Blue Water RV Resort

Situated on a narrow strip of Folly's Island between Galveston Bay and the Gulf of Mexico, Blue Water RV Resort in Freeport sits close enough to the water that some sites back directly up to fishing docks on the canal side, while the beach sits just across a two-lane road. The property accommodates RVs up to 75 feet with full hookups, including electric, water, and sewer, and the rate range of $32 to $159 per night reflects the variety in site types available. San Luis Pass County Park sits nearby for campers who want a more open-air alternative along the same stretch of coastline.

On-site amenities go well beyond basic hookups. The resort has a swimming pool with water slides, a splash pad, a lazy river, mini golf, volleyball courts, shuffleboard, and paddle boat rentals. A camp store is well stocked, though the on-site restaurant has not always been open during visits, so having a backup plan for meals makes sense. Food trucks appear on weekends. Showers and bathrooms draw consistent praise for cleanliness across multiple reviews.

A few practical considerations are worth knowing before booking. The property sits between two wetland areas, which means mosquitoes can be heavy in the evenings. Bring repellent. The resort WiFi is not reliable enough for streaming or remote work, so plan accordingly. One reviewer noted that a surge protector activated multiple times during a two-day stay due to voltage fluctuations, making one a worthwhile addition to the packing list. Weekends fill up, so reservations in advance are advisable, particularly during summer months.

Be Prepared !

It is a well-maintained resort, unfortunately when we were there, the restaurant was not open which was a disappointment. there are a few restaurants a short car ride away. Camp store is well stocked. More importantly, the property sits between two areas of wetlands, so be prepared for the mosquitos in the evening, they are everywhere! Be prepared, bring your own Wi-Fi, the resort Wi-Fi is not strong enough to support streaming connectivity or telecommuting. Electricity, surge protector is a must...ours activated three times in a two day stay, shut our camper off, the protector marked it as a brown out.... granted there was a windstorm but better safe than sorry. We ended up having to cut our stay in half because we needed to take our camper to the factory as we had some wind damage, naturally I did not expect any refund and did not receive one

Lakeview, SC

Our family travel every year to visit this campground/resort. It's become a yearly vacation because the campground itself is a place to explore! Each year we go for a week and made it twice out of the campground to explore because they have everything from indoor heated pool, activity center, mini golf, golf cart parades, nightly activities like limbo holla hoop contests, packed with game areas like volleyball courts, bean bags, horse shoes, rental paddle boats, shuffle boards, water slides, splash pads, lazy River, RIGHT off the ocean! Showers and bathrooms are clean, laundry house is great, market store on site along with a restaurant. You really don't have to leave ever! We're nervous to try camping elsewhere because we've been so spoiled here!

Perfect location!

I love this RV park for its awesome location and amenities. It is on the Bay, but since it is a narrow part of the Island you are right across the street from the beach. It is only a 2 lane road and you are far enough away from town it’s not super crowded at the beach. Some of the sites they have available have fishing docks right behind the sites. We stayed in one of the sites with fishing docks and my husband had a great time fishing. The do have a store, a nice swimming pool and food trucks on the weekends. We had a great time.

Beach walking distance away

It’s super hot and no shade. We’re from NC and never have been to Texas. So it’s insanely hot. The campground and pool were very nice. We didn’t eat at the restaurant so I don’t know if it’s good or not? The only downside is if your camping with no bathroom. You’ll need to be close to the bath house. There’s not your typical bath camping houses.
