You'll know this campground is special the minute you drive through the entrance. Azaleas, oaks and loblolly pines give a signature touch to its Lowcountry charm. Nearby, the historic Magnolia Plantation and Middleton Place feature beautiful gardens. Beat the summer heat at Whirlin' Waters Adventure Waterpark (located within North Charleston Wannamaker County Park). Attractions abound in lovely Charleston, where horse-drawn carriages clip-clop along the historic harbor. Tour Fort Sumter National Monument, where the Civil War began, and the aircraft carrier USS Yorktown. Watch the skies for military/commercial planes - you might spot a Boeing 747 Dreamlifter. Bring a group - the campground has a great recreation building with a full kitchen and meeting facilities. An exciting addition is the family lodge - a fun home-away-from-home that sleeps up to eight people. Pool: March 15 - October 15. Max pull thru: 70 feet.

    Lovely park

We both really enjoyed our stay. The dogs loved the dog park and I appreciated having bags to pick up after them. We had trash pickup and sites were easily navigable. Big park with a nice views of the water. They had a play ground, cabins, games. Just a very woodsy cozy place. Would stay again.

    Big campground on the lake

We camped here over the weekend with the pups. The state park has 2 different campgrounds. We decided for the Lakeshore one. It's pretty big with over 100 campsites. They have the usual amenities like fire pit, and picnic table with bench. Our was private, but the sites in the middle are not. The bathhouse was very clean with nice hot showers. The park has several trails, a visitor center, cabins on the water, at least 2 boat ramps with a bait shop. There are no trash cans near the campsites, there is one big dumpster at the entrance of the campground. It's about 1.30h to Folly Beach. We would definitely camp here again.

The park is looking old and not as maintained as in the past.

We have stayed at this park many times. As the park has been for sale for the past five years, the owners are not putting any resources into the park. The park is looking old and not as maintained as in the past. The pool is very dirty and was not cleaned the whole three weeks we were there.(There was a black dirt ring around the pool edge the whole time). Staff(other than Cory) are not friendly at all. They do not wave when driving by in the golf cart, or greet you when you enter the office. The grass used to be beautiful grass. It is now mostly all clover so lots of bees. Cost is$70 a night with a Good Sam discount. One issue is if you are coming from US 17 eastbound, you will need to make a left-hand turn into the driveway through heavy traffic congestion. The sites are large and are not on top of each other. The park has full hook ups and has pull thru and back in sites. The sites are large and are not on top of each other. Our site had a concrete pad but the concrete pad was broken up into large pieces of concrete which makes it hard to level.

Cheap place to stay - temper your expectations

Ok.... So it was only $35 per night, so keep that in mind! IF you meet the qualifications to stay (military affiliated), this is REALLY close to the Navy Nuke School! Yes - the camp hosts are salty, as are some of the long term residents (like the people in the first spot on the right), but... It's $35! Spots are flat, full power and water, bathrooms MAY now be under construction, and the lady you book with in building across from the bowling alley is super sweet! 😁

Small and peaceful under the pines

We stopped heading south and north along I-95 to and from Florida.  Very easy off and on I-95.  Plenty of available spaces in off-season.  The campground is small and quiet.  Camp Host was very helpful. Sites were spaced reasonably far apart but there is no privacy between.  Not all sites have a water view, but most appeared fairly level. Not all sites have sewer access.  Our only complaint was lots of smoke from campfires and grills. Would stay again.

    Camelot Farms Equestrian Center

    Terrible Customer Service

This is such a shame. I have always enjoyed going to Camelot Farms and have been every year for the past several years. I was initially excited to hear Camelot had opened back up the camping facilities and decided that although the price has increased 300% as compared to before the sale, I would continue my tradition of beach riding with my best friend. I contacted Gini Quade who had stated in several posts on FB to reach out and she could facilitate this trip. She also provided a number to call. I have called the number several times this week with no response. I then reached out again through text message and the message was read but no reply. Again, I tried calling only to find out I was provided the wrong number. I reached out yet again through FB to let Ms. Quade know that I was provided the wrong number and requested the correct number. Yet again the message was read with zero response. Unfortunately, the weekend has now arrived and STILL cannot get a response. I will be contacting management. Good luck to all of you who try to plan a trip. I hope you have much more success than I have had. This has been a very disappointing experience.

