GuideWe are trout fishers. This place is perfect for easy stream and running water fishing. We stayed in loop 3, site 325. We walked over to the "river" about 75 yards from our campsite. The water is shallow and clear. it was perfect. You are off grid in this park with Verizon (our service) or T-Mobile (another guest looking for connection). The lodge has Wi-Fi and I was able to pick up signal to text and call when standing outside. No connection for any data at our camp site. No Over air TV stations. One FM radio station. I you want to have any entertainment, BRING DVDs.

CONS.
1 toilet and 1 shower for 48 campsites in Campground 1. Both door locks did not work. There were lines for the one toilet most of the time!!!

RangerA hatchery on site, trout fishing daily limit 4. Nice stop over on a road trip, honored Access pass for discount, level site, showers, easy drive from a nearby town. Site was level, table fire pit, grill, lantern hook, access to dumpster n n water, on site dump station. There is a pool in lower part of campground as well as restraunt, store, did not use these facilities.
TravelerThis is a really nice spot for tent camping - even though it’s clearly geared towards RV camping. Make sure to book a walk-in campsite if you’re tent camping, otherwise you’ll be in the lot with the RVs (no trees, no privacy etc see first picture). You’ll have to carry your gear to your site, but not too far. Each walk in site is fairly isolated and separate from the other site by trees. Each site has a wood tent pad, picnic table, and fire ring with grate. If you want you could even go to the lodge (walking distance) for a meal and skip the cooking! Book your spot in advance as it seems like they fill up quickly.
RangerNestled in the woods just beyond Bennett Springs State Park is just a slice of camping heaven! Lower campground area is just a picture perfect as the campground winds along a section of the Niangua River. Campground supports any type of camping. Upper level has new full service sites. Great Owners run the well stocked store and see to your needs. Camping cabins for rent. Great shower house. Loved this place we will be back soon. Definitely a 12 out of 10!
RANGER REVIEW: I had the opportunity to review the GCI Slim Fold Cook Station. Wow what a great addition! Totally loved it. Spacious room on top. Found it to be pretty stable. Sever hooks for hanging items for quick access. Made from sturdy material. Set up and take down super easy. We used iron grill with it and found it to be a match. Also used as a buffet for feeding larger number. Very versatile . Definite 10
TravelerClean and well-maintained campground off the Niangua River. Showerhouse is ok- not air conditoned but relatively clean. Sites are nice with a parking pad, picnic table, campfire ring with grill, and lantern post. Great general store on property! Can’t wait to come back again. They’re supposed to be adding more soon.
Visited labor day weekend 2018
GuideTent camped here with a group of private boat paddlers from all over the country. Campground operations had not really started for the season. I arrived after dark and could not find the tent campsites. Nearly drove into deep mud on gravel road past RV sites. Fortunately had just enough cell signal to access their website. Found a campground map three layers deep on reservation page and located my group.
Tent sites were well-located along the river with basic tables and fire rings. I never found the store to be open so paid camping fee at bar and cafe at entrance. Great breakfast. $25/night for tents. Grass had not been mowed and was deep in tent area. RV sites appear to be a work in progress with much erosion around the new pads and access road. What may have been a shower house had key code locks but there was never anyone to ask. Bathrooms near the entrance lacked tp in some stalls. All one afternoon and evening a group of kids with gas weed trimmers noisely worked on a slope adjacent to the RV area.
This campground should improve over time a the management appears to be developing the grounds.

ScoutIf you’re traveling through southern Missouri and looking for a park to stay in, this is a great choice! Right off the interstate and easy to get in to. Site are graveled and level, and most are full hookups. The majority also have picnic table and fire pit. Plenty of potty spots for the babies scattered throughout the park and a 25 acre trail area. John, the owner, is a great guy! Friendly and welcoming, he keeps the park well maintained. Will definitely be using again!
