Best RV Parks & Resorts near Lancing, TN

Several RV parks with full hookups can be found within 30 miles of Lancing. Brooks Corner Campground offers water and electric hookups with 50-amp service and WiFi capability in a rural setting. Windrock Gap Campground provides RV sites with 50-amp service specifically catering to off-road enthusiasts accessing nearby trails. Deer Run RV Resort features pull-through sites that accommodate larger motorhomes, while Paradise on the Mountain RV Park maintains 100 sites with both 30-amp and 50-amp service options. Sites at Spring Lake RV Resort are built around a small lake with concrete pads. "Sites were fairly level. I had to use 2 yellow flat blocks on site 1," noted one camper.

Most parks in the region remain open year-round, though weather conditions on mountain roads may create access challenges during winter months. Navigation to several parks requires careful planning as some entrances involve steep grades or narrow access roads. Dump stations are available at Deer Run, Paradise on the Mountain, and Windrock Gap, though locations vary within each facility. Parks within the area generally allow pets with standard leash requirements. Propane services are limited—the nearest refill locations for most campers will be in Jamestown or Oneida, approximately 25-40 minutes away. Cell service can be inconsistent throughout the mountainous terrain, particularly at campgrounds further from main highways. Reservation policies vary by location, with some parks requiring advance booking during peak seasons.

    Spring Lake RV Resort

    Nice and quiet little campground.

64 full hook-up with 30 and 50 amp electric on the sites. Site 1 only had a 30 amp and was the smallest in the campground. They had wifi and cable TV that was available. Sites were fairly level. I had to use 2 yellow flat blocks on site 1. Restrooms and showers were closed due to Covid-19 restrictions. We were told they were full but several sites remained empty during our stay. Would have liked to have had a lake side site or a larger level site. Owners were friendly as well as the guests. I believe they had some full-time living there too. I would go back.

    Spring Lake RV Resort

Our favorite RV park this trip

We were on an sudden, urgent trip with minimal pre-planning and no reservations. We contacted Spring Lake an hour before arrival and they were super helpful, providing a level overnight pull-through site reservation. We were arriving an hour after the office closed and they made arrangements to help us get settled. We were so appreciative of the consideration. Overall we felt the amenities and the setting were the nicest of this 1200 mile trip. Pretty, very well maintained. Level sites with picnic table and convenient hook-ups. The sites are built around a small lake. I suspect most of the leases are long-term. Friendly manager and friendly residents. We walked around the lake and found they had sitting areas and gazebos where you could relax during the day or at night. A couple of miles off the interstate so no road noise and very quiet at night. You can pick up fast food dinner on the way to the park.

Melton Hill Dam Campground — Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA)

    Beautiful and peaceful

The campsite sits right beside the Tennessee river. There are 9 full hookup sites and many of the rest have power and water. Large river swimming area. Most sites are level with concrete tables, fire pits and grills. Bathrooms are clean and adequate. Bathrooms in the day use area are less so. Store is small with snacks, ice, drinks and ice cream. Staff very nice and RV’ers themselves. Family friendly. Pull through dump site. Love Truck Stop at entrance to I-40. $ rate and honors America Pass.

    Blue Moon RV Park

Jane and Bud offer a simple yet nice place to rest

Nice place with 10 50 amp pull through sites and a few back in 30 amp used by monthly renters that make you feel welcome.

    Cumberland Mountain State Park Campground

Great for RVs, Ok for Tents

This campground is located within the Cumberland Mountain State Park. The sites are set up for RVs and it is very popular.

Pros: There is no camp store, but there are vending machines available. There are restrooms available. Staff is in the office during business hours. There are 2 short hiking trails (less than 1 mile in length each). There are playgrounds, a lake for fishing, and a golf course. Each site has parking for 1 vehicle, a large gravel pad, water and electric hookup, picnic table, and lantern hook.

Cons: site are very close together. Tents and RVs do not have separate loops. No camp store. No showers.

Overall, this campground is set up to cater more toward those with RVs than people camping in tents.

Pickett CCC Memorial State Park Campground

    OMG! O

We stayed for a few days and as a backpacker, the local hikes are some of the best I have ever seen! I would say most of the hikes are moderate, although some say easy. Grandma couldn’t leisurely walk, or scale some of the trails, so you have been warned. But for able bodied persons, the hikes are all doable. There are quite the variety of hike lengths to choose from, from short and squatty, to full day hikes. I’ll submit some of my favorite shots below. For RVs - I was towing a 21 ft trailer and my site at the bottom of the hill, which was away from other campers, but the grade was ridiculous! I had 6” of block height to level side to side! I heard other complaints from other longer tongue pullers as well, regarding the difficulty getting into their sites. Most of the sites are small, too close to other campers, or too close to the smell of the privies. But if you are hiking the area, I think the stay could be worth some of the hassle. There is a pull through dump station on the loop. There is electric and water. Tent campers - probably have plenty of room to spread out, some with power hookups and the convenience of showers at a central bathhouse. Daytime picnics - a beautifully large area to choose from and see. Lots of selections, all of them very well social distanced, family friendly and shaded with trees. Soooo much to see.

