Great rv campground close to airport

Great campground with wonderful staff who are very friendly. Full hookup, paved sites with heated saltwater pool and hot tub, workout facilities, clubhouse with games and puzzles, laundry facilities, a small camp store, and pet friendly with two small dog parks. The best thing about the location is that it backs up to Tom Bass park that has wonderful dog parks along with playgrounds and frisbee golf. Would definitely be staying here again!

      Traders Village RV Park

Houston, Tx…..Nothing to get excited about

It’s a large campground and spaces are very small. There’s a grass strip between camp sites. No picnic tables or grills. The office gave us a map and showed us how to get to our site but virtually impossible to understand. A very nice gentleman that stayed here took us to our site. He said they have no idea how to do directions and a buddy of his really messed up his camper by trolling around looking for their site. It’s very crowded and no room for awnings or for both campers side by side to put out awnings. There is a pool but it doesn’t look well maintained and there’s absolutely no chairs. Just the pool and it’s small. Laundry room is large. There’s no dog park or anywhere to walk your dog. Signs everywhere that say no pets, yet they are allowed. The flea market is only on the wknd. It’s close to a lot of restaurants and in a nice area.

      Beachside RV Park

      Best place in Bolivar Peninsula

This was such a blissful place to start my Texas snowbird trip. As a solo female traveler in a campervan I felt so incredibly safe and welcomed to this campground. Nancy and Butch are the kindest campground hosts I've ever encountered. They ensured to check in with me regularly during my two week stay, the bathroom, shower and laundry facilities were maintained consistently, and the dog park and closeness to the beach was perfect for my dog's daily exercise. For the reasonable price, I felt this campground delivered above and beyond. If I hadn't scheduled another campground, I would have stayed longer. Thank you to all at Beachside RV. You made my stay memorable.

      Bolivar Peninsula RV Park

      Still needs work

Pros: office lady very nice, site 1 has 1 tree for shade, ferry w/ our travel trailer from Galveston Island was easier than expected, large dog park, close to Camp Margaritaville.

Cons: gravel sites, bathroom super gross with no TP, dirt rv road kicks up lots of dust, right on noisy highway.

      A lot of Amenities

The park is clean, but the sites are tight. The further you get to the front the louder the traffic noise is, but the sites are larger and spaced out more. It is a five and take. It has three locations with washer and dryers, two dog parks, a recreation room and easy access to Tom Bass park.

      Beachside RV Park

      Affordable, Convenient, Amenity Rich

This is the nicest RV Park on the Bolivar Peninsula / Crystal Beach area. Truly. So well maintained, and quiet peaceful setting.

We were surprised that it had a nice dog park, indoor laundry, shower, wifi, gazebo for hanging out in and more, all included in the rate!

      Close to the beach.

Walk to the gas station and restaurants.

They are running a winter special.

    Guide to Seabrook

Dispersed camping at Bolivar Flats sits along the Gulf coast northeast of Seabrook, Texas. The area experiences a humid subtropical climate with hot summers where temperatures regularly exceed 90°F and mild winters with occasional cold fronts. The flat beachfront terrain allows camping directly on the sand with proper preparation for coastal conditions and potential high winds coming off Galveston Bay. Tidal patterns affect beach width and camping areas throughout the day.

    What to do

Beach fishing at dawn: At Bolivar Flats Dispersed Camping, the morning hours offer productive fishing opportunities directly from shore. "Great time fishing here," notes Patricia, who visited the area and enjoyed the ease of access to Gulf waters.

Evening walks with pets: The fishing pier across from Big Spot RV Resort provides an excellent spot for sunset strolls with leashed dogs. "Fishing pier available short walk across the street," mentions Walter L., who appreciated having a designated walking area near the water.

Bird watching: Coastal wetlands around Galveston Bay attract diverse bird species throughout the year. "Pool is located next to Jarbo Bayou for birdwatching, kayaking and fishing," reports Pat M. about Brickhouse RV Resort, highlighting the natural observation opportunities in the area.

Kayaking: Protected bayous and calm waters provide paddling options for all skill levels. Bring your own equipment or check with campground offices about rental options nearby. "We took our inflatable boat out on the bay, went fishing (no license needed at a state park) and went to the Oceanside beach," shares Ashley C. about her experience at Galveston Island State Park.

