Woonton Family Farms is a biodynamic farm in beautiful Skaneateles, NY that was established in 2022. We've been the fortunate host to families and individuals in search of a parking site for their self-sufficient RVs since 2023. We are also excited to announce that our first glamping site will be available in Spring 2025!

Our farm sits on 39 incredibly diverse acres of organic gardens, flower meadows, two varieties of woodlands, as well as a 5-acre wetland with a truly magical mix of wildlife. The farm uses permaculture technics in an effort to create a natural environment encouraging a co-existence amongst all living things to culminate in a harmonious and purely natural setting for growing 100% organic vegetables, fruit, berries, and flowers. Although we haven't yet earned our Certified Organic designation yet, all of our yields begin with 100% organic seeds on a no-till environment. Only the freshest and healthiest farm-to-table foods are grown here.

In 2023 we will begin eco-tours of the farm, the trail system throughout the entire property, and kayaking on the spectacular wetlands. If going into town is more your style, the historic Village of Skaneateles is just a 6 minute drive away.

Come park your RV in our new lot completed in Summer 2024 and have the entire site to yourself or set up a tent in the woods! You'll be our only guests when you stay at our farm.

    Clute Park and Campground

Close to the water, close to your neighbors

Clute Park & Campground is a pretty quite and very clean park. Sites are moderately spacious but a little packed together. Lots of seasonal sites but plenty of RV sites with full hook ups and a nice tenting area that is somewhat seperated from the RVs.

    Finger Lakes RV Resort

Beautiful new spacious RV resort in excellent location.

We arrived on Saturday, 10.8.22 and are staying for a week. This is a delightful location. Rachel and Doug are cheerful, attentive, and very personable owners who are on-site at almost all times. This park just opened this year, so we checked in at an entrance building that they're using until their primary building is complete. We were greeted with delicious cookies, our site(#9) backs up to a wooded area(with a hiking path buried in there) with a lot of space. We booked early, which was a good thing because they were 100% full for Indigenous People's Day. We chose this site because there was a lot of room around it and we're used to really tightly packed RV parks. But what we found is that all of the sites are very nicely spread out with generous spacing, so that's not an issue. It's still nice to be on the outskirts. We also chose this section per a review we read to be away from the main road noise, but there really isn't much road noise to worry about, anyway. The WiFi is strong and consistent. We're using 30amps, but they also have 20 and 50amp service to each site. The water pressure is great. The bath house is new and very comfortable. Each site has a picnic table, a fire ring and lots of room for big rigs. We watched Doug neaten up sites after other RV's vacated, which shows an attention to detail we don't often find. They also drive by each site every morning to collect trash and recycling. The sunsets are spectacular over the lake(we can't see the lake from here, but it's close). There are numerous award-winning wineries surrounding us and up and down the lake. We're headed out for tastings today. We've been hiking the last few days- Watkins Glen State Park- Gorge Trail(go early or it gets REALLY crowded), Taughannock State Park- Gorge& North Ridge Trail over on Cayuga Lake, and a concert(Rufus Wainwright) at Point of the Bluff Winery over on Keuka Lake. We stopped afterward for dinner in Hammondsport at Timber Stone Grill which was truly wonderful. That's about 35- 45 minutes away. Lots more hiking trails to do in the National Forest and surrounding areas. And there's Watkins Glen, a charming town just minutes away. We highly recommend Finger Lakes RV Resort and we'll be back!

Spruce Row Campground and Recreational Vehicle Park

    Big, family friendly

Sites are average, needing levelers to get flat. There are a lot of seasonal rigs here. Many site options from full hook up to primitive sites. There are many family friendly activities including a pool, activities room and hay rides. The sites feel a bit crowded with little privacy. The staff is very nice and helpful. Good for families looking to keep the kids busy, not a quiet relaxing campground.

    Enjoyed

This was my first camping trip with the new travel trailer. I enjoyed it here. Full hook ups for my camper. Unfortunately, due to Covid-19, there is to be no interaction with other campers and a mask must be worn when walking around campground. Everything for the kids was closed due to social distancing. Was an interesting experience.

