    Hidden Lake RV Park

    Quiet

We stayed here as an easy close spot to Ford Arena Softball Fields. Literally 3 minutes there. It's a small quiet park that has a few full-time campers. A small lake with free use of canoes and peddle boat available. A laundromat, bathroom and showers are on site; all very clean. Some of the sites are quite close with little shade. Most all have level concrete pads and full hookups. We stayed in site 30, which is a pull through large enough to accommodate big rigs.

    Rainbow's End RV Park

The Escapees HQ at Rainbows End

If you are a full tie RVer you have probably heard of the Escapees. The Escapees is the largest mail forwarding service and the clyb caters to full time RVers. Livingston TX is their main Headquarters, they do have 2 other semi Headquarters in FL and SD. If you are a full timer you now you need a domicile address and a mailing address for many things, this is how we do it. They have over 17,000 subscribers to their mail forwarding service, we are one of them. We stopped by this July to get our domicile done, vehicle registration, drivers license, voter registration etc. It was hot we will not come back in July again.

The campground is split into 2 main areas. They have a lot of deeded lots for you to buy which has houses, motor homes, park trailer or just roof for your RV. They have long term areas, overnighter, short long term, weekly or daily. You do not need to be a member of the Escapees to camp here, but we hear in the winter it does get full.

Camping full hook ups, electric and water, or just dry camping. They have just got some new internet on the area we were camping in and it was good enough to stream. They have a pool, clb house, activity center, 2 laundries, meeting rooms and a lot to do even in the summer. Most site are fairly level most gravel but do have some concrete pads. If it wasn't so hot I am sure we would have enjoyed it even more. One nice thing is they have a care center, areas that you can set up your RV and if you have something wrong with you they will help you out, take you to Drs, provide meals, help you. This is nice for us older folks that we worry about what happens if we need long stay for treatments and we have no home base.

Grand Pines of Texas RV Resort

Three Years New Campground with a Great Staff and Extra Amenities

I was surprised this campground had not been reviewed.  We stayed here in Jan '24 on the way to Houston for business.  Grand Pines is located on I-10 southeast of Beaumont TX.  Sites are all full hook-up, back-in concrete 60' x 20' leaving room for us to park our tow car. Grand Pines has high speed WIFI and free laundry facilities.  Grounds were well kept when we were there. Sites are a bit close together. They may now have more long term usage than transient. Still, it is a great stop over to catch up on domestic duties.

    Houston East RV Resort

    Beautiful Landscaped Sites

Ok these are all premium sites, resort is easy off and on i-10. Gated resort, nice sites, roads are all nice concrete, with concrete parking pads for RV and or tow vehicles. The sites are nicely landscaped, grass, trees, picnic tables, full hookups, include cable and wifi. It is located right off and beside i-10, so there is road noise, but everything food, restaurants, shopping, is all nearby. It's a great stop if traveling i-10 passing through. Oh they also have covered RV sites should you want to beat some of that sunshine off your rig in summer heat. There is a small pool that is nice, and a lake behind campground so one row of sites has lake views. We just took a pull through site under the canopy of trees, it's very nice!

    Alligator Parish Park Campground

    Clean and quiet

Stayed one night in 30 ft travel trailer (May 2,2022) and we were the only campers. There were other visitors/fisherman but quiet and peaceful. Restrooms clean and spacious. Shower was separate and locked but host would unlock as needed. All 7 pads are gravel, level, elevated above grass—helpful after hard rain— and would accommodate large rigs. Lake or old river course 100 plus feet from campsites. May bring kayaks next time. Road access is good and signs to guide you. One bar cell service. Each site has sewer but not conveniently located—near entrance to site and would require very long hose or require rigs to block access road when dumping This park happened to be along our route to another campground and not along major highway. Nice place to relax overnight or for few days.

    Vinton RV Park

Easy to Access, Great for Overnight Stop or Long Term

Only $375/mo for Long Term, All Utilities Included, Free Wi-Fi and Free Laundry!

We were heading back to Texas after Spring Break and needed a quiet, easy stop for the night. Vinton RV Park ended up being a perfect fit for our family. It’s right off I-10, super easy to find and book, and felt peaceful the moment we pulled in. At first, we had looked at a few other parks online that looked a bit more“luxury” in the photos, but when we got here, we were honestly surprised—in a good way. The amenity center here is actually really nice and has more of a resort feel than some of the other places nearby. Our boys had a blast riding their bikes around the park. It’s a big property, and we felt totally comfortable letting them run around since it’s well off the main road. There's even a gate at the entrance, which adds an extra layer of peace of mind(it was open when we arrived, but I imagine it gets closed later on). All in all, it was a great family-friendly stop, and we’ll definitely keep it on our list for future trips.

Group day use facilities with shelter, boat ramp, dump station, gate house, camp host, flush toilets, playground, covered picnic table, accessibility, pull throughs, fish cleaning table, pedestal grill This campground is the best COE campground that we have visited. It is very well maintained and extremely large. Sites are very nicely spaced out. The cons: fire ants, deer flies, and mosquitoes. Pros: Well maintained, beautiful, peaceful, fishing, boating, trails. Love site 36 There is a free fishing pond for the exclusive use of children and individuals with special needs. It is stocked with catfish and rainbow trout. There are even trophy largemouth bass released in the pond by local fishermen. If you catch "the big one" please practice "catch and release" so someone else might enjoy. There are four well marked trails that meander through old growth hardwood forest. You will see huge southern magnolia and American beech trees. The trails are color coded and there is a very nice map available from the gate house.

