Great RV Overnight

Got there on a Tuesday afternoon in June and there were 3 spots taken and 4 available. A couple of spots had tree branches that we didn't want to deal with but no big deal really and the spot we parked in was too far away from the power pedestal to be used. It is next to the city playground and public pool but far enough away that the camping area is quiet. The vault facility has three rooms each with two showers and two toilets. They were clean and the water pressure was great (water was a little brown at first though so let it run before you get in!). It's a small lazy town and we walked to the arboretum and the grocery store. Very quaint little town. Would stay again.

A full-featured city park and campground

I don't think I've ever seen a city park with built-in campgrounds before, but Freeman City Park is a good template for anyplace else that wants to try it. With about 10 or so drive-in/pull-through sites, you can enjoy the amenities of a pleasant city greenspace while also enjoying the outdoors.

The camp sites feature electrical outlets and picnic tables, but fires are limited to a few grills placed around the park and picnic pavilions (no fire pits).

The park features a playground for kids, two volleyball courts, picnic pavilions, a tennis court, and pool (closed for the fall).

As an added bonus, the toilet building not only features plumbing, but showers!

At $10/night for electric sites and $6/night for non-electric/tents, it's a pleasant little oasis if you need a break from full wilderness camping.
