Best RV Parks & Resorts near Fort Gibson Lake, OK

In order to camp here you’ll have to reserve a spot online. This was very easy to do and they show you a picture of the individual campsite online. It’s $33 for a night with a camper/trailer/rv. It may be cheaper to just reserve a tent spot.

We stayed here for one night in our Rooftop Tent. We enjoyed our stay, there are level cement slabs with full hookups. Also every site had a fireplace, a grill and a little table/bench set. We stayed at the lakeside/lakeview loop and had a nice view of Lake Eufaula.

The bathrooms were clean enough, they’re a bit outdated, so I’m sure they’ll never look super duper clean. It was fine though. BUT: non of the women’s bathroom stalls was lockable. (One lock was broken and the other stall’s door couldn’t be closed because the toilet paper dispenser was in the way... I’m sure this is gonna be something they’ll fix before the main season starts again, though) The one shower stall with the best shower head also wasn’t lockable. Showers were warm (water & the room itself).

The campground itself was pretty quiet but about every hour or so we heard a train horn. Which was loud and excessive. Like not one short „choooooo“ but more like a „choooo chooo chooochoochoooo“ for more than 10-15s, all throughout the night.

Overall we had a good time though!

Blue Bill Point was recommended to us last spring (2018), and we've stayed there at least 5 weekends (some extended). The sites are not too close to each other. There are 'full hook-ups," partial, primitive, and day use. We've never encountered loud music or disrespectful neighbors. The swim area is perfect for our toddler grandsons, as it's a slow decline.

I would not recommend this park. Bathrooms are filthy- trash on the floor, clogged toilet for days, showers have pink mold. We asked if we could use their cleaning supplies and never got a response however the next day someone was “cleaning. I use “” because the trash in the women’s showers, mold, soap scum, hair dye, and general dirt was still there. Toilets and sinks weren’t cleaned properly. We had to use their facilities and paid for a week stay (they offer no refunds) so we were stuck unfortunately. The google reviews are very untrue. Not sure who wrote them but that’s what we went off of. If you have a big rig and don’t need amenities and don’t care about overflowing dumpsters then it’ll be a fine stay. Lot of long term trailers. The kids were nice though and my boys enjoyed playing on the playground with them. We had the only space with a giant puddle upon arriving that never did dry up and then it rained 😅

We camped here in the fall and were pleasantly surprised with all the pecans we gathered. It's secluded and quiet with views of the Grand River and Neosho River. Wheelchair Friendly. Roads were paved. If you gold a golf course is just down the street. We walked up to the golf course and stopped for a snack on the way to check out the more primitive campsite across the bridge.

There are 50 amp full hook up pullthroughs. We woke up to deer out our window. No playground but great nature walks around the area.

Sequoyah State Park located just 8 miles from Wagoner Oklahoma has something for everyone. Sitting along the shore of Ft Gibson Lake with more than 19,000 surface acres and 225 miles of shoreline make this a water enthusiast paradise. From power boating, canoe and kayaking, fishing or just hanging at the beach area you will not be dissapointed. The park offers saddle rides, hiking and golf with a huge lodge facility complete with pool and splash area, dining, 104 guest rooms and 45 cottages. Camping is available in 5 campground areas varying from primitive tent camping to full hook up RV and bathhouses. The Choctaw campground sites all have water, sewer, and 50/30 amp electric with concrete pad, table, fire ring. Seminole and Cherokee having a mix of services. Paradise Cove and Chickasaw are for tent camping. There are plenty of picnic areas and playgrounds dispersed throughout and you definitely don't want to miss the Three Forks Nature Center. My wife and I stayed here on a visit to our son and family.  This park seems to be a former Mobile Home park.  There are many mobile homes in the park with full time residents.  The RV sites are spacious as they are former mobile home sites converted to RV parking. Mostly back in but with the size of the lots it isn't difficult.  Back in on the grass, not the small concrete slab as that is the original car parking for the old MH lot. No WIFI but cable hookup is provided.  We would stay here again.

This was the only RV park with openings for the week we were visiting. Easy reservations, no fuss after-hour check in. Laundry room, pool, and free wifi at the main buildings. No wifi at the site, though. No picnic tables, and no change machine in the laundry room. Minor things, but still things we had to figure out without knowing ahead of time. Still nicer than similar residential style RV parks we have stayed at.

I have been coming to Sequoyah for no less than 25 years and always enjoy a nice camping trip back. The first thing about SSS is that it is huge! The park has no less than 4 separate camping areas with completely different amenities and different sides of the peninsula. You can choose to have full hook ups or go more primitive. There is a marina on site that allows you to rent various boats, a pleasant lakeside golf course, a horse stable to take a nice trail ride and that is all before you get to the early state park resort! The most pleasant thing I have seen in years is that this park is actually getting some updates! New trails and trail maintenance were witnessed the last time I was there and the resort went through a renovation several years ago. I would still expect 50's state parkitecture but you have a ton of options for recreation. The camping bathrooms range from decent to non existent depending on which loop you camp in.

Sequoyah State Park on Fort Gibson Lake offers a lot and people come from out of state to visit. There's a lodge, restaurant, golf course, paved trail, dirt trails, campgrounds, marina, and horseback riding in summer. I grew up nearby and still enjoy visiting.

Sequoyah Bay is on the west side of Fort Gibson lake, not far from Wagner. The campsites are space out for privacy and close to the lake. The Corp maintains this campground well. There is a boat dock that provided a nice place to throw your pole in.

