Best RV Parks & Resorts near Owego, NY

Hickories Park Campground provides 30/50-amp full hookup RV sites near the Susquehanna River in Owego, with water, sewer, and electric connections. The campground operates from April through October and features drive-in access suitable for larger rigs. Pine Valley RV Park & Campground offers spacious lakeside pull-through rv pads approximately 15 miles northwest of Owego in Endicott, while Belden Hill Campgrounds in Harpursville includes big-rig friendly sites with both 30-amp and 50-amp electrical service. Most RV sites throughout the region include picnic tables and fire rings, with gravel pads being the standard surface. "Lakeside sites are spacious and reasonably priced," noted one camper about Pine Valley.

Full hookup rv camping requires planning as several parks operate seasonally, typically closing from late October through April. Sites at most campgrounds fill quickly on summer weekends and during fall foliage season. Sanitary dump stations are available at most parks, though some smaller facilities may have limited dumping hours. For RV owners requiring propane, services are generally found in nearby towns rather than at the campgrounds themselves. Cell service varies throughout the region, with better connectivity at parks closer to Owego and more spotty coverage in outlying areas. Pet policies differ between facilities – Hickories Park and Pine Valley welcome pets, while some impose breed or size restrictions. One visitor mentioned that at Hickories Park, "the campground is well maintained, and I felt very safe," though noted proximity to highway noise.

    Stony MT Family Campground

    We’d do it again!

Not cheap but we’ll within area norms. This camp has many long term campers that are friendly and helpful and some have children with them. Some full-time rigs are weekend campers. Some weekend events are planned. Most sites have full hookups with 50 amp electric only so if needed have an adapter (available at the small camp store. We had an unplanned extension on our visit that included a weekend where a group was scheduled and the park was booked including our site. The friendly staff worked to ensure a temporary site for us for the weekend.

    Pine Cradle Lake Family Campground

Great campground in PA northern tier

The owners do a fantastic job keeping the campground shipshape. Restrooms/showers are immaculate any time of day. Heated swimming pool and the splash pad for kiddies is spotless as well. Nice, pull-through on gravel pad withfull-hookups that can take large rigs. Lake is lovely for fishing/kayaks/canoes. Seasonal campers are tidy. Only a few tent sites with water & electricity tucked into woods. Larger pull-through sites don't get a lot of shade, but there are back-in sites for shorter campers in wooded sites and shaded lake front, as well. Campground store sells ice-cream & nachos and supplies. Campground is pretty quiet during the week, but fills up on weekends with guests using own (or renting) golf carts. Activities on weekends. The campground sits atop one of NEPA's "rolling hills" in quiet, rural farming area. Cell service is spotty. Local winery/cafe just down the road for tastings and lunch. Row boat, paddle boat rentals.

    Chenango Valley State Park Campground

Well maintained NY state campground; good for family camping

We were just passing through on a rainy night, but this park would be a good choice for a multi-night stay.

    Activities for a Multi-Day Stay

    • Swimming in the lake, golfing, boating, fishing, multi-use trails for hiking or mountain biking

    • You're only about 20 minutes from the Binghamton/Johnson City area. For us, that means food and craft beer.

Sites in the Chipmunk Camping Area

    • Parking pads in the non-electric section are dirt/grass. Some of the pads are short; this section is geared toward tent campers. We found a site long enough to easily accommodate our vehicle and teardrop trailer (30 ft total) since we didn't want to detach for a one night stay. Even if the pad wasn't that long, there are other pads wide enough to handle a vehicle and trailer like ours side by side.

    • Parking pads in the electric loops (30 amps and 50 amps) have a good amount of gravel.

    • We usually prefer sites on the outer part of a loop, and this was no exception. The sites have more trees.

    Amenities

    • Electricity at about 1/3 of the sites

    • Pretty good restrooms/showers

    • Water spigots on the loops and more water at the dump station

    • Trash disposal

    • Playground at the beach area, not the campground

    Wildlife

    • Beware of raccoons. They are brazen thieves here...and every campground they inhabit. Just don't leave your food out.

    • The park brochure warns of the occasional bear but that's true even in towns all over NY. I doubt you'll see one.

    • Deer are all over. Watch out for them on the roads. We had four that were feeding behind our site in the morning.