    Patrick’s Point River Camp

    A great little getaway spot!

We will absolutely be back! I’ll be honest, as a visibly queer person with rainbow hair I was a bit nervous about the Bible verses and Christian flag due to past experiences, but Patrick and Angelica were welcoming and friendly the entire time!

The RV spot with shade was great! It’s right next to the bathroom but everyone is spread out enough it wasn’t an issue at all.

Strong WiFi, pet friendly, and a beautiful, peaceful spot with very friendly owners!

Guide to Lancing

RV camping near Lancing, Tennessee provides access to the Cumberland Plateau region at elevations ranging from 1,200 to 2,000 feet. The area experiences moderate temperatures from April through October with occasional mountain fog affecting visibility. Campgrounds in this region typically remain accessible year-round, though winter travel requires additional planning due to potential icy conditions on mountainous roads.

What to do

Offroad adventures: Windrock Gap Campground caters specifically to trail enthusiasts. "Convenient campground close to windrock park. Staff is friendly and responsive," notes Mike L. The campground provides direct access to Windrock's extensive trail system.

Fishing spots: The region offers multiple lakes and streams for anglers. "We were on a sudden, urgent trip with minimal pre-planning and no reservations. We contacted Spring Lake an hour before arrival and they were super helpful," shares Sara M., who found the lakeside setting ideal for relaxation.

Historical exploration: Rugby historic village is minutes from some campgrounds. "So glad that we decided to camp at Brooks. It is right behind the Brooks store and less than a mile from Rugby. Both the store and town are a step back in history," writes Jason K. who appreciated the convenient location.

What campers like

Dark sky viewing: The minimal light pollution creates excellent stargazing conditions. "Star view on a clear night is awesome due to the lack of nearby city lights. We will definitely return," reports Jason K. about his experience at Brooks Corner Campground.

Clean facilities: Campers frequently mention bathroom quality. "The bathhouse is amazing!! I've stayed at many campgrounds and I think this is the cleanest bathhouse I've ever seen," Sara E. comments about her stay at Paradise on the Mountain RV Park.

Peaceful environment: The remote setting provides quiet camping experiences. "Very nice quiet, rural campground with full hookups and wifi and General Store/Cafe walkable M-SA 11-5pm. It is very quiet and very dark," Josh J. notes about Brooks Corner, highlighting the peaceful atmosphere many campers seek.

What you should know

Cell service limitations: Coverage varies significantly throughout the area. "Cell Data signal isn't great here either. I have a dual LTE router that I was only getting ATT 3G signal with normal antennas but once I connected the exterior antenna I had been waiting to install I got 4 bars ATT LTE," reports Josh J. during his stay at Southlake RV Park.

Site leveling challenges: Some campgrounds require additional equipment for level setups. "Sites were fairly level. I had to use 2 yellow flat blocks on site 1," mentioned Chris H. about Spring Lake RV Resort, indicating that leveling blocks are advisable equipment.

Limited shopping options: Grocery and supply access requires planning. "Nearest grocery is about 15-20 minutes away," Steve V. notes about Windrock Gap, which reflects the rural nature of many rv parks near Lancing, Tennessee.

Tips for camping with families

Kid-friendly amenities: Several campgrounds feature dedicated play areas. "The kids playground is great. The bathhouse is amazing!! There is a nice outside pavilion for common use," Sara E. reports from Paradise on the Mountain RV Park, highlighting facilities that appeal to families.

Tips from RVers

Restaurant proximity: Local dining options vary by campground location. "RM Brooks General Store has Lunch 11-5 Mon-Sat and Breakfast on Sats starting at 830," Josh J. notes about facilities near Brooks Corner Campground, providing a convenient meal option for RVers.

Road condition awareness: Access roads to some campgrounds present challenges. "The sites in the front are far more level than the ones in the back where the green space is located," observes Jovee S. about Maple Hill RV Park, indicating that site selection can impact leveling requirements.

Utility placement variations: Hookup locations differ across campgrounds. "At our particular sight the sewer was toward the front of the sight but I had enough hose to get to it," Tanner H. reports from Caney Creek, suggesting RVers should travel with extended hose options when visiting rv parks in Lancing, Tennessee and surrounding areas.
