Best Cabin Camping near Albion, NY

Several state parks and private campgrounds near Albion, New York provide furnished cabin rentals with varying amenities. Letchworth State Park Campground offers spacious cabins with bunk beds, stoves, refrigerators, and fireplaces, each with its own fire ring and picnic table. Golden Hill State Park Campground features cabins with lake views, particularly from sites 40-45 which offer prime Lake Ontario vistas. Medina-Wildwood Lake KOA provides more modern cabin accommodations with electrical hookups and kitchen facilities. "The cabins are spacious, with bunk beds, a stove, fridge, and a fire place. I thought they might be close together, yet they were all pretty private," notes one Letchworth visitor. Most cabins include basic furniture and electrical outlets, while bathroom facilities are typically centralized within campground loops.

Rustic and deluxe cabins are both available throughout the region, with operating seasons generally running from May through mid-October. Letchworth State Park maintains over 80 cabins across five loops, with specific loops (100, 200, and 700) designated as pet-friendly with a two-dog limit. Reservations for pet-friendly cabins fill quickly during peak summer months. Four Mile Creek State Park Campground and Darien Lakes State Park Campground offer cabin options with proximity to natural attractions. KOA properties provide standardized cabin rentals with more predictable amenities. A visitor to Letchworth noted, "We stayed in a cute cabin with running water, a stove, and a heater for cold nights! Outside we had a picnic table and a campfire pit."

Most cabins require guests to bring their own bedding, pillows, towels, and cooking utensils. Basic cabins typically include beds, tables, chairs, and sometimes refrigerators, but kitchen supplies are rarely provided. Campground stores at Letchworth, Sleepy Hollow Lake, and Niagara County Camping Resort stock essential items, though selection is limited and prices tend to be higher than in town. Firewood is often available for purchase on-site or from local vendors within a few miles of most campgrounds. For extended stays, the towns of Medina and Albion have grocery stores for more comprehensive shopping needs. Cabin campers should also pack flashlights, insect repellent, and appropriate seasonal clothing, as heating and cooling systems vary significantly between properties.

    Letchworth State Park Campground

A little gem with a lot to do

Cabin campers here at letchworth for the past two years. We stumbled on cabin camping at letchworth due to weekends being booked for almost the entire summer for tent spots. the cabins are spacious, with bunk beds, a stove, fridge, and a fire place. i thought they might be close together, yet they were all pretty private, with a fire ring and picnic table. There was a beautiful updated playground, and clean bathrooms. Last summer they had just opened the new nature center with guided hikes, and activities all summer long.

Great for the falls, swimming, hiking, white water rafting, kayaking and so much more!

Four Mile Creek State Park Campground

    Field Camping

It's not all bad! It took a while to find our site in the dark as site markers are small. The sites are decent size, the bathrooms are clean but spiders will hang out. Showers are hot. Sites are available with electric and there is an RV dump station if you have one. There are a lot of RVs at this campground, a large playground, and a field with soccer goals (no net). Niagara Falls is 15 or so miles away, and Buffalo NY is a short drive. The bathroom building has an outdoor sink with heated water, and this is also where the trash bins are.  Firewood is available in front of many nearby homes (a couple of miles, max,and $4-5 a bundle). The fire pits are either low or leaning, so we found a camp stove to be essential. It can get quite windy, we saw a tent buckle and our stakes were pulled up from the wind. It can get loud at night and it doesn't seem as if quiet hours are enforced. I'd stay again but only if a more private campground was unavailable.

    Letchworth State Park Campground

    Cute cabins and amazing views

We stayed in a cute cabin with running water, a stove, and a heater for cold nights! Outside we had a picnic table and a campfire pit. The park itself has amazing hiking with awesome views. Highly recommend!

    Letchworth State Park Campground

    Beautiful place

Letchworth is absolutely stunning. The views are beautiful, however the scenic areas are at least a 10 minute drive from the campground. The park is massive.

There is a huge variation in site sizes. We lucked out and got a large site with privacy and an area for the kids to run around, however the site directly across from us was little more than the gravel pad and fire pit. Some of the sites are right on top of each other. Great for group camping, not so much if you want any privacy.

Only two out of the 8 loops (200 and 700 loops) have updated bathrooms (single toilet with handheld showers in half of the bathrooms). The others loops have older facilities with three traditional toilet stalls and two showers.

We loved our site but would’ve preferred to stay in a loop with the updated bath houses as we have younger children and a tent trailer.

All sites have electricity. Some loops are pet friendly, some are pet free. The camp store has a good selection of necessities, albeit expensive for discount brands. The pool is 4-5 miles down the road from the camping area.

