Best Cabin Camping near Wilson, NY

Wilson area campgrounds feature cabin accommodations with varying amenities at locations like Daisy Barn Campground and Four Mile Creek State Park. Most cabins provide basic furnishings including beds, tables, and chairs, while more deluxe options at KOA locations offer additional comforts such as refrigerators and air conditioning. Electric hookups are standard at most cabin sites, with some providing heat for extended season use. Bathroom facilities are typically centralized within the campground rather than inside individual cabins. "This campground is clearly well-maintained. Everything was tidy and clean, from our campsite, laundry room, showers, bathroom, camp store, and walking paths," noted one visitor about Daisy Barn Campground.

Rustic and deluxe cabins are both available, depending on the location. KOA-style cabins at Niagara Falls North/Lewiston KOA and Niagara Falls/Grand Island KOA Holiday provide more amenities than basic options at state parks. Family-sized cabins sleep 4-6 people on average, with some larger units available for groups. Reservations are essential during peak summer months from May through October when most campgrounds operate. Pet policies vary by location, with some cabins designated as pet-friendly while others prohibit animals. A camper commented that Niagara Shores Campground is "beautiful, clean, with amazing sunsets" and offers good lake access.

Most cabins include beds but require visitors to bring their own linens, towels, and toiletries. Kitchen facilities range from simple fire rings with cooking grates to cabins with small refrigerators and microwaves. Camp stores at locations like HTR Niagara Campground and Niagara's Lazy Lakes Camping Resort stock basic provisions, though selection is limited. Firewood is available for purchase at most campgrounds, eliminating the need to transport it. All cabin locations provide access to drinking water, though not necessarily inside the cabin itself. Showers and restroom facilities are centralized and generally well-maintained across all campgrounds in the Wilson area.

Four Mile Creek State Park Campground

    Field Camping

It's not all bad! It took a while to find our site in the dark as site markers are small. The sites are decent size, the bathrooms are clean but spiders will hang out. Showers are hot. Sites are available with electric and there is an RV dump station if you have one. There are a lot of RVs at this campground, a large playground, and a field with soccer goals (no net). Niagara Falls is 15 or so miles away, and Buffalo NY is a short drive. The bathroom building has an outdoor sink with heated water, and this is also where the trash bins are.  Firewood is available in front of many nearby homes (a couple of miles, max,and $4-5 a bundle). The fire pits are either low or leaning, so we found a camp stove to be essential. It can get quite windy, we saw a tent buckle and our stakes were pulled up from the wind. It can get loud at night and it doesn't seem as if quiet hours are enforced. I'd stay again but only if a more private campground was unavailable.

    Niagaras Lazy Lakes Camping Resort

    Clean & Friendly

We have camped here several times. Bathrooms are very clean along with the showers. They are cleaned on a daily basis. Store on site has just the bare amenities. Big clubhouse, 2 heated pools and a pond to fish (catch & release). Sites are big. Pet friendly. Staff are very friendly. 10-15 minutes from Niagara Falls and close to stores. It does have 2 on site laundry facilities but the dryers take a while. Enjoy going there.

    Darien Lakes State Park Campground

    Clean/Quiet Campground

9/25-9/29/22- The park was nearly empty, perhaps 6 or 8 other campers widely spread out. It was immaculate and the sites well spaced apart. All site have a picnic table and fire pit. Ours had both 30A and 50A power, was pretty level left/right but about 6” high in front before we leveled our 34’ fifth wheel. The park has drinking water faucets at a variety of places throughout, but site#15 has a faucet directly next to it, so we had water available too. Both AT&T 4G and Verizon 5G had 3 bars reception. The dump station was clean and convenient. It looked like a great place for kids that included at least one (probably more) playground.

    Good location

Sites are were nice and big but not private at all. I was in site 300, it was like a large lawn with a tree, which was great for shade. Each site has a fire pit and picnic table. Not a lot of privacy. Really nice bathrooms nice showers. Amazing being so close to Lake Ontario.

    Golden Hill State Park Campground

    Quiet Campground Over Lake Ontario

We camped at Golden Hill over the weekend of July 24-26, 2020. Due to COVID, advance reservations are required to book a spot at any NY state campground. We had site 47 in loop C, which was across the road from the lake view sites. I recommend sites 40-45 for lake-front views. Loops A and B were more crowded and more suitable to RV trailers and rigs (we were camping in a pop-up camper). Site 47 was large and had a few trees. The campfire ring was right against the pad, which made it difficult to position our pop-up so that it was away from the fire ring.

Things to consider: There are 2 bathrooms in the campground, one near the A-B loops and one near the entrance. It was quite a hike in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom from our site. Some sites in the A-B loops are right next to each other, and we preferred the space for the sites in the C loop.

Wonderful things: The views are spectacular, particularly at sunset. The campground was quiet at night. The Niagara Wine trail is close to this campground, and Niagara Falls is about a 50 minute drive away. We hiked Devil's Hole and Whirlpool State Parks on this camping trip. The showers in the bathrooms were phenomenal - very clean with hot water and a private dressing area next to the shower. Showers were ADA compliant and had shower seats.

    Niagara County Camping Resort

    Niagra County Camping Resort

Arrived late at night to this established site. This is a mixed accommodation campground with established long term residents & short term sites.

Some sites include a table, power access and tire rim for fire-ring. Showers & flushing toilets are near RV sites in back area. Small camp store, swimming pond & fishing pond. Manager, Christine very nice & helpful.

Campground is relatively close to scenic drives along Lake Ontario & Niagra State Park, Niagra Falls.

We stayed here for five days and had a blast. Gravel roads and pads but level and no issues with mud (it rained). Several laundry rooms, bathrooms, cabins, playground, pond to fish in, paddle boat and bike rentals.

    Beautiful views of Lake Ontario