    Finger Lakes RV Resort

    Quiet and Relaxing

Amazing RV park!I can't stop talking about the Finger Lakes RV park and the great experience we had there. FLRV opened in the last couple years and is a great addition to the camping options around the Finger Lakes. Located about 1/3 of the way up the eastern side of Seneca Lake, the location provides easy access to the wineries, distilleries, and breweries along the lake.

This is a family owned campground and the owners were very friendly and took pride in their business. Fresh baked chocolate chip cookies are included at check-in. The campground sites are very large and spread out. Being a newer campground, the trees are small, but that did not take away from the experience. Easy maneuverability, great wifi and water pressure, along with level sites make it a great place to stay. The bath house is immaculate and rivals those at Fort Wilderness Resort.

Amenities are minimal(no pool, playground, or golf carts), but they are bookended by two wineries with walking paths from the campground. Due to the minimal amenities, it is very quiet and relaxing especially in the evenings sitting around the campfire.

I look forward to returning to the Finger Lakes RV park as this is easily one of our top campgrounds when needing to relax.

    "Green" Lakes

This is a very nice campground. There are many sites with electric available at every site. There are some sites with full hook-up available and also specific areas that allow pets. Swimming is available at the large beach. You can rent a kayak and enjoy the beautiful lake. There are miles of trails to explore. There is a camp store, laundry room, recreation room, playgrounds and much more.

    Green Lakes State Park Campground

    Interesting

A quiet clean spot. Amazing geography (Green Lakes). Well maintained. We took a site that has full hook ups (a first for us—a luxury). These sites are quite spacious. The bathhouses are fairly new and reasonably clean. The sites where we are, are landscaped with some unusual, but well placed, plants. Different. An excellent looking (we don’t golf—so only a perception) golf course resides abutting the park that has a very nice restaurant/clubhouse. There are numerous hiking/biking trails and a boat rental at Green Lake. We will return

    Just Amazing

The sites are all super spacious and private.    The lake and picnic areas area just amazing.  The only downside I could mention is if you area looking for Full hook up you area out of luck.   Only the inner sites had shared water connections out on the loop roads and no sewer connections you has to hit the dump station on the driveway coming in.   If you are prepared for this ahead of time it is not an issue at all.   We stayed for a week and honestly didn't want to leave.

    Lake Bluff RV Park

Friendly staff, nice facilities, in need of updates

Booked a full hookup site a few months ago, but due to a software change I ended up double booked. Initially I was told I was going to be canceled, after I explained I was not local and their free weekend a different time would not work they found a water and electric site. They were very friendly and extremely understanding. My issue came upon arrival. The site I am in is 5” off over 8’ side to side. To find a spot I could level I had to park center of site, leaving a 8’ space wide open on hookup side. We are now on top of our neighbors. The sites are spacious. The staff is amazing. The amenities need updating. But, for the cost, a little work could be put into providing a closer to level site. I don’t need level but the “bubble” was not even close!!!

    Green Lakes State Park Campground

Wonderful hiking, beach, boat rentals, golf, ICE CREAM!!

This state park campground is one of the few that offer full hook ups.

The bathrooms have been remodeled and most are private with a toilet, shower and sink which makes this a wonderful family campground.

The hiking includes an easy 3.1 mile loop with much shade around two glacier formed turquoise lakes ( you need to see them in person to appreciate)

The beach area is wide and shallow in most areas. in close proximity to the store and snack shop (ICE CREAM)

Just past the swimming area is boat rentals ($7/hr for row boat rental)

Golfing is also available on site!

    Finger Lakes RV Resort

    Great for Waterfalls & Wine!

We stayed at Finger Lakes RV Resort in Hector, a short drive from Watkins Glen and Ithaca, in search of waterfalls and wine in the Finger Lakes region of NY state.

This is a fairly new campground, operated by a friendly husband and wife who show great pride in the condition and cleanliness of every square inch.

    THINGS I ESPECIALLY LIKED:

    • Easy drive to Watkins Glen, Lake Seneca, Ithaca, and the greater Finger Lakes region.