    Would absolutely camp here again.

    Niagaras Lazy Lakes Camping Resort

    Clean & Friendly

We have camped here several times. Bathrooms are very clean along with the showers. They are cleaned on a daily basis. Store on site has just the bare amenities. Big clubhouse, 2 heated pools and a pond to fish (catch & release). Sites are big. Pet friendly. Staff are very friendly. 10-15 minutes from Niagara Falls and close to stores. It does have 2 on site laundry facilities but the dryers take a while. Enjoy going there.

    Conesus Lake Campground

Camping with amenities, close to fun

This is your typical Mom and Pop family campground, there are rules to follow but they do not hinder on your experience. They have a well stocked camp store, boat rentals, golf cart rentals, an indoor heated pool, jump pad, playgrounds, a hiking trail and frisbee golf. The bottom portion of the campground has mostly seasonal campers and cabins. You do have to go up a pretty steep hill to get to the 'transient' camping section, but there are many pull through, level, full hook up sites to choose from. ( We had site 250 and really liked it) The bathrooms were toilet/shower combos and were very clean. Attractions close by is a drive-in with 4 different screens, many places to eat, parks ( Vitale Park was really nice), a fun center with mini golf, go carts, batting cages, laser tag and arcade. We also experienced the local flea market in Avon, NY. It's HUGE!

    Darien Lakes State Park Campground

    Clean/Quiet Campground

9/25-9/29/22- The park was nearly empty, perhaps 6 or 8 other campers widely spread out. It was immaculate and the sites well spaced apart. All site have a picnic table and fire pit. Ours had both 30A and 50A power, was pretty level left/right but about 6” high in front before we leveled our 34’ fifth wheel. The park has drinking water faucets at a variety of places throughout, but site#15 has a faucet directly next to it, so we had water available too. Both AT&T 4G and Verizon 5G had 3 bars reception. The dump station was clean and convenient. It looked like a great place for kids that included at least one (probably more) playground.

    Letchworth State Park Campground

    Good Camping inside the Park

The campgrounds are conveniently located inside the Park so easy to get to the amazing falls towards the south as well as the dam in the north. We were in loop 300 which does not allow pets. Decent bathhouses right opposite our site. Our site was a gravel drive with a grassy area containing the picnic table and fire ring. Unfortunately due to rain the day before the grass was extremely muddy which make it hard to get to the fire ring. There was also white a lot of noise from adjacent sites, we could hear everyone's conversations and screaming kids. There was a laundry facility but no dishwashing.

Four Mile Creek State Park Campground

    Good location

Sites are were nice and big but not private at all. I was in site 300, it was like a large lawn with a tree, which was great for shade. Each site has a fire pit and picnic table. Not a lot of privacy. Really nice bathrooms nice showers. Amazing being so close to Lake Ontario.

What You Should Know

Varying distances to bathrooms: Cabin locations relative to restroom facilities differ significantly between parks. It was quite a hike in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom from our site," notes Leah L. about Golden Hill State Park.

Seasonal considerations: Most cabins near Albion operate from May through mid-October. Letchworth State Park Campground runs from "May 6 to October 16" according to official listings. As one visitor notes, "We stayed in a cute cabin with running water, a stove, and a heater for cold nights!"

Reservation timing: Cabins book quickly, especially during summer months. "Due to COVID, advance reservations are required to book a spot at any NY state campground," noted a camper from 2020, though reservation requirements remain standard practice at most parks today.

Tips for Camping with Families

There was a Christmas in July theme and the Christmas lights were honestly annoying. Sunday night rolled around though and everything changed," reports Megan T. about Medina-Wildwood Lake KOA's cabin area.

Tips from RVers

Shared amenities: Cabin and RV areas often share facilities. Darien Lakes State Park Campground offers both RV and cabin options with similar amenities. "There is a fairly new Frisbee golf course as well. This campground would be a good alternative to paying the high prices to stay at the theme park down the road," notes Jeremy H.

Utilities vary by site: Cabin utilities differ significantly between locations. "Site Details: We stayed on site#79, which was an electric site with a nice lake view. Our row of sites was separated from Lake Ontario by a large, open field. The sunset views over the lake each evening were spectacular," reports Jen V. about Four Mile Creek State Park, where cabins and RV sites have similar electrical options.

Seasonal site availability: RV sites often overlap with cabin areas, creating competition for reservations. "This is a very large and popular campground, and to my surprise it didn't empty out much during the week," notes one camper about the demand at Four Mile Creek State Park.