    What campers like

Level concrete pads: Many dog friendly campgrounds near Seabrook feature well-constructed sites that stay dry even after rain. "New, smaller park with all the amenities. Level concrete pads will accommodate RVs up to 40 feet," notes Pat M. about USA RV Resorts Marina Bay.

Clean facilities: Campground cleanliness ranks high among camper priorities in this region. "The bathrooms and the showers are very clean and are tiled," mentions Jeff H. about USA RV Resorts Marina Bay, highlighting the well-maintained amenities.

Beachfront accessibility: Direct access to sand and waves makes pet-friendly campgrounds near the Seabrook area popular year-round. "You can park right up to the water. Wind was blowing around 30mph from the south so the waves were amazing to listen and watch," shares Pam H. about her stay at Bolivar Flats.

Adult-only sections: Some resorts offer designated quiet areas for older travelers. "Campground is divided into 3 sections divided by a fence. Adult only section," explains Kimberly N. about USA RV Resorts Marina Bay, noting this specialized accommodation option.

    What you should know

Beach permits: Some coastal camping areas require permits for overnight stays. "Also you need a beach pass it's only $10 as a beach employee drives around and check for your sticker," advises Adam about his experience at Bolivar Flats Dispersed Camping.

Seasonal insect activity: Prepare for biting insects during warmer months, especially at dusk. "Only gave 4 stars because of the biting flies... They were swarming out dog, we had to keep her in the tent most of the time," warns Pam H. about her experience at Bolivar Flats.

Weekend crowds: Popular areas become significantly busier from Friday through Sunday. "There were approximately 8 boondocks here, there is adequate space to accommodate more. The weekends are loud and busy, during the week it calms down and gets quiet," observes Gregtasha P. about Bolivar Flats.

Parking challenges: Some facilities have limited space for additional vehicles. "Only real problem was the people park on the main thruway making getting in and out with the trailer difficult. We had to wake a guy up to move his truck to get into our spot and he was cranky about it," reports Lawrence Robert T. about Brickhouse RV Resort.

    Tips for camping with families

Dedicated family pool options: Multiple pet-friendly campgrounds around Seabrook offer water recreation specifically for children. "They have an adult pool and a family pool. The adult part of the pool rule wasn't enforced because when I walked over to it there were several families in the pool. The family pool was completely empty so we just went over there," shares Jeff H. about his stay at USA RV Resorts Marina Bay.

Sheltered picnic areas: Look for sites with covered eating spaces to provide shade during hot days. "Beachside campsites offer electric hookups and shaded picnic tables that are great for tent and RV camping!" recommends Leah F. about Galveston Island State Park Campground, noting the practical amenity for family meals.

Morning activities: Plan water sports and beach time earlier in the day before afternoon heat becomes intense. "Kid had a blast too!" mentions Pam H. about Bolivar Flats, confirming the child-friendly nature of morning beach activities.

Wildlife viewing opportunities: Local waterways provide educational experiences for children. "There is also a little flock of domestic ducks that live in the pond," notes Russell B. about Tropical Gardens RV Park & Resort, highlighting a simple nature encounter kids enjoy.

    Tips from RVers

Site selection strategy: When booking at pet-friendly RV parks near Seabrook, consider specific site locations for optimal views and convenience. "The view on the far side of the circle as you enter is spectacular, looking over the water on the bay side," advises Julie B. about Galveston Island State Park.

Arrival navigation: Some parks have specific entry patterns that aren't immediately obvious. "Getting there the first time is a tad shaky. As you pull in, natural inclination is to go to the right ... which is wrong. You have to go left to be able to hit the sites correctly," warns Jeff H. about USA RV Resorts Marina Bay.

Sand driving preparation: For beach camping, ensure your vehicle has adequate clearance and proper tire pressure. "We're about 17k pounds and had no issues driving and setting up on the sand," shares Wyatt J. from Bolivar Flats, providing reassurance about vehicle access.

Road access limitations: Larger rigs may find challenges on approach roads to certain campgrounds. "The roads getting there are tight if your rig is bigger than 35 feet," cautions Jordan L. about Marquee on the Bay RV Resort, highlighting an important consideration for drivers of larger motorhomes and fifth wheels.
