    SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

RV parks near Tahlequah provide varying hookup options and site configurations for motorhome travelers. Tenkiller Bluff RV Park features four sites with electric, water, and sewer hookups, while Marval Camping Resort in Gore offers full hookup options for larger rigs with 50-amp service. "The RV sites are level and provide great lake access. Each site has a fire pit and a table and the spacing is what I would consider adequate," noted one visitor about lakeside camping in the area. Dantzyn RV Park maintains 14 sites with electric hookups, picnic tables and allows pets, though several reviews mention the sites throughout the region are positioned quite close to neighboring campers, especially at peak season.

Multiple RV parks maintain paved roads and concrete pads suitable for larger vehicles, though site leveling can vary significantly between locations. While Sasquatch RV Park provides both 30-amp and 50-amp service with sewer connections, shower facilities and laundry, COBB RV Park accommodates big rigs across its 32 sites with full hookups but prohibits campfires. Cell service fluctuates throughout the area with T-Mobile coverage reported as reliable in campgrounds but spotty along hiking trails. One traveler mentioned that "the RV FHU sites in some areas are on top of one another" with barely two feet between slide-outs and neighboring picnic tables, suggesting booking peripheral sites for more privacy. Most parks remain open year-round with advance reservations recommended during summer lake season.

      Rocky Point (ft Gibson)

      Beautiful Lake Shore Campground

Ft Gibson Lake near Wagoner Oklahoma offers six class A campgrounds for RV and tent camping, six marinas, multiple boat ramps on 19,990 surface acres of lake with 225 miles of shoreline. Our visit was to Rocky Point COE with a gated/staffed entry station, multiple camp hosts, day use areas, boat ramps, interior paved roads, RV concrete pads, large table, fire ring, grill, lantern holder, 50/30/15 amp electric and water on class A sites plus tent camping sites complete with shelters, tables, fire rings, grills, dispersed water spigots. The campground had a dump station, bath house and several trash receptacles. Most sites were on the water or had a water view and adequately spaced to enjoy the amazing sunrises and sunsets. We enjoyed site 2A which was a level pull through and big rig friendly. The rocky shoreline is a birders paradise...we had an eagle, three Great Blue Herons and plentiful hawks to name a few. The town of Wagoner has all the essentials to include grocery, fuel, dining and yes, Walmart. Verizon cell coverage was 1- 2 bars. The America The Beautiful Senior Pass is good for 50% camping discount. Recommend a look at Google Maps to plan your route into the campground from Oklahoma Hwy 69 as Garmin and Google are a little wacky. Just follow the signs!! 8568 STATE HWY. 251A, Wagoner, OK 74434 GPS- 36.027978,-95.314844

Wonderful sunsets along the rocky shore.  When the mist is rising over the waters a feeling of peace will wash over you.

There are many water sites, some pull throughs, back in, some paved, some a bit uneven but this is still a great campground. Most site are shaded.

Campers must occupy the campsite at least once during each 24 hour period.

Lake Eufaula is a reservoir on the Canadian River which is upstream from the confluence with the Arkansas River. It is the largest capacity lake in Oklahoma. It has 800 miles of shoreline. The building of the dam began in 1956 and completed in 1964. The Wildlife Nature at the Eufaula State Park is amazing well worth a visit. You will find miles of hiking, biking, ATV, and equestrian trails in the 31,800 acres. There is a great amount of hunting for quail, deer, geese, and duck. Another great stop is the Eufaula Area Museum(temporarily closed due to COVID). An extra little tidbit is that Dirty Jobs filmed “Worm Dung Farmer” in Eufaula on November 14, 2003 and in Season 2 Episode 9 called “Dirtiest Water Jobs” featured “Catfish Noodling of Eufaula.

The lake draws fishermen to test their mettle at large and small mouth bass, Kentucky bass, crappie, catfish, sand bass, strippers, and others. The draw for this area is the great outdoors. Mainly fishing and boating. Fishing tournaments are plentiful. Shopping of just about any type should be far down the list for entertainment. Plan to have a relaxing and peaceful stay.

      Tulsa NE-Will Rogers Downs KOA

      Nice clean campground

Spent one night at this campground. Grounds were clean, restrooms and showers were also clean. The check in office was inviting and pleasing. We didn’t use the laundry facility while we were there, but they are available should the need arise. Bathrooms were locked and secure and passcode was required to enter. Passcode was provided upon check in. Our site was a pull through level gravel pad with full hookups. The off leash dog park was a small fenced in area with a couple of benches. Horse track and casino were well within walking distance from the camp sites. Quiet location, just off the highway. Highway could not be heard from inside our camper.

      Sallisaw-Fort Smith West KOA

      Convenient to I-40

This is KOA, not my favorite place to stop, but they have good, basic facilities, sort of like Motel 6. They are just off I-40, so it was convenient for a one night stop. The sites were level, and were Pull-Thru so we didn’t even unhook. Full hookups, Some shade, a dump station. The shower/bathroom was clean. There is a small store. They also have cabins and tent sites; Free Wi-Fi, cable tv, a pool and playground, and a pond for fishing. There is a small Kamp K9 (dog park). When we were there everything was wet, and the smell of wet creosote from the log yard next door was terrible.

There are many beautiful water sites but you will need to reserve those. The facilities were clean and also well maintained.

The boat launch is a nice are with sufficient parking. Pettit Bay II seems to be older and the sites are not in as good a shape. The campground has sites with electric hookups, and some sites are non-electric. Sequoyah State Park - Marina and Cabins

      Nice campsites!

