Gated access keeps traffic minimal at this Tennessee Valley Authority campground on Fort Loudoun Lake. The peninsula setting means most sites back up to water views, even those not directly lakefront. Campers arrive by car or boat, with a small marina providing slip rentals for those who prefer to dock their vessels.
Sites accommodate RVs up to 60 feet with electric and water hookups, though several reviewers note the absence of individual sewer connections. A dump station handles waste disposal needs. Daniel mentions "plenty of space between sites" and confirms that "most of the sites back into a view of the water." The bathhouses receive consistent praise for cleanliness, with hot showers available year-round.
Fishing from the shoreline draws families, and a small beach area provides swimming access during warmer months. The campground includes a basketball court and beach volleyball setup. A seasonal camp store operates during peak months, offering basic supplies and kayak rentals when staffed. Regina R. notes "lots of birds chirping, kids playing (but gets quite at night)."
Winter camping remains viable, though the exposed lakefront sites can feel chilly during cold snaps. Some sites require careful backing due to tight turns or elevation changes. The campground tends to fill during summer months, particularly waterfront spots. Lazy Acres RV Park sits nearby for overflow options.
Reservations open well in advance for peak season stays, with early booking recommended for lakefront sites.