    • Everything is in great condition and clean.

    • Daily trash and recycling pick-up from each site.

    • Walking paths from the campground to two different wineries.

    • Really nice pavilion for group gatherings and watching the sunset.

    • We experienced a severe thunderstorm one evening which resulted in an area-wide power outage that lasted a couple days. Of course, the campground had no responsibility or control over this situation, but they refunded everybody a night’s stay as a courtesy. Thanks, Rachael and Doug!

THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE YOU GO:

    • This campground does not offer a pool, jump pad, sports facilities, amenities, or activities. They offer a clean and safe place to stay while visiting the area. For me, this is a positive, not a complaint.

    • There’s no shade from trees or otherwise. If you’re visiting during the summer, be sure your air conditioning and awnings are working.

    • They sell firewood and propane.

    WOULD WE COME BACK?

    • Absolutely, this is a great place to stay for wine and waterfalls.

    Farenbough Review

I am a full timer and have been staying here on/off for past two months. I have found the staff to be accommodating. They offer 30/50 amp sites, also have full hook ups and some primitive sites. They have a well stocked store with grocery necessities, camping necessities, snacks and Hersey ice cream. They have a beautiful in-ground pool, fenced in pond for catch and release fishing and live music one weekend a month. They also have themed weekends. I have enjoyed my stays here. The only bad comment I would make is there water is very smelly and brown. I actually bought a dual stage water filter and change it every two weeks.

    Six Circles Farm (Camp Elderberry)

    Beautiful and peaceful

This was our first experience at a Hipcamp site, but we took advantage of a $30 promotion from REI and decided to try one out. Camp Elderberry is located on an organic vegetable farm in the Finger Lakes region of New York. Weekend tours of the farm are available for a nominal fee. There are two sites here, both quite separate from each other so they are very private. You can camp in an RV or in a tent on the grass. Due to recent rains, the grass was quite tall, so we did not go deep into our site, which had a view of Seneca Lake. No hookups at either site.

Communication with Lael was very good from the beginning, and he met us as we arrived to help us get settled. We arrived much later than planned due to a flat tire, so we did not spend much time exploring the property. There is also a ½ mile hike to the beach that I would have explored if we had arrived earlier. I had read there is a porta-potty, but we did not use it. There is also potable water and a cold-water shower. No WiFi, but the cell signal was strong on Verizon. There are many wineries nearby but again, because of our late arrival, they were all closed when we got there.

We have been exploring a variety of camping options including Tentrr, Harvest Host, RV parks, Corps of Engineers campgrounds, county parks, state parks, and national parks. Hipcamp campsites vary widely by accommodation and price. The price for Camp Elderberry was not unreasonable ($50) but is more expensive than most standard (non-private) campsites. We did enjoy the unique experience, however!

    Watkins Glen / Corning KOA

Great Camp to make as base camp for adventures in the area

Watkins Glen/ Corning KOA this is a nice KOA in the Watkins Glen area. Our site was a full hookup site. Campground offered clean sites with gravel drives and grass areas between them. Offers your typical KOA amenities with a huge outdoor pool, indoor pool and hot tub, water slide, rock wall structure, zip line and mini golf which were part of our site fee price.

Things to do in the area Watkins Glen State park(hiking, biking and scenic views of the falls and gorge), Seneca Lake(one of the finger lakes), Watkins Glen International Speedway, Corning Glass Museum(Corning, NY), Montour Falls(Montour Falls, NY), Sunset View Creamery(Farm Tour and Store).

    Great Campground

Well maintained and friendly staff. Clean facilities. Most sites can accommodate large rigs with full hookups. Reservations recommended especially during summer weekends. Well priced $42 per night for full hookups. Campground offered two free hours of WiFi which is week but is currently being updated. This campground offers a well maintained-non heated pool although costs $2 per person to use even for campers. Overall excellent campground

    Pinecreek Campground

Beautiful Park, beautiful area could be so much more with a little effort!

