Shakedown trip with new first camper

Great state park. Easy back in some pull through. Spacious clean sites. Many historic hiking trails easy to mod. Horse trails with stables. Bike trails. Lake Craig is nice fishing with rentable Jon boats, kayaks and SUP. No gas motors or swimming. No pool and dump station only. Playground and clean…

Peaceful & friendly

Compared to some other state parks in SC, this one was less crowded and more peaceful. It had rained right before we arrived, and we got stuck in the mud trying to back-in our pop-up on a hill (lake campground #29). The campers all pitched in to pull us out. It was silent at night. Nice hiking…

Beautiful grounds, great facilities

My brother and I went for our first camping trip. The lake was beautiful and clear, the grounds and trails on the park were quaint and well kept, and the bathroom facilities were clean and inviting. We had a great time and met some wonderful people, I highly recommend this spot!

Awesome park location and staff

You will NOT regret visiting this park!!! This is a very well managed park with great staff. Plenty of access to the huge Murray Lake. Plenty of fishing and watersports activities. We visit multiple times a year. Normally every 4th of July for the amazing fireworks, and even for the solar eclipse a…

Very nice campground!

Though the sites are stone that is so over shadowed by the great views of the lake, nice little camp store. Nice tall trees to help cool, come summer. There is a concrete walkway along the lake shore with a few large swings at it’s edge. The walkway leads to a fishing dock. E, W, dump station

Beautiful Night at the North Lake

Nice clear and quiet night at the Ground Cedar primitive site. It's worth the 1.5 mile hike to primitive sites if you don't like camping on top of someone else. No power or running water but there was a small stream 30 ft from the site so getting water to filter was a breeze. There is also a lake…

Awesome campground run by the NICEST family

I have brought family here, planned a girls trip here, planned just nice getaways here.. etc. And I'll keep on coming back because this camping spot is incredible for the cabin or the rv camping experience. The sites are well spaced. The grounds are well planned. Everyone is so nice. It is just…

Great view and campground

We’ve stayed in the fish cabins, complete cabins and campsites. They are fantastic. No sewer hook ups like all state parks in SC but well worth the visit if you can ever get reservations.

Hidden getaway

Quiet. On the lake. Diamond in the rough...though more of a piece of coal than a diamond but that is okay, not into fancy and all the amenities, we camp to get away from society.

Example of what a KOA Holiday park should be.

Stayed there two days in the new section. I can’t speak on other parts of the park but the new section has what looks like 90 foot sites. Motorhome fit on cement pad that had asphalt ramps. Wifi is streaming quality but no cable in new section, which we didn’t need because of the quality of the…
