and from. Most sites are large enough for big rigs, you do have to park on the gravel right in front of your rig which can be tight. Nice concrete pads at each site. Traffic can be loud and there are many full-time set ups here with permanent residents. Has a gate with a code so it did feel safe at night. Small dog park that could use some extra TLC. Laundry on premises, no play ground, good wifi and Verizon service.

    Stella Mare RV Resort

Close to Galveston but still quiet

Month long stay, $730, water, 50 amp. End of October/beginning of November the park is booked out as well as during warmer months. Half of the facilities washers and dryers didn't work. Staff is great about communicating lawn days and other news for long term guests. Trash valet and 2 free parking spots. 2 dogs parks, one for large and another for smaller dogs.

Grand Pines of Texas RV Resort

Three Years New Campground with a Great Staff and Extra Amenities

I was surprised this campground had not been reviewed.  We stayed here in Jan '24 on the way to Houston for business.  Grand Pines is located on I-10 southeast of Beaumont TX.  Sites are all full hook-up, back-in concrete 60' x 20' leaving room for us to park our tow car. Grand Pines has high speed WIFI and free laundry facilities.  Grounds were well kept when we were there. Sites are a bit close together. They may now have more long term usage than transient. Still, it is a great stop over to catch up on domestic duties.

    Houston East RV Resort

    Beautiful Landscaped Sites

Ok these are all premium sites, resort is easy off and on i-10. Gated resort, nice sites, roads are all nice concrete, with concrete parking pads for RV and or tow vehicles. The sites are nicely landscaped, grass, trees, picnic tables, full hookups, include cable and wifi. It is located right off and beside i-10, so there is road noise, but everything food, restaurants, shopping, is all nearby. It's a great stop if traveling i-10 passing through. Oh they also have covered RV sites should you want to beat some of that sunshine off your rig in summer heat. There is a small pool that is nice, and a lake behind campground so one row of sites has lake views. We just took a pull through site under the canopy of trees, it's very nice!

    Southlake RV Resort

    Nice clean park

The park is VERY clean and also quiet! It’s close to everything so thats a major plus. However it does have A LOT of rules. Also, a lot of long term residents live here. The back in spots are a little tight so if you’re not great at backing in just get a pull through. The facilities are immaculate . It’s been worth the price so far.

Guide to Seabrook

Seabrook, Texas sits at an elevation of just 10 feet above sea level along Galveston Bay, making it highly susceptible to coastal weather patterns. The subtropical climate creates hot, humid summers with temperatures regularly exceeding 90°F, while winters remain relatively mild. RV camping near Seabrook offers convenient access to both freshwater and saltwater activities with several parks positioned within a 30-minute drive of the Houston metropolitan area.

What to do

Beach access: Bolivar Peninsula RV Park provides a convenient base for beach activities. According to Stephanie J., "Beautiful area, for 10.00 you can tent camp on the beach and your pass is good for the season. The RV park is great, but camping on the beach was an awesome exercise. You can also drive on this beach."

Fishing opportunities: Visitors to Jamaica Beach RV Resort can enjoy multiple fishing options. One camper notes, "It has 2 separate laundry areas and several spots to just relax. We also saw chickens, horses, cattle, ducks, cranes, fish, and a lot of turtles."

Water recreation: The multiple pools at Jamaica Beach RV Resort keep kids engaged all day. A reviewer mentioned, "This is a nice RV park - the sites are close together but they are level and give you full hook ups. There are multiple pools, putt putt golf and a lazy river."

Birdwatching: The coastal location attracts diverse bird species. One camper at Jamaica Beach RV Resort shared, "Walk to bayside for birdwatching (resort's property) and walk to beach! Great staff, all the amenities you could want!"

What campers like

Privacy from crowds: Dellanera RV Park offers a quieter beach experience. A camper reported, "Love this park. We've been twice and will go again. Very clean, spacious, and literally steps from a private beach. Great location, close to the fishing pier and all Galveston has to offer."

Concrete pads: Most RV parks in the area feature concrete pads for stability. At Dellanera RV Park, a reviewer noted, "Full hookups with level concrete pads. Enough space between for a picnic table."

Dog amenities: Pet owners appreciate the dedicated dog facilities. At Bolivar Peninsula RV Park, one camper shared, "We stayed for a month March 2021 and chose this place because it was the only rv park with a big dog area our german shepherds could run energy off on. Highly recommended!"

Proximity to attractions: The location between major destinations is valued. According to a camper at Lake Side RV Resort, "The location in Kemah is walking distance to several good restaurants and musical entertainment. Across the street is Clear Lake Shores. A bayside community with boats."

What you should know

Weather considerations: The coastal position means salt exposure. A camper at Dellanera RV Park mentioned, "Other thing to consider. We had a constant 15mph wind, so awnings were flapping, and your car and camper get covered in a salty residue."

Site spacing: Some parks have limited space between units. At Big Spot RV Resort, a camper noted, "We stayed here several times and and a GREAT place, clean restrooms, pool area and hot tub. Nice friendly staff, short drive to Galveston Island."

Tent restrictions: Not all RV parks accept tent campers. A reviewer at Dellanera RV Park stated, "No tents allowed and lady was quite rude about it."

Internet reliability: Connectivity can be unreliable. According to one camper at Dellanera RV Park, "Internet is very sketchy. Can have lots of skeeters on lagoon side."

Tips for camping with families

Pool facilities: Jackie's Place RV Resort offers water recreation for families. A reviewer shared, "A brand new RV resort that has concrete pads, full hook-up sites, a sparkling pool and guest lounge, general store and a pool table!"

Entertainment options: Jamaica Beach RV Resort provides diverse activities. A camper noted, "The park runs activities all day for the kids but most are already engaged in one of the pools. We went with another family and got sites that faced each other."

Proximity to attractions: Family-friendly activities are nearby. One visitor to Jackie's Place RV Resort mentioned, "Located between Galveston and Houston, minutes from the Kemah Boardwalk, nestled on a quiet little road you will find Jackie's Place RV Resort."

Budget-friendly options: Some parks offer reasonable rates. A reviewer at Jackie's Place RV Resort stated, "We paid $40 a night. We've stayed at other campgrounds in the area for less money but none were as nice as this."

Tips from RVers

Access considerations: Some parks have tricky entry points. A camper at Lake Side RV Resort shared, "Getting there the first time is a tad shaky. As you pull in, natural inclination is to go to the right ... which is wrong. You have to go left to be able to hit the sites correctly."

Site selection: When camping at Jamaica Beach RV Resort, strategic site selection matters. "We went with another family and got sites that faced each other. Made things really helpful and gave us a little more space than normal."

Seasonal stays: RV camping near Seabrook attracts long-term visitors. According to a camper at Tropical Gardens RV Park & Resort, "It appears that a large percentage of RVs are there on monthly rates. We met one person who was working at one of the refineries which explains the early morning activity with cars leaving."

Economical options: Value-conscious RVers have choices. A reviewer at Tropical Gardens RV Park noted, "Full hook ups for 25 a night which was half the price of the other RV parks in the area. RV spots are tight but manageable."
