RV camping near De Borgia ranges from full hookup resorts to free RV parking with electrical connections, giving travelers flexible options across this mountainous corridor. Nugget RV Resort near St. Regis provides full hookup RV sites with electric, water, sewer connections, and big-rig access across its premium and standard site categories. The gravel sites include small grass areas with picnic tables, and the resort offers a pool, hiking trails, disc golf, and other recreational amenities. Several miles west, the 50,000 Silver Dollar Campground provides free RV parking with electrical hookups behind their restaurant complex, though water and sewer connections are not available at these sites. Campground St. Regis, open March through mid-October, accommodates large motorhomes with pull-through sites and complete hookups including 50-amp service. "Sites are far apart. There's a vault toilet, potable water, no RV sanitation dump," noted one traveler about Thompson Falls State Park.

Most RV parks in this mountainous region experience seasonal closures during winter months, with limited year-round options. Cell service varies significantly throughout the area, with visitors reporting 2-3 bars on Verizon at some locations while others have minimal coverage. Train noise affects several campgrounds, particularly those along the Clark Fork River corridor. Rimrock Lodge RV Park has received mixed reviews regarding site layout, with one visitor describing the spots as "awkwardly laid out which seemed to confuse quite a few people." Between Thompson Falls and St. Regis, several RV parks accommodate larger motorhomes, though navigation through mountain passes may require careful driving, especially during snow season when conditions can close major routes like I-90.

Informal Dispersed Campsite at Fish Creek Properties Montana State Park

Big Spot adjacent to the road, Good if in a pinch

Sign says camping permitted to 14 days in a 30 day period. Adjacent to dirt road with a few trees in between. Not the most private but a good option if you need a place for the night if the nearby campsite is full. No amenities. T-mobile cell service is good here.

River access just at the entry of the turn in. Could easily pull a big rig in but may have a hard time turning it around as there is not a pull through. There is a concrete slab that is level and about 12'x25' in size  which could be good for a trailer or van without having to do much for leveling. Many vehicles/tents could fit here in the dirt area but would likely be comfortable for a single group rather than multiple camp groups.

      50,000 Silver Dollar Campground

      A free spot

We stopped here on our way out of Montana (our home state). A winter storm rolled in and made the pass impassable. This is a FREE RV park with electric hookups…no water, cable, or dumping station, but again, FREE. The snow was hitting hard and having electricity was a lifesaver. There is a really good restaurant and bar here as well as a truck stop and gas station. We have a Class A and the spots were plenty big. Lots of dog walking areas too. Perfect in an emergency and great for a short stay. No long terms and is first come first serve.

      Nugget RV Resort

      We Gave Nugget a Try

We decided to stay here because we’ve seen this campground(CG) featured the last five year’s we’ve been on the road by CG review websites, travel forums, and big-name RV bloggers. So we thought we’d give Nugget a try. We followed our RV GPS to the CG that is near I-90, but far enough away that you don’t hear highway noise. There was another camper checking in when we arrived, but check-in was fairly quick and thorough. There was a sign about being a Good Sam Member and we had to ask to get the discount as that option was not available for the online reservation. We then had a very friendly escort to pull through site 63 with FHUs, which is supposedly a premium site. This gravel site has a little grass yard with a picnic table. The site is across from a community fire pit and couple of their little trail heads. When we were there in July, there was a fire ban so not having a site fire pit was no big deal. The utilities are nicely placed in the middle of the pad. Water pressure is good at about 50 psi. We got 2 to 3 bars on Verizon. As there are a lot of mature pine trees in this CG, satellite is iffy. Our campsite was at the north end of the CG facing the woods, so we used our Verizon MiFi versus Starlink. We probably could have gotten the Starlink to work if we put the antenna on our roof, but as we were only here for three nights, we didn’t try. There’s a nice trail system around the CG to walk with your kids and it is dog friendly. They offer a lot of amenities of which laundry was one that we did use. There’s a nice 9-hole golf course just down the road. They used to let veterans golf for free on Wednesdays, but now charges vets only$5. The CG also had a food truck one evening that was convenient. We wanted to see what all the hype was about and we got the chance. This CG has a lot to offer families or campers who desire a lot of comforts. Overall, its a nice and well run CG, but we are not compelled to repeat with all the other options in the area.

