    Thousand Trails Bay Landing

    Decent Park

As far as Thousand Trails this is an average park. There are some full hook up sites but many are partial hookups. You pick your own site which is nice but most of the full hook up sites are occupied by long term residents or annual site holders. The view of the lake is beautiful and the park is quiet. They do have a lot of amenities.

Sites: most were level, grass or gravel. Some have a view of the lake. I sprained my knee and ankle at this park because our site was so unlevel and the mud sunk our jacks a little. Our rig weighs 16,000lbs so the Class As should be careful. The ground was soft and I came out of the RV without thinking and twisted both. Medical services are within a half hour of the RV Park.

Each site had picnic tables and fire rings.

Cellular: we were able to work and stream video easily with T-Mobile and AT&T.

Amenities: Club House Shuffle Board Pool Hot Tub (closed while we were there) RV Storage Mini Golf Hiking Trails Laundry Bath House Playground Fishing WiFi

    Cedar Ridge RV Park

    Mostly Permanent Residence

Not sure about the first two reviews on the RV park.  For one thing you cannot boat into this park nor is it on a lake.  It is located on Highway 67 west of Glen Rose.  It's basically a long term full time residential park.

    Northlake Village RV Park

Nice. But for the price could be better.

We stayed three days at Northlake Village over the Thanksgiving holiday in 2021. We had a family gathering to go to in Keller, Texas and this RV park was convenient. From my own observations, it looks like this particular park caters to long term rentals more than it does short term. While staying here we met a few'residence' who had been there for months. Despite this, the grounds are well maintained and so are the facilities; pool, fitness room, laundry and bathrooms. Because it was a holiday (Thanksgiving) the rental rate was quite high. So, I expected a very nice place. So, it was disappointing to discover that the FREE WiFi didn't work. The office was not open due to the holiday, or perhaps Covid. So, I didn't bother to see if it could be fixed. I have a sneaky suspicion that the WiFi service we were given to connect to is not the one that long term renters get to use. In the future, I will look for another RV park.

    Thousand Trails Lake Whitney

A Campground for full time RV..ers

    • Sites are first come first serve - there is no holding sites especially if you are going as a group
    • No open fires - only propane or charcoal
    • Bathrooms were nice, clean and air conditioned...definitely a couple of notches above the Texas State Parks
    • No wildlife here...just the human kind
    • Nice shady sites but not a lot of elbow room (pretty cramped)
    • Take lots of allergy medicine if you are allergic to Red Cedar
    • 30 AMP sites with full hook ups
    • A lot of kids activities - water melon eating contest, face painting, etc.
    • Could see a lot of stars in the night sky
    • Don't hang anything from the trees..will get in trouble
    • No place to hang a garbage bag outside
    • Overflowing trash dumpsters
    • Propane filling station on the campground property
    • Cell service with T-Mobile was sparse. Verizon seemed to work fine.

We got a free Thousand Trails membership from the dealership when we purchased our new camper so we decided to use it for Labor Day at Lake Whitney RV Campgrounds. We went with our camping buddies (theDyrt Ranger Jenny S and family) who also pulled their camper. The sites are first come first serve and there is no holding sites, so if you go as a group finding sites that are together is tough (several sites were bagged and not usable).  We picked Sites #6 and #83 on Loop B. Luckily these sites back up to each other and the kids could roam between the two sites. The sites were 30 AMPs with full hooks up and that part was nice. Didn't have to watch tank levels every time someone (kids) flushed.

The campsites were pretty shady with red cedar trees which created havoc with my son's allergies. Poor kid was stuffed up the entire time we were there. The sites were pretty cramped, we were not able to extend our awning without hitting the tree branches. The road inside the campground is pretty beat up with lot of bumps. The amenities were nice - a family swimming pool, shuffleboard, washers, putt-putt golf. The campgrounds had several activities for Labor Day such as a water melon eating contest, frozen T-shirt contest which kept the kids entertained.

Don't hang anything on the trees. We had some LED light up and the park ranger had us take it down.  Was actually a little harsh about it. Following that encounter we took down the clothesline that we strung up to dry our swimming suits and wet towels. No place to hang a garbage bag either.

Politeness in customer service was hit or miss.

Our stay was free because of the Thousand Trails membership but otherwise each site goes for about $45/night. I'll do it again for free, if I have to pay...I will go down the street at Lake Whitney State Park for $25 with full hookups.

