Some sites feature easy water access where dogs can cool off, particularly along the Emory River which borders Rock Creek Campground. Big-Color Campground in Catoosa WMA offers more primitive, dispersed camping options for those seeking free camping with dogs in a less developed setting. The campground experiences significant wildlife activity at night, making proper pet containment essential.