    Finger Lakes RV Resort

Beautiful new spacious RV resort in excellent location.

We arrived on Saturday, 10.8.22 and are staying for a week. This is a delightful location. Rachel and Doug are cheerful, attentive, and very personable owners who are on-site at almost all times. This park just opened this year, so we checked in at an entrance building that they're using until their primary building is complete. We were greeted with delicious cookies, our site(#9) backs up to a wooded area(with a hiking path buried in there) with a lot of space. We booked early, which was a good thing because they were 100% full for Indigenous People's Day. We chose this site because there was a lot of room around it and we're used to really tightly packed RV parks. But what we found is that all of the sites are very nicely spread out with generous spacing, so that's not an issue. It's still nice to be on the outskirts. We also chose this section per a review we read to be away from the main road noise, but there really isn't much road noise to worry about, anyway. The WiFi is strong and consistent. We're using 30amps, but they also have 20 and 50amp service to each site. The water pressure is great. The bath house is new and very comfortable. Each site has a picnic table, a fire ring and lots of room for big rigs. We watched Doug neaten up sites after other RV's vacated, which shows an attention to detail we don't often find. They also drive by each site every morning to collect trash and recycling. The sunsets are spectacular over the lake(we can't see the lake from here, but it's close). There are numerous award-winning wineries surrounding us and up and down the lake. We're headed out for tastings today. We've been hiking the last few days- Watkins Glen State Park- Gorge Trail(go early or it gets REALLY crowded), Taughannock State Park- Gorge& North Ridge Trail over on Cayuga Lake, and a concert(Rufus Wainwright) at Point of the Bluff Winery over on Keuka Lake. We stopped afterward for dinner in Hammondsport at Timber Stone Grill which was truly wonderful. That's about 35- 45 minutes away. Lots more hiking trails to do in the National Forest and surrounding areas. And there's Watkins Glen, a charming town just minutes away. We highly recommend Finger Lakes RV Resort and we'll be back!

Blueberry Patch Campground — Green Mountain & Finger Lakes National Forests

    Simple

The only Finger Lakes National Forest designated campground, Blueberry Patch offers a secluded experience in the heart of this sometimes overlooked beautiful geographic region in the State of New York. This campground offers a simple experience, with fire rings and picnic tables at each site and seems to accommodate just tent and small campers. Vault toilets available. On a week day in early summer, 3 of the 9 campsites we’re occupied. Can see it filling up on weekends. Enjoy!

    Montrose Campground

Family and pet friendly year-around campground

We tried this campground a few times for short stays and ended up going seasonal last year and will do the same this year. It is a little off the beaten path but is great for families (plenty of activities for kids) and pets (our dog LOVES it there). They have a pool, fishing pond, hiking trails, mini golf, playground, large grassy areas for kids to play, and horseshoe pits. There is a store (stocked with grocery staples/snacks but also TONS of RV specific supplies/parts), laundry and showers (a new and improved bath house is currently being built). There are planned activities almost every weekend during the 'season' but they are open all year with some winter sites available. They have all sites available from tent right up to 50 amp full hook-ups. I can't wait for the new season to begin in April!

    Ferenbaugh Campground

    Relaxing place to stay

This CG has two distinct sections. Near the entrance is the Pull Through Area. Behind a row of trees there are several sites with full hookups including cable TV and Wi-Fi. The sites are open, reasonably level, and a good size. The other sites are in the woods, most of these sites do not have sewer connections. There is a honey wagon service available. We camped with a relative who was new and we were teaching them how to operate their camper. We had a couple of dry days then some rain. Still was a great teaching/learning experience.

Make sure you use a water filter, there was a lot of sediment in the water when we were there. See pictures of 4 days on a new cartridge.

We had a fantastic sunrise one morning.

