Fishing drives most visits to San Luis Pass County Park, and the setup supports it well. The park sits on the channel at the southern end of Folly's Island, with access to a bulkhead, a dedicated fishing path, boat docks, a launch ramp, and fish cleaning stations. No boat is required to get on the water. One note worth knowing: swimming is not permitted at the beach due to rip currents, though a swimmable beach is within walking distance elsewhere on the island.
Full hookup RV sites come with concrete pads, and the park includes showers, a dump station, and WiFi. The facilities tend to stay clean. Susana H. describes the location as having "extremely clean bathrooms/showers," and multiple reviewers confirm the bathrooms are well-maintained. The park is gated and staffed by camp hosts that reviewers consistently describe as knowledgeable and helpful. Cell coverage is reliable on Verizon. The WiFi gets mixed marks, with some reviewers rating it strong and others calling it poor.
The biggest tradeoff is site density. Sites are close together, and larger RVs may have difficulty maneuvering the interior roads when the park fills up. Weekday visits tend to be less crowded. Snake warning signs are posted throughout the park. The park is open year-round, accepts pets, and takes reservations. Anglers looking for camping spots near San Luis Pass County Park have additional choices in the area, including Blue Water RV Resort to the southwest for a different setup.
