Come experience 100% enjoyment and relaxation surrounded by towering trees with views of Dale Hollow Lake. It is a jewel in the south, and one of the cleanest lakes you will find, with 620 miles of shoreline. There is so much to do. We have trails to walk or bike and we are within 2.5 miles of a major marina for boating enthusiasts. We offer kayaks for rent and provide fire rings and picnic areas for our guests.

We are off the beaten path yet so close to so many of Kentucky's natural treasures. Our convenient location offers numerous opportunities for day trips; scuba dive the flooded city of Willow Grove or visit nearby Daniel Boone National Forest, Mammoth Cave National State Park, Green River State Park, and Old Kentucky Home State Park. After your fun-filled day, come back to recharge and relax in front of a cozy fire in the quiet and comfort of our park. Pets are welcome and we have WIFI.

Don't have an RV or tent? We have a sweet little air-conditioned cabin that sleeps a party of 2 adults and 2 children. We also have bathrooms with showers, a laundry area, and a concession stand. Picnic areas and fire rings are included with site rentals.

Management lives on site for the security and convenience of our guests.

    Nashville I-24 Campground

    Great location, easy access!

This park is an older KOA that is now a private campground. There are many long term residents but also a lot of RVers stopping through. This is a true RV Park with full services, propane, a pool, nice dog walking area, and long pull throughs. The park is kept very clean and has great landscaping.

While normally we prefer to be in the country away from the cities, we were here for work and we were very impressed by the care they take for this park. The staff was all very helpful and spent a lot of time making sure campers have a great experience. We will definitely return!

Cellular signals were great for AT&T and TMobile.

There is a busy road outside of the park, but that also means great restaurants and quick drives to things we wanted to go do!

    Not great

I’ve not reviewed before but felt a need to review here. Pros: it has the essentials -water, sewer, electric hookups. It is far enough off of I40 so that you don’t hear the constant highway noise. Accommodating person at the desk. Quiet after dark. Cons: lots of long term residents. More like a trailer park than an RV site. The men’s bathroom was unusable due to feces on the floor left by an inconsiderate resident or unsupervised child. Thankfully not spending any time here.

    Spring Lake RV Resort

Our favorite RV park this trip

We were on an sudden, urgent trip with minimal pre-planning and no reservations. We contacted Spring Lake an hour before arrival and they were super helpful, providing a level overnight pull-through site reservation. We were arriving an hour after the office closed and they made arrangements to help us get settled. We were so appreciative of the consideration. Overall we felt the amenities and the setting were the nicest of this 1200 mile trip. Pretty, very well maintained. Level sites with picnic table and convenient hook-ups. The sites are built around a small lake. I suspect most of the leases are long-term. Friendly manager and friendly residents. We walked around the lake and found they had sitting areas and gazebos where you could relax during the day or at night. A couple of miles off the interstate so no road noise and very quiet at night. You can pick up fast food dinner on the way to the park.

    Nice and quiet little campground.

64 full hook-up with 30 and 50 amp electric on the sites. Site 1 only had a 30 amp and was the smallest in the campground. They had wifi and cable TV that was available. Sites were fairly level. I had to use 2 yellow flat blocks on site 1. Restrooms and showers were closed due to Covid-19 restrictions. We were told they were full but several sites remained empty during our stay. Would have liked to have had a lake side site or a larger level site. Owners were friendly as well as the guests. I believe they had some full-time living there too. I would go back.

Peavine Campground (Catoosa Wildlife Management Area)

Primitive Camping in Wildlife Management Area

This is primitive camping in the Catoosa Wildlife Management Area. There is a large open field for group camping and some more private sites in the woods if you go down Otter Creek Road a little bit past the open field. I believe this is manly used for hunters or fishermen, but is a boondocking option for other outdoor enthusiasts. Again, this is primitive, boondocking, so no amenities or hookups. Pretty basic.

The is a small store at the Deer Run RV Resort less than a mile away. Other than that it’s about a 20 minute drive to the nearest Food City.

Fall Creek Falls State Park Campground

    Good Campground

I've been camping here many times, in multiple places—the full RV-hookup campground, the group camps, and the walk-in sites. All are worth checking out! All of them are clean, although they can be pretty crowded during the summer. Fall Creek Falls has lots of beautiful hikes + swimming areas, so you might want to have access to a car (or at least bring a bike) to explore the whole thing. It's a great place to camp!

    Shady Acres campground, Lebanon Tn

This is a perfect spot for passing through town. We are in our way to North Carolina from Mississippi. My husband made this reservation over the phone with a really trusting kind person. They double checked the availability because they were almost totally full. It was a pull through spot close to the bathrooms. We were able to use just electrical hook up for the night to rest. It’s a few minutes off I-40 and lots of gas options close by. It’s only minutes from Nashville downtown. This is a family owned business with a permanent house in the front. Looked like there were some long term rental people here. If it were summer months there is a pool up front. We will add this to our list for location and price!

    Elm Hill RV Resort

    Percy Priest perfection

By far the nicest place we’ve stayed, amenity-wise. Our site backed up to an amazing view of the lake and the marina. Very clean, well-maintained and well-run. The only downsides are 1)it’s a little pricey and 2) sites are close together...typical rv resort spacing, but they are staggered so it’s fine. Very close to home for us, so that’s a bonus. *second stay here...avoid site 16. It’s a great location in theory, but your view is largely obstructed by site 15 which is angled the opposite direction (see pic). *we preferred staying on the marina-side. It was shadier and more private.

    Elm Hill RV Resort

    Beautiful location

This park is located on a peninsula on a lake close to Nashville. Almost every site has a view of the water on flat concrete big pads. Some sites, on higher land, are mostly long term residents. Most sites are back in but there are a few pull through. Each site has all hook ups and are very well maintained. The sites are close together but not uncomfortable. There is a camp store at the main office. The pool is very nice and there are games, a playground and a pavilion. There was a band there during my stay. Activities planned throughout the month. It is more expensive than most but the quality of the site is worth it.

