What you should know
Site conditions: Some campgrounds have challenging terrain. "We enjoyed our stay at Croft in May of 2017 - it was plesant and scratches the itch to be out in the woods but nothing to write home about. The tent and RV sites are very close together with no privacy - almost just an open area," mentions Sarah G.
Water access: Availability varies between locations. "There is no running water. The closest water is 5 or 6 miles in either direction, so pack plenty," warns richardhoerz about Sedalia Campground.
Hunting seasons: Several campgrounds become busier during hunting season. "This time of year (hunting season) was full of bigger rigs and generators. The few spots that weren't taken when we first got here eventually got scooped up by about 20 Boy Scouts," reports Samantha S. about Brick House Campground.
Tips for camping with families
Kid-friendly amenities: Some campgrounds offer dedicated recreation areas. "Lots of stuff for the kids to do! Bath house clean and laundry facility great! We will definitely be back!" shares Erica C. about Pine Ridge Campground.