    Clean Living RV Park

    Fantastic!

Awesome RV Park! Manager and owner are on site every day, and are very responsive to your needs. Rural setting near Azle. Park is clean and well maintained. Safety and security are foremost, as park is completely fenced in with access via a code-controlled gate. Highly Recommend this as a great park for a short or long-term stay!!  About midway between Azle and Boyd. Country setting just a few miles from stores, gas stations, restaurants, etc. Nearby doctors, dentists, and Texas Health Hospital Azle. Several veterinary hospitals in the area. Everything we wanted for a long-term stay!! The friendliness and responsiveness of the manager, owner, and residents is a huge plus, and makes this a park with a real community feel.

    Traders Village RV Park

    Clean and big

We stayed 4 nights in site 24, PT FHU on a level concrete pad with a picnic table and plot of grass. $40/ni after Good Sam. The park is split into two sections; the side we are in is next to an airfield and the other side is by a small dog run (next time, I'll request this section bc I'm traveling with my dogs). They have a store and the laundry is clean and well priced ($1.25/wash, $0.25/12 min dry). The wifi is strong and the park is quiet. There are some long term, possibly permanent, tenants, but their sites are well kept.

    Tired Traveler RV Park

    No frills, safe, easy access

We stayed at the Cisco location as we were traveling through Texas. This is not an RV "park". It's more of a stop over for passing through. No amenities, no one on site. We are a 44ft 5th wheel and liked that we could pull off I20 into a spot. Full hook ups. We stayed in the back lot. The area does look run down but it's a small town, low crime. No one bothered us. We got stuck in an ice storm and our 1 night pass through turned into 3. Would stay again for passing through. If you need amenities etc This isn't the place.

Great place to call home, but only here for a month.

    Dodge City RV Park

    Good spot for camping

Been there last year during out trip to Texas( mainly hiking in Britton park and a few other local trail spots and camped at Dodge City RV park)

Pros: good clean spots for camping, everything you might need is pretty close
Didn't try RV spots, but those looked really nice too.

    Cons: Didn't find any.

If you gonna be visiting TX during June-July for trailing and camping - my advice is: make sure to get a pair of comfy shoes(my go-to are Brooks men's running shoes like those https://rununited.com/mens-footwear/) - trails are pretty rough and it's extremely hot and humid near bodies of water... Gotta dry your shoes every few hours

They tell you to go pick out a spot and then call it in to them. Most of the sites had no number and I told the office this. Rather than help, she argued with me and was very nasty. When I said I wanted a refund, they could not provide it. A guy finally helped me but I will never stay at this place again. Lots of shady long term residents. The whole place is just old and dated. Avoid....

    Clean

This place is clean and new owners are nice. My problem is with the “mayor“. There are mailboxes on site for long term residents but she refuses to let anyone use them except for her 2 family members that she let have 2 of the junky mobile homes on the property. One is with Denton County SO and his place looks like a junky car lot. Even a disabled vet in another mobile home she wouldn’t give mailbox access to. These are federal mailboxes not specifically for her relatives. The local PD goes to the office to just sit inside and do nothing during their shift.

    Took the whole family out

Once again Cleburne State Park has been such an amazing place to visit. If you get to go please try to get spot (46) it’s a full hook up and tent camping. That’s not the best part of it it it right on the lake with its own beach area. As the wonderful park rangers in the front said, “ the best view and camping spot in the whole park”.

Finally glad to be back camping and having fun.

Love the location, so close to Dallas! This park is so quite and very dark at night! I loved that about this park, glad I arrived during the daylight it would be very difficult to find an RV spot at night! They have several full hookup sites closed right now due to some upgrades! The rest rooms were very clean! They have a good hiking trail! I had to walk about 1/2 mile to get to the water! It was so worth it! Got there just in time to go fishing while there were Sand Bass schooling! I ended up catching 15 and could have caught more but it was getting dark.

Looks like fun in the summer

We arrived late  December and it was chilly. Sites with full hook up are limited, but even with annuals are still possible. One thing though, we found a great site (124 ) very close to the water which is a plus for us as my wife is disabled and needs a walker so if the water is too far it becomes and issue, but had to pay $3 more a night due to it being as they said a limited 50 amp service. Even though we are 30, still the cost is $3. With my wife issue it is a no brainer for us. All in all, the campground was quite, you can see when it is summertime, its a wonderful place to bring the family as it has a huge area for kid activities, family gathering and more.