    Poole Knobs

    It was nice

I recommend Seven Points Campground over Poole Knobs. Nothing wrong with it here, in fact our site had access to the lake in a semi-private sort of way. It was almost like we had our own beach. That said oir site was adjoining another and the RV hookups were a bit oddly placed. If we were traveling with others it would be cool to share a place, but it had sort of a semi-circle driveway. It was fine for us to get on and out, but if someone was in the adjoining lot it would have been a bit odd.

Overall its nice and well kept.

    Bledsoe Creek State Park Campground

    Easy primitive campingexperience with kids

Bledsoe is great for little kids (which is now my primary criteria when judging a park). There is a flat trail next to the lake that my two year old loves to run up and down, playgrounds, and a story trail. There are also some nice hiking trails with beautiful views of the lake (for me) and lots of bugs and turtles (for the toddler).

While most of the campsites have RV hookups, there are several primitive sites next to the lake that are away from all the generator noise. These sites have ample room and a nice view of the lake.

Great camping for families that is a short drive from Nashville.

Nice, clean but really close together

The sites are very close together, but our neighbors were really quiet. They are permanent (long term) residents. The camp ground is pretty full even now.

The sites are very close together. It is shaded. The sites are gravel and fairly level. There is a swimming pool (outdoor) and a playground. I did not visit the bathhouse so do not know how nice it is or whether or not it is ADA accessible.

The owner helped us to our space and is quite nice. The 2 neighbors assisted us with booking up as this is our first time out in our new camper.

The handyman is a master helper!!!

    Defeated Creek Campground

    Our favorite yet

Of all of our stays so far (RV resorts, state parks, private campground)...Defeated Creek is our hands-down favorite. **Edited to say...salt lick has it beat in our opinion. It was beautiful, clean and peaceful. Our beautifully shaded site backed up to Cordell Hull Lake, and we had front row seating to the most exquisite sunsets. People were very friendly and the general consensus was that defeated creek is everyone’s favorite campground. And we have our eye 👁 on site #71 for next time! Primo spot! We had site #47 and it was massive...plenty of room for everything even our cornhole set. Book way ahead...it books up fast.

Tip💡: follow WAZE directions rather than RV Trip Wizard!!! Trip wizard took us a bass ackward way through winding narrow back roads only to end up on the highway we were originally on!👎🏻

    Hear me out (long post)

Several of the good reviews are for the state park with the same name, make sure to read the full reviews and look at the photos. Lesson learned.

I'm going to start with the good, it's short and sweet.

Good Beautiful grounds Clean-ish bathroom Clean laundry Trash can at each site Deb at the office the only one who was friendly That's it.

Now the not so good, (here me out)

Sewage the leach fields for these two sites are right next to the sites, not good if you want to spend anytime outside or sit with your windows open. Everytime someone uphill from us drained their lines it just floated our way.

The smell of sewage was so overwhelming in a two week span ( stayed only because we couldn't find anything elsewhere). That we basically stayed in the trailer all two weeks. Except for the quick walk to the water and grassy area to break our dog. Which you could smell sewage through the whole area.

Animals Dogs tied to trees and bumpers of peoples RVs, and left alone all day( mostly fill time rivers) camper's dogs wandering, had to call nothing really changed, kept happening but didn't want to be that person who called daily. No enforcement of rules that are clearly stated in the the email. Non stop barking from surrounding properties ( yes not the campsite fault) but very very noisy.

Long term residents Not the most friendly people they seem to be bothered by those who are temporary.

Did I mention the smell of sewage???

Check-in Digital check-in, some may appreciate this, but we had sever older people ask us to help them check in while we walked/ drove past the office. Offers discount for military/ Sam goody, but not online reservations, and good luck getting them on the phone to make a reservation. Asked for a adjustment on our reservation and they gave us a "campground" credit. We could use in the office for items. (They said if we don't use it, it will be refunded to our account after we leave, I'll report back on if this actually happens) Seems like they cater to long term mostly, lots of long term spots available once we got here that you couldn't see online.

Most facility closed Restaurant permanently closed, Hot tub was drained (which is inside) Pool drained ( understandable for time of year)

WiFi they say on their site that there is WiFi, there isn't.. unless you want to hang out in the office only. 😶

Light pollution Big streetlights near campsite, hard to even imagine what sitting in the woods under the stars is like.

Traffic noise Also you can really hear the noise from the highway all night long..

The reason I gave it a 3 star.. The grounds are beautiful, the laundry is clean, shower isn't to bad.

We probably won't ever stay here or recommend, which is to bad, because there is so much potential. If you decide to venture here and get one of the spots open stay away from W 17/18

    A let down

The campground is not level at all. There are a few heavy wooden tables, but not anywhere close to the campsites. Tena, the lady that runs the campground was nice, but a little off. When I spoke to her to setup reservation, she was helpful. When we got here, she seemed put out by our presence. Also, the site I had reserved was taken by someone else she referred to as "squatters" and so we had to pick another site. One of the long term campers has dogs and they barked a lot during the night. Plan activities for yourself. There are no trails, or anything to do to entertain yourself. I'm seriously having trouble giving this 2 stars. I want to just put 1 star.

    Family Friendly

Beautiful park with lots of activities for kids. The hiking trails were well maintained but vary in difficulty (easy to moderate; side trails to overlooks steep and rocky). Over 200 rv sites, most are close to each other; plan ahead to get a good site. We reserved a year in advanced and at that time no full hook ups were available. The park is a top visited park in TN - it’s crowded.