This COE campground should be a benchmark for all other COE campgrounds. We will return.

    Rainbow's End RV Park

    Good Travel Stop

This park is owned by Escapees RV Club.  We joined Escapees for the benefits, which include discounted camping.  We've stayed at this park several times, particularly when in the learning process for our new RV, as there is a lot of support here.  A lot of full time RV'ers use Rainbow's End as their home base, and a lot of full timers stop here for long periods of time while moving across country.  I always learn a lot from these long time full-timers.

The sites are decent, with gravel driveways and full hookups for both 30 amp and 50 amp.  They have an area for dry camping as well. are not level, so be sure to bring your leveling blocks if your rig does't have a leveling system.

There are a couple of bath houses and laundry facilities.  The bathing areas are kept clean and are spacious, but nothing fancy.  There is a swimming pool which is open in summer, but we've never used it.  They also have a weighing station, although I never used it.  Propane delivery is available once a week.  Sign up in the office if you want to get on the schedule.

Guide to Lumberton

RV parks near Lumberton, Texas provide convenient access to piney woods terrain in the Texas coastal plain at an elevation of around 50 feet. Most facilities operate year-round with summer temperatures regularly reaching the high 90s with high humidity. Pine forests and nearby waterways create distinctive camping environments with moderate to high levels of seasonal insect activity.

What to do

Fishing opportunities: The lake at Boomtown USA RV Resort offers stocked fishing with a dedicated swimming area. "Huge lake to enjoy," notes Brian C., while Tori K. mentions "The lake has really great fishing and there is a small swimming/beach area. The beach does have a lot of bees or wasps of some sort that are living in the sand so you have to wear shoes until you get in the water."

Explore nearby attractions: Multiple state parks and natural areas within 30-45 minutes of Lumberton. "Tyrell Park features a golf course, horseback riding, botanical gardens, and scenic boardwalks approximately five miles from the RV park," according to Jessica P. who stayed at End of the Road RV Park.

Recreation facilities: Many parks offer on-site activities. Vinton RV Park features "a massive clubhouse with billiards, shuffleboard, a cozy reading nook, a full kitchen, restrooms and plenty of seating for events or parties," according to one reviewer who appreciated the amenities included in the monthly rate.

What campers like

Concrete pads: Most parks feature level, paved sites. "Sites are all full hook-up, back-in concrete 60' x 20' leaving room for us to park our tow car," notes Tom D. about Grand Pines of Texas RV Resort.

Pool and spa access: Multiple parks offer swimming facilities. At Boomtown USA RV Resort, "Pool and jacuzzi area is wonderful. Very well maintained," according to Brian C. The amenities are particularly welcome during hot summer months when temperatures regularly exceed 90°F.

Security features: Gated access is common at RV parks near Lumberton. "You have to have codes to enter the gates and they have cameras around the property for safety keeping," writes Dayanis P. about Boomtown USA RV Resort, highlighting the security measures that appeal to travelers.

What you should know

Highway proximity: Many parks are located near major highways. At Gulf Coast RV Resort, reviewers note "Easy access from the interstate but not noisy," though experiences vary as another camper mentioned, "RIGHT on I-10 and the highway noise is bad."

Weather considerations: The region experiences heavy rainfall and occasional flooding. After rain at Gulf Coast RV Resort, one visitor reported, "The sites are very close together in the side we were staying at. More like a big parking lot. It had rained and it was rather flooded!"

Cell service and internet: Coverage varies significantly between carriers. At Rainbow's End RV Park, "if you have Tmobile cel phones or hotspots, this is not the RV park for you. We barely had cel phone reception, and our mobile hotspot was all but useless. Verizon works well here."

Tips for camping with families

Pool access timing: Swimming facilities typically operate seasonally. "There is a pool which is open in summer, but we've never used it," notes one reviewer at Rainbow's End RV Park, suggesting families check availability before planning water activities.

Beach area considerations: Natural swimming areas require preparation. At Boomtown USA RV Resort, the lake's beach area has "a lot of bees or wasps of some sort that are living in the sand so you have to wear shoes until you get in the water."

Recreational options: Check for kid-friendly amenities. "Vinton RV Park is fantastic! The spacious concrete pads made parking easy, and the full hookups were a big plus. We enjoyed the refreshing pool and the fun rec and game rooms," writes Abby F. about facilities at Vinton RV Park.

Tips from RVers

Sewer connection placement: At some parks, hookup locations require planning. At Hidden Lake RV Park, the sewer connections may require longer hoses due to placement, while George L. notes "Transit sites are level concrete pads."

Site selection for noise reduction: Choose sites away from highways where possible. Kelly N. shared about Boomtown USA RV Resort: "Nice park but RIGHT on I-10 and the highway noise is bad... Sites are large, concrete, with picnic tables and they are level."

Laundry facilities: Several parks offer free laundry services. At Vinton RV Park, "Free laundry, Wi-Fi, a pool, and an awesome rec room everything you need for a comfortable stay," according to Sheila L., making it convenient for longer stays.