For an RV/Trailer camper this place is amazing. Multiple campgrounds within the park. Our favorite is Choctaw with full hookups. Sites are cement and level. All have table, charcoal grill and fire ring. Close to the lake, about 100 yards. Other area are just as good. Other areas don't have septic but each has a dump station. Tent campers have nice areas also.

21 RV spots available around a small, family lake. Water and electric hook ups and clean dump station. Small park/play area and two large pavilions. Hiking trail located at the back of the park. Lake is great for fishing and kayaking. Not a major boating or water sport lake. First come first serve spots. Camp host is helpful and friendly. Calm and quiet stay

(See below for my updates) Great park for anyone wanting to catch a round of golf while camping. Sequoyah is very near Tahlequah, Oklahoma so there’s easy access to food and other shopping needs on a trip. The main pro for Sequoyah is the golf course, which large flows along the shore line of Fort Gibson Lake, over 19,000 acres of water. The course is really well maintained for a state park; however, you should be aware that during a recent trip to another OK state park, I played a round of golf and was told by the course pro that Sequoyah is turning their 18 hole course into a 9 hole course bc the campground is so frequently flooded. To that end, you should definitely pay attention to local rainfall levels prior to visiting Sequoyah if your planning a trip. There are several separate camping areas, all of which are named after a particular Native tribe such as “Seminole area.” Some areas are more prone than others to flooding so you should check with the park before going bc you may very well be limited in what you’re able to do or access if there has been local flooding. Beyond the golf course, the other obvious benefit of this park is Fort Gibson Lake, which is stunning. It’s a paradise for fishermen and boaters. For non water sport enthusiast, there is some great hiking at the park, as well as the Three Forks Nature Center, which my kids loved. The camp sites along the lake are generally for tent campers, but regardless, there is tons of sandy shoreline for swimming and playing in the water. Really pretty area of the park. There’s also a few beach volleyball courts and disc golf, which is a personal fav of mine. Lastly, for anyone not wanting to “camp,” have no fear! The “Lodge at Sequoyah State Park” is very, very, VERY nice and the rooms are reasonably priced for what you get. It was completely renovated recently and now very much looks like something you would expect out of a premier hotel or resort, not a state park. If you have a significant other who suffers through your love of the outdoors, they will LOVE this place and likely ask you when you’d like to return as soon as they arrive.  My wife loves me enough to go camping in our PopUp, but when she learned about the Lodge, that was it no sleeping the popup on this trip.  The room was unreal (see pics). We definitely felt like we were at a luxury resort, not camping.  So to the extent that may bother you, don't stay in the Lodge.  The Lodge is located directly on the water and it has tremendous views of the lake and sunset.  It is also located in close proximity to the volleyball courts and beach area along the lakeshore, which has day use picnic tables everywhere. I should also mention that there is a superb restaurant in the Lodge as well, which I always make note of due to the ease of having at least one meal prepared for us instead of cooking at the campsite while trying to wrangle 3 boys under 4.  Overall, I feel confident in saying that Sequoyah is probably one of Oklahoma’s better parks due to the activities and amenities it offers, the scenery and proximity to a “town” in the event you need something during your trip. We will definitely be going back, whether I want to or not.  My wife is sold! (Updated review) I have since been back to Sequoyah and I decided to upgrade the park to 5 stars. It’s just a beautiful, great park. Tons to do, accommodations for all preferences, swimming, boating, golf, disc golf, horseback riding, boating, fishing, great trails, HUGE park, tons of sites, lots of trees, tons of green space in camping areas, [now has renovated] camping sites for all preferences/sizes of campers, trailers, hookups, etc. (see video). Above all, for anyone in Tulsa or surrounding area (the second most populated city in OK by far), the park is 30 minutes SE. Its also like 15 minutes from Wagoner or Hulbert, in both of which you can easily find food options, groceries, etc if needed. For anyone with or without kids, Sequoyah is a cant miss in this area of the world. I want to check out Sequoyah Bay Park, which is across the lake in a SW’ly direction. I plan to camp at Sequoyah in two weeks so I will drive over to Sequoyah Bay and snag some video/pics for anyone needing more info. Overall, great park with literally everything you could want in a state park.

Quick update: I just camped at this park (June 2020) and it was one of the hottest weekends we’ve had in almost a year. One of the things I wanted to note was shaded campsites. In the Seminole loop (best in park), site 8 is one of the hottest in the park. It gets sun from about 10am to 5pm. There are no trees south of this site so it’s very hot. If you need relief from sun, site 22 is the bomb. Shades all day. Also, site 9 isn’t bad, but it gets a lot of sun in the late afternoon. So I think of all the sites, for temp considerations, site 22 is the way to go. Happy camping!

This Loves RV stop is not at a truck stop so not as much noise. Great sites that are flat and level. 1-15 are full hookup but 16-18 do not have sewer. BUT the train that comes through several times a night uses their horn more than I have ever heard.

Site 95 in Dogwood loop of Lake Eufala is awesome. Only 1 other RV site close by. Rest of campers are half mile away. Unless you need the bathouse regularly it's the perfect spot. Plenty of trees, squirrels, birds, and a few deer. Site is paved but not quite level. It's listed as premium site because of patio and wider driveway. Nearly all others are super narrow with 4-5 inch drop off on either side. I would have been rolling my ankle constantly. You're pretty close to entrance of this campground so road noise could be a problem during peak season. Short drive to lake or you can take one of the trails. Full Hookups were dirty but in good working order.

Dogwood part has full hookups and close walk to lake. Lake view is awesome water and electric no sewer. Tent sites are sweet wooded lots. All October is $5 tent