      Finley Flats

      Right on the river.

This Vista owned campground is first come first served. No amenities, no cell service. Pack in pack out. Camp host at the campground. Fishing, boating hiking. Beautiful area. There is a small store top of the hill. Nearest town is 10 miles away. Did I mention it is a free campground!. 14 day limit. Nearest dump station is in Trout Creek. Good gravel road can handle big rigs easily.

      Albert's Landing

Clean, Friendly, Well Maintained RV Campground on the CDA River

Albert's Landing is a clean, well managed RV campground on the shores of the North Fork of the CDA River near Cataldo, Idaho.

The campground offers 60+ sites with water & 30\50 amp service, level gravel pads, picnic tables, and fire rings. There is nearly 1000' of river frontage, a camp store, and a river float shuttle. However, the campground does not currently have a septic dump, trash facilities, or showers, Those services will be available soon though.

The North Fork of the CDA River is a popular destination for river floating, fishing, and off road recreational activities.

Down the road from the campground is the historic Snake Pit restaurant. Highly recommend stopping in for their great food, atmosphere, and colorful history.

If you're planning to visit the North Fork of the CDA River, I highly recommend Albert's Landing.

      Whitefish-Kalispell North KOA

      Family friendly, not really “camping”

If you’re looking for family friendly, this is your spot. Lots of kids activities. Free breakfast. Washrooms, showers and laundry facility available. Scenically, it’s not very pretty. Sites are very close together with little privacy. Our spot was so small we couldn’t fit our tent, picnic table and fire pit in it. We had to park somewhere else, and move the picnic table our. If you prefer exploring nature and quiet, this isn’t the park for you.

2 Mile Turn Off Dispersed Camp

      Easy in Easy out

Just as described by other reviews, it’s right off the highway and right by the creek. About 50 yards away is an outhouse next to a few RV’s. We didn’t check them out, but it was all quiet on a Sunday night. Fire pit is there with lots of brush and easy creek access to put out the fire. We could hear the cars go by at night but it was not bothersome to us. We felt safe and were grateful as the other place we tried didn’t work out. Drove in pulling a small cargo trailer with little issue, but big rigs would struggle. There is another nearby site (50ft away) that can handle a big rig.

      Wallace RV Park

      Nice clean park, convenient location

Clean park with beautiful creekside camping. Friendly employees and a convenient Brew Pub within walking distance. Grassy areas at sites and very pet friendly.

Road next the RV Park is very busy! It does slow down after dark but be prepared for road noise during daylight hours.

    Guide to De Borgia

Nugget RV Resort provides paved, full-hookup sites approximately five miles east of De Borgia along I-90. The resort features both standard and premium RV sites with 50-amp electric service, water, and sewer connections. Several pull-through spots accommodate larger motorhomes up to 45 feet in length. The 50,000 Silver Dollar Campground offers free electric hookups for overnight RV parking behind their restaurant complex, with no reservations required. Cabin City Campground in the Lolo National Forest accepts RVs but provides minimal amenities with no electric hookups or sewer connections. Campground St. Regis operates seasonally from March through mid-October with full-hookup sites suitable for big rigs. "The sites were easy in and out. Most sites do have a view of the mountains. Full hookups."

Advance reservations are recommended during summer months, particularly for premium sites with shade coverage. Mountain driving conditions may challenge larger motorhomes on some access roads leading to national forest campgrounds. Campground St. Regis provides a dump station along with full-hookup sites, while other facilities have variable amenities. Cell service is generally reliable near I-90 corridor parks but becomes spotty in more remote locations. Many RV parks in the region close during winter months, though the 50,000 Silver Dollar location remains accessible year-round for emergency stopovers. Pets are welcome at most locations, with Nugget RV Resort offering designated dog walking areas and hiking trails accessible directly from the property.