    Peaceful, good trails

We were at site 46, which is near the entrance and the camp host. Short walk to the bathhouse directly behind. Site has good trees for a hammock and near a path down to the lake for fishing/picnic/swimming. Beware there is a sharp drop off across from the site, so make sure whoever is backing in has a spotter out front.

    1 Nighter

Quick 1 night stay Aug 31, 2023. Fast check in. Nice info packet upon arrival. They even had a free kitchen trash bag in it. They pick up trash at your site. Paved, not completely level, but close. Had enough room to stay hooked up to 36' 5th wheel, plus park a car sideways in front of truck. Just like all KOA's the place is well maintained and spotless restrooms. All employees kind and happy looking. Nice dog park. Had a 30lb propane tank filled at what I would consider a decent price. There were other amenities, but we didn't use them. A little bit of a noisy area, but we've been in worse. Would stay again.

    Convenient location

The location is very convenient to most areas in town. We enjoyed the Fun Park next door. Our campsite was extremely close to the neighbor so a fire was out of the question. Bathrooms were kinda dirty every time we went in there

    great campground!

super easy and quick check-in, we only stayed for one night due to the heat but we loved what we got to see of the park! super family + group oriented which was nice for me and my bf since its just us 2 and kids in the tents around us didnt really come back to the primative area until sundown, so we got to sit by the fire and relax! our dogs loved the beautiful trails. will definitely be back in cooler weather!

Nice, no frills, stop over campsite

We stopped here for a night on our way back to Florida. We were on C5 which was a very large pull through and relatively level. We did not even have to bring out our leveling blocks, the auto leveler was able to handle it well. Power was stable and water pressure was good. Only things we did not like is that every site was just dirt and there was not much shade at our site.

    Perfect place close to Charleston

Perfect place to bring the camper! Very close to downtown Charleston, the beach, and just about everything else. The staff is very friendly and the bath houses are perfect after a long day. I will definitely stay here again on my next trip south. There are plenty of sites available to pick from, from pull through to back in. Definitely worth checking out if you are in the area.

    Dilapidated

We were here in 2018 and park was great. Not so much now. Several sites are out of commission and the grounds are in bad need of maintenance. No bathrooms, showers, laundry, wifi, cable, and Verizon is sketchy. Host is not very helpful. The place is pretty quiet though with only a few rv'ers staying. Pads are cement and level but close together. Can't recommend staying here even for half the money.

    Bells Marina & Resort

Warm Hospitality, Great Fishing, and Wildlife Adventure

I recently spent a week at Bells Marina& Resort, and I have to say it was an amazing experience. From the moment I arrived, the owners were incredibly welcoming and made me feel right at home.

The RV site itself was perfect. I had a great view of the water and was able to watch wildlife every day, from white herons to bald eagles. And the fishing was outstanding! I even caught a trophy-sized bass that made my week.

There was still plenty to do. I loved the community barbecue and pizza oven, and the giant Ring of Fire with the spectacular water fountain in the middle was a great place to socialize and meet new friends.

Overall, I had an incredible time at Bells Marina& Resort. It was the perfect getaway for me, and I can't wait to come back and do it all over again.

I found family and a lake!

When I travel in my Class A RV to a new site finding good customer service is the most important factor. I have visited beautiful camp sites but had a horrible time because I was treated poorly. At Bells Marina and Resort, I am treated like family. I liked it so much that I made it my home base. When you come just ask for Jud or his wife Charlotte and you will feel at home. Jud purchased this property a few months ago and his renovations are turning this hidden gem into a must-see destination. If I was you I would get here now while the rates are so low. I am on the lake and get to kayak or fish whenever I want. Lastly, this is a historical site. It is located in Eutawville. "The mighty Cherokee Indians named the area“Eutaw” for the tall pine trees on the mound in the great bend of the Santee River." https://www.thecolumbiastar.com/articles/historic-eutawville-part-1-indians-marions/

    Live Oaks Campground EBSP

We absolutely love camping at the Live Oak Campground portion of the EBSP. The sites are all spacious, shaded, and clean. The bathrooms are cleaned several times throughout the day (the only thing I don’t like about the bathrooms are the flushers for the toilets - so awkward!). There are trails for walking and biking that are well kept and are ADA accessible. I cannot recommend this place enough. Make sure you have at least one breakfast from Seacow Eatery, enjoy a pizza at Coots, and BBQ from the Briny Swine. McKonkey’s has the best onion rings. For some of the best seafood you’ll eat make sure you go to Flowers just down the road. You can eat it there or get just about anything and take back to your campsite to cook.
