Part of the Tennessee Valley Authority system, Riley Creek Campground operates seasonally from April through October along the shoreline of Watts Bar Lake. This established campground accommodates RVs up to 35 feet with full hookups, though one reviewer noted that most sites provide 30-amp service with limited 50-amp availability.

The campground functions on a first-come, first-served basis and draws both seasonal campers and weekend visitors. Several reviewers mention the community atmosphere among long-term guests who look out for one another. The access road presents some challenges, with low-hanging branches that may concern taller rigs. Water service gets shut off during winter months when freezing temperatures arrive, typically in November.

Lake access remains a primary draw, with campers noting the sandy beach area and direct water views from many sites. Alisha K. highlights "gorgeous views of the lake, convenient hiking trail on property for our pups, sandy beach." An on-site hiking trail provides exercise opportunities for both campers and their pets. The campground hosts are noted for their helpfulness, delivering firewood and providing golf cart tours for families.

Campers seeking additional options in the region can explore places to camp around Kingston. For a different lakeside experience, Caney Creek RV Resort & Marina offers full-service amenities less than five miles northwest.

Beautiful sunsets over the lake

Mostly hunters camping this time of year the water gets turned off for the winter in November or whenever freezing begins… taller rigs may see some low branches on the road in. Most sites 30 amp I did find one site with 50 amp and stayed at it while I worked on upgrading the electrical system as it had issues running on 30 amp

LOVE THIS PLACE

This campground is a first come first serve basis. The hosts are amazing!!! They brought my firewood everyday and even took all the kids for rides on the golf cart around the campground. We had 8 kids with is so that took a few trips. The campground is beautiful and most of the people camping there set up for the season and everyone watches out for each other. I highly recommend a stay at Riley Creek you will not be disappointed.

Great place

Took my family here for a weekend in our new camper and the people that where camping there had to have been the nicest people I’ve ever met. The people that run the campground there were super friendly and more than helpful. Will definitely be staying here more