Pinecreek is a beautiful park in a great area 10 minutes from downtown Ithica New York and Lake Cayuga. The area has everything you could possibly want or need. Fabulous State Parks with spectacular waterfalls, a farmers market right on the lake front, Cornell University and so much more. That being said it may be the reason the campground doesn't offer any planned activities. They do have a swimming pool and what appears to be a large clubhouse/meeting area that is not or was not used while we were there, nor were any activities publicized. They do have a small arcade but it did not stay open past 8 pm and did not appear to be air-conditioned.

Our campsite was a full hookup with a large grassy area for setting up our outside chairs and picnic table. Although we enjoyed our stay we felt it was a bit overpriced for not having much to offer. They also have a very long list of rules & while they do allow pets there is a list of breed restrictions you need to be aware of before booking a reservation. They also charge for electricity on any stays one week or longer which we had not encountered previously at campgrounds where we have stayed.

Overall we enjoyed our stay but not sure we would stay again.

    Great place to stay

I’ve stayed here in the pine woods loop 3 times with my family. Some sites are a bit small and some are spacious so look them up on the website. They offer electric only in that loop but have full hookups in an open area. The bathrooms are nice, new and clean. You might find a wait because they don’t have a lot of them. The lakes and beach are beautiful and there’s a nice wide trail that would be good for handicapped people as well. Great opportunities for photo ops. I highly recommend.

    Cayuga Lake State Park Campground

    Quiet, Beautiful, Something for Everyone

We have stayed in the 300 Loop and 400 loop on different occasions. These are non-electric tent camping loops, bathrooms are a short walk from spots, if you have kids there is a playground by the more open spots in the inner part of each loop or you can stay in the more secluded outer ring of the loops. We loved these spots and for anyone camping in the Finger Lakes region I would definitely recommend Cayuga Lake State Park. They have cabin and RV spots as well but we prefer tent camping.

This is a nice campground. I mean really nice. Very well thought out. All sites are full hookups (i think) and paved. Definitely geared towards the RV or trailer crowd.

Very well kept up, bathrooms are very modern and well stocked. Staff are attentive and useful, and they operate a great store with lots of options.

For activities, there are some great hikes around the campground, as well as excellent playgrounds, fishing, an awesome pool, and of course, free shuttle rides to the Turning Stone Casino right up the street.

The only real negatives would be the proximity to some railroad tracks, which can be somewhat active and very audible in some spots (you'll want to stay towards the south / front of the park if this kind of thing bothers you). That and some sites aren't that close to a bath house, so if you're not planning on duecing in your box, you might be looking at a longer walk than others based on where your site is.

    Green Lakes State Park Campground

Gorgeous lakes with hiking trails and nice campsites

Full hookup camping loop is nice. Sites could be a little larger but it’s ok. Restrooms and showers could be cleaned a bit more. But I have a shower in my camper so it won’t hold me from camping there again. Lots of hiking and the beach is ok. Playgrounds are decent. Overall a nice place to camp and stores are 5-10 minutes away if you need anything.

    Taughannock Falls State Park Campground

    Below average SP campground

As for RV camping, this place is outdated. Sites are on top of one another, but some have good shade. Ours, site 6 didn't. Really can't walk to beach area or store. Cheap enough at $25. T-storms knocked out power overnight.

    Flint Creek Campgrounds

Great activities, friendly hosts, full hook ups!

Close to wine country you will find this gem of a family campground. Dog and kid friendly with activities such as wagon rides, arts and crafts, movie night and various themed weekend events. The hosts were super friendly and welcoming during our entire stay. An easy back in site with full hookups (B10) backed against a row of trees and a field that provided much entertainment of squirrels and birds. There is a camp store with very reasonable prices and accepts credit cards. Wood ($4) and ice ($2) are also for sale. There are two small cabins to rent along with a couple of family tent sites. The bathrooms/showers were clean near the camp store. Amenities include a pool, mini golf ($1/person), two playgrounds, horseshoes, a recreation center with games and movies, basketball and shuffle board. There are many seasonal campers at this campground, but all seemed friendly and welcoming as well. It truly seemed like one big happy family there.
