Beautiful campsite

This is a beautiful campsite in Andersonville, TN, approximately 2:45 hrs from Asheville, NC. The lake is clear and clean. The campsites have water and power hook-ups. The staff in the store were super sweet and helpful. They even sell firewood and ice after hours on the honor system. The only reason for the 4 stars is that the bathrooms are not the best we’ve seen and only 1 shower in the bath house. The grounds are dog friendly and as long as they are on a leash, can splash around in the water. Our site had amazing views, but little shade. It also had perfect tree spacing to hang hammocks. *beware, there is tons of goose poop- no good if your pup is a turd burglar!

Awesome Lake Views

Stayed at a premium lakeshore site on Norris Lake. Advertised as a pull through, but that must be for travel trailers, as I have an RV. Positives: can beat the lakefront site for direct access for swimming or watercraft. Clean bathhouse and trash dumpsters near by. Most of the shady sites are not direct lake access. I didn't give it 5 stars because leveling can be a challenge. Super friendly and helpful staff.

Great spot

Campsite was clean, quiet and beautiful when we stayed. Campsites were well spaced and immaculately maintained. I’d love to come back during the summer! We did a day trip to Knoxville zoo, which was about 45 minutes away.

Nice campground

Nice campground. A bit noisy on the back side & people going through your area are the complaints. Sites are roomy for the most part. Love the little critters (chipmunks, birds, squirrels) squirrels are used to being around people. Lots of kids running around by themselves. Had some construction going on in the day use area. Store has pretty much bare minimum. Bath houses aren’t the best, but will work for what they are needed.

Lake life is strong here!

We absolutely love this campground. You can camp on the water and watch amazing sunsets . They have a beach with a few rentals. No sewer hookups! There are some fun mountain biking and hiking trails.

The road to get here is quite small, long, and winding. Be aware if you’re in a big rig.

Great camping at State Park prices

We stayed for a weekend in April and it was great for the price. You can camp right on the lake or above in the woods. The site for rv/tt are a good size. Spaced out pretty good for a state park. There is plenty to do around here from hiking, biking, fishing, large group areas. The rangers were really nice. Bathrooms are clean. Will stay here again

Great Spot on Norris Lake

Loyston Point is a great campground on Norris Lake, which is known as one of the nicest lakes around. The campground has multiple lakefront sites, as well as lake view, and several wooded sites, if you are looking for more seclusion. There’s also some small cabins. Something for everyone here!

One thing to be aware of- not all the sites have a water spigot, several spots have a shared spigot, so he sure you have a really long hose if you are camping in an rv. I was in site 50, and was in between the spigots, so I’m not sure my hose would have reached if I were in my camper. Other than that, the campground is amazing. Bathhouses were extremely clean and maintained. Sites were spacious, lots of trees, even on the lakefront sites. Just beautiful.

This area is big for mountain biking also. There’s a parking lot with restrooms and I can almost guarantee it will be full of MTB riders. So much to do here all year round.

Best for Mtn biking

Can’t beat the biking, hiking and water sports! Clean and nice showers. Steps from biking. We stayed at a site right on the water. Not super private but the area and activities make up for the lack of privacy. And whatever you do make sure you visit the Clinch River Brewery just a short drive away.

Lakefront Camping

Loyston Point is a really nice campground right on Norri Lake. There is not a bad site in the whole campground. Most sites have a lake view and the ones that don't are heavily wooded and spacious. I stayed here in November, and the water was low, but it was still a spectacular sunrise. The area is very popular for mountain biking, no matter when you visit, the trailhead lot will likely be full. The lake is probably the cleanest and nicest around, so if you visit in warmer months you will be glad to have access to it. There is a camp store, and I saw at least two bathhouses. The one that was near our site was clean and heated. The sites are all extremely spacious, and many have good trees for hammocks. The sites have shared water hookups, so if you are in an RV, you should be sure to have an extra-long water hose. There are some small cabins for rent here too. I highly recommend this place for lake camping.

Awesome Spot, no doubt

Loyston Point is remarkable in its beauty and simplicity. The staff is warm and helpful, it’s incredibly clean, and the surroundings really allow you to feel the love of East Tennessee’s beauty. It is a bit sandy on some water front sites, so be mindful of that for your gear, and site 12, which we just stayed in, has very little shade if any, though that was ok for us. It was the first camping trip I took my wife and daughter on, and this was the right first place for them. My love of camping and this spot has them both looking for more! We are already booked to go right back to Loyston in just a few short weeks!

Family fun!

Located on the beautiful Norris Lake. Our tents were right on the water and a short swim/walk to paddle boats and kayaks! Only thing I don’t like is how close each site is. Their cabins are adorable!!

Staff, water and campground was awesome

The campground was well kept, it has a beautiful lake that was very clean. We caught and ate several catfish. The roads were great for the kids to ride bike and they enforced the slow speed limit for cars which was awesome. The staff was very friendly and helped out kids out when they had a small bike wreck. The bathrooms were awesome and cleaner the. Other campgrounds we have been to. Overall we had a great time.

Amazing campground, awesome customer service

I brought my 4 young kids 7 hours south to meet my brother in law who brought his oldest 3 kids 7 hours north. Booked the last remaining camp site along the lake and we couldn’t be happier. Great place for kids to hang out, play in the water, and pull the boat right up to our camp site. The bathrooms were always very clean and had nice hot water showers. But above anything else, the customer service was amazing. The lady helped us in any way she could.

Love it!

Our first camping trip as a camping family in a pull behind. We loved it and everyone was so nice! The views were amazing and we will for sure visit again.

Beautiful View!

We only stayed 2 nights, so my review is limited. The only downside is the horrifically unleveled sites. The bathrooms were clean, the view from our site was spectacular and the staff was very helpful. The sites were spacious and the access roads were very easy to maneuver.