We had never been to Ft. Gibson Lake so we thought we'd give it a go... and we really enjoyed it. We stayed at Seminole Campground in Sequoyah State Park for two nights at the end of May and had a nice time. The camp host greeted us when we pulled in and gave us the low-down and provided us with maps on the campgrounds and the area.

The campground, was really nice. It was clean, well kept, and quiet. With only one road in and out you'd think the traffic my be kinda bad, but it wasn't. It probably helps that there's not a boat ramp directly in the campgrounds. The sites were spacious and included a nice level concrete pad, a concrete picnic table, a firepit, and a lantern hook. All the sites away from the shore had sewer connections. The ones closest to the water did not, but there's a dump station right outside the campground gate.

Being kayakers we like campgrounds that have easy water access and Seminole campground did not disappoint. The water level was up about 15-20' this particular weekend which made it easy to launch/land and with floating debris due to the water level we pretty much had the lake to ourselves. There are also hiking trails in the area including a paved walking trail.

There's a convenience store a couple of miles away for ice, beverages, etc. It's about 12 miles to the nearest Walmart to pick up those things you forget... we now have dedicated camper pillows.

Since I sometimes need to login to work, I'm always curious about the wifi. While the campground itself doesn't have wifi, I was able to turn on the hotspot feature on my phone and get connected without any problems. We have service through AT&T and didn't have any issues.

The camp host told us that this campground is one of the few that stay open year round so we may be back in the fall for a different view.

      Cookson Bend

      Lake Front Camping

This is a lakeside campground with 2 primary sections terraced so that most campsites have at least a partial lake view. All sites are water/electric with sites 51 thru 57 offering 50 amp and the remaining sites 30 amp. Some of the 30 amp sites share water connections. There are 2 boat ramps and a playground. The dump station is just outside the gate and is in good working order. Cookson Bend has the potential to be a beautiful campground but lacks facility and grounds maintenance. Unfortunately, this is well below the COE's typical standards.

    Guide to Tahlequah

RV camping near Tahlequah, Oklahoma offers sites near Lake Tenkiller and the Illinois River in northeastern Oklahoma's Ozark foothills. Motorhome travelers can find accommodations ranging from rustic parkside spots to established resorts with modern amenities. During summer months when water recreation peaks, temperatures regularly reach 90°F with high humidity, making spring and fall the preferred camping seasons for many visitors.

    What to do

Riverside trails access: Located minutes from rivers, Chouteau Moto RV Park provides easy access to water recreation. "Perfect for your next family vacation as it is only minutes away from rivers to explore," notes one reviewer about the convenient location.

Basketball and walking paths: Some RV parks maintain recreational facilities beyond standard camping amenities. "Great place for kids with three or four trails in the back with a basketball goal and a teepee that was painted by a little girl who stayed there years ago," explains a visitor to Sasquatch RV Park about the family-friendly activities available.

Pet-friendly fields: Several campgrounds offer designated areas for dogs. At Sasquatch RV Park, one camper highlighted the "great field just at the end of one of the trails for pups to run free" where dogs can exercise off-leash in a controlled environment.

    What campers like

Budget-friendly laundry facilities: On-site laundry services save money compared to local alternatives. One Sasquatch RV Park visitor appreciated the "two washers and two dryers (@ $2.50 each that's cheaper than the local laundry mat)" in the bath house.

Level parking pads: Crossroads RV Park receives praise for site quality. "Great sites, quiet campground. Wooded, grass, fenced in dog area, clean grounds," reported one visitor who appreciated the well-maintained campsites and grounds.

Scheduled activities: Family entertainment options vary by season. A visitor to Marval Camping Resort mentioned "Activities all weekend and through the week!!" while another noted specific amenities: "movie theater, horse riding, a train that goes around the park, golf carts, tons of activities for the entire family."

    What you should know

Site spacing variations: Campground density affects privacy levels. At Marval Camping Resort, one camper observed that "Campsites are pretty close together though so we didn't have the space or privacy we like but I know we will go back."

Seasonal crowding impacts: Peak periods can significantly change the camping experience. One visitor reported, "It was beyond crowded (my son couldn't even ride his bike because of the constant amount of cars) and not much to do (a lot of activities closed because of covid)."

Wi-Fi reliability issues: Country View RV Park has connectivity challenges. A long-term visitor noted: "The campground has Wifi, but... we could never use it. There's some really weird delay in everything involving it. Not slow, per se, but delayed. We finally gave up after a couple of days of trying to use it for work."

    Tips for camping with families

Activity planning for children: Entertainment options vary by campground. One Marval Camping Resort visitor highlighted, "This place has everything, movie theater, horse riding, a train that goes around the park, golf carts, tons of activities for the entire family... We go every chance we get, my kids love it."

Swimming pool access: Water recreation extends beyond lakes. A camper at Marval noted the site has a "Swiming pool and all," providing an alternative swimming option when lake conditions aren't ideal.

Bathroom facilities: Dantzyn RV Park provides shower facilities though lacks full restrooms. For families with children, parks with complete bathroom facilities like those at Crossroads RV Park may be preferable.

    Tips from RVers

Site leveling requirements: Terrain varies between campgrounds. One Country View RV visitor reported: "Our pull-through site wasn't super level. Our stairs always felt weird and the back end of the fifth wheel was pretty high. Using jack pads (the yellow Lego style) compensated easily enough."

Big rig accommodations: Several parks specifically accommodate larger vehicles. At Crossroads RV Park, visitors appreciated that the campground is "big rig friendly" with "pull-through sites" that make maneuvering easier for larger motorhomes.

Seasonal maintenance variations: Property upkeep changes with seasons. A Country View visitor observed, "The hosts were out twice during our three weeks mowing all the grass in the area. Each had a riding mower and they were getting it knocked out. Our power junction box had been freshly painted."