    Watkins Glen State Park Campground

Watkins Glen State Park, New York

Campers arriving at Watkins Glen State Park are immediately captivated by its dramatic gorge scenery, where 19 waterfalls cascade through narrow stone walls. Their campsites are nestled among hardwood forests, offering a perfect balance of sunlit clearings and shady retreats. Each site comes equipped with a picnic table and fire ring, making it easy to prepare meals after a day spent exploring the park’s famous Gorge Trail. The park’s facilities blend rustic charm with modern comforts: clean flush toilets, hot-water showers, and convenient potable water stations. Hiking enthusiasts appreciate the interconnected trail system, which includes the popular Rim Trail for elevated views of the gorge, as well as more secluded footpaths through hemlock groves. Families particularly enjoy the nearby swimming pool and easy-access picnic areas overlooking Seneca Lake. To simplify travel logistics for out-of-state visitors, many campers opt to pre-book an airport transfer so they can arrive at Ithaca or Elmira–Corning Regional Airport and head straight to the park without the hassle of car rentals. Those planning to explore multiple stops along the Finger Lakes often choose the provider’s reliable city-to-city rides for comfortable, door-to-door transportation between destinations. All in all, Watkins Glen State Park delivers an unforgettable combination of awe-inspiring gorge hikes, well-appointed campsites, and family-friendly amenities. Campers seeking both adventure and relaxation will find this New York treasure hard to surpass.

What to do

Fishing opportunities: Hickories Park Campground offers easy access to the Susquehanna River for anglers. "Nice, pull-through on gravel pad with full-hookups that can take large rigs. Lake is lovely for fishing/kayaks/canoes," notes a camper about nearby Pine Cradle Lake Family Campground.

Water activities: The water features at Pine Valley RV Park make it popular with families. "They have hayrides in the summer and swimming in the lake... The owners are always accessible," reports one visitor. At Pine Cradle Lake, "You can rent non electric boats and they offer catch& release fishing without a PA license in the lake."

Wine tasting: For those seeking adult activities, the Finger Lakes region offers numerous wineries. "Finger Lakes RV Resort opened in the last couple years and is a great addition to the camping options around the Finger Lakes. Located about 1/3 of the way up the eastern side of Seneca Lake, the location provides easy access to the wineries, distilleries, and breweries along the lake."

What campers like

Clean facilities: "The bath house is immaculate and rivals those at Fort Wilderness Resort," notes one camper about Finger Lakes RV Resort. Another mentions, "This is a family owned campground and the owners were very friendly and took pride in their business. Fresh baked chocolate chip cookies are included at check-in."

Natural settings: Tent campers particularly enjoy wooded sites. "I chose this campground because the photos of the pool/splash pad looked fun. It turns out the tent site we had was the most wooded and cozy site we have camped in all year," shares a visitor about Pine Cradle Lake Family Campground.

What you should know

Seasonal operations: Most rv sites near Owego, New York operate on limited schedules. Aspen Family Campground runs "May 12 to September 30," while Belden Hill Campgrounds operates "Apr 1 - Oct 30." Make reservations well in advance, especially for summer weekends.

Tips for camping with families

Water-based activities: Buttermilk Falls State Park Campground provides natural water features. "The falls are always fun, despite the lack of impressive height. The fact they're integrated into the swimming area is a unique feature," notes one camper. Pine Valley RV Park offers "giant swimming inflatables, putt putt even a giant slide. All part of the price of the campground."

Playground access: Many local campgrounds feature play areas. One family notes, "Our campsite is AMAZING! Everything is clean, neat and organized. The fishing is good, and the turtles are eager to help themselves to your bait."

Private bathroom facilities: Families with young children appreciate certain campground layouts. At Pine Cradle Lake, "The restrooms were fantastic too, the buildings held two complete rooms with a toilet sink and shower in each. It's the only shower camping this year my 4yr old wasn't afraid of because we had the whole room to ourselves."

Tips from RVers

Site selection: When booking rv sites near Owego, consider specific site locations. "Easy access off I-88 friendly owner, friendly seasonal people. Pull thru full hookup, level, spacious. Room for pop up canopy and games. Great views of the mts," notes one RVer about Belden Hill Campgrounds.

Utility reliability: Power and water quality vary between parks. "Good working utilities on nice sites. The views from the campground are great," reports an RVer at Belden Hill. At Riverside RV Campground, "This place is right on the river and the freeway! So it's kind of loud the people are super friendly and had fresh vegetables and home baked goods available."

Big rig considerations: Many campgrounds accommodate larger vehicles with varying levels of convenience. "They let us book an RV site and it was rough setting up on a gravel RV site but we understood that we were not within a normal tent element and placed an extra tarp under the tent," explains a camper who typically uses a truck tent but stayed at an RV site.
