Lake Greenwood State Park Campground accommodates RVs up to 60 feet with full hookups and provides both drive-in and walk-in site options year-round. The 125-site campground sits on the shores of Lake Greenwood, with paved roads connecting all sites and several bathhouses distributed throughout the property.
Most sites feature asphalt pads with gravel areas for picnic tables and fire rings, though tent campers should expect to pitch on hard surfaces rather than grass. Asia + Jalen B. notes that walk-in sites require only a short hike and advises to "bring lanterns to navigate the dark forest" after dark. The lakefront sites command premium rates but offer direct water access and cooling breezes, while interior sites maintain good tree coverage for shade.
Sites cluster closely together, creating a social atmosphere that some campers enjoy and others find intrusive. Foot traffic moves regularly between sites and along lake access trails during daylight hours. The campground fills completely during holiday weekends and summer months, with reservations opening 13 months in advance for popular dates. Barry B. observed that "almost every camper there had big pull behinds," leaving the bathhouses with two shower stalls each relatively private for tent campers.
Lake Greenwood supports fishing, boating, and paddling, with a boat ramp providing access for larger watercraft. The park maintains a swimming area and playground facilities. Ninety Six National Historic Site sits 15 minutes away by car. Cell service varies by carrier throughout the campground.
