Gasconade Hills Resort

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

The Gasconade River runs along the edge of this resort-style campground in the Missouri Ozarks, giving paddlers a built-in reason to book. Sites accommodate RVs up to 90 feet with full hookups including electric, water, and sewer, and the campground runs from April through October. A pool tucked into the wooded grounds adds a secondary draw for families, and a dump station is on-site for self-contained rigs. Reviewers note the Gasconade can run high after rain, so floating conditions depend on river levels at the time of your visit.

Site spacing is one of the more common observations in reviews. Spaces run on the smaller side and can feel crowded when the campground fills up. Cell service is unreliable here, and the WiFi is limited, so campers relying on connectivity should plan accordingly. Those options are worth weighing against the gravel bars along the river, one shaded and one open to the sun, which give campers a place to settle in without leaving the property. Campers looking at places to camp around Richland will find several river-access options in the area, including Froggys River Resort and Arlington River Resort along the same corridor.

Management style has drawn mixed reactions. One reviewer described a tense exchange with the owner over a Bluetooth speaker at 8 p.m., well before the posted 10 p.m. quiet hours. Pets are welcome, reservations are available, and nightly rates run $38 to $48. Campers who do their research and arrive with clear expectations tend to get the most out of a stay here.

Visitors often highlighted clean sites and accommodating facilities including cabins and a pool area. However, some guests experienced confrontational management interactions and found spaces more crowded than anticipated.

Bad wifi and even worse owners

Drove 4 hours and spent 300 dollars on a cabin. We placed a small Bluetooth speaker in front of our cabin and relaxed with a drink. After playing music for 20 mins the owner storms over and screams at me to turn it down. Its 8 pm and the music isn't turned up I tell him he said it's his place and his prerogative if it's too loud. I asked him to show me where it said I can't play music. He said quiet time is 10 pm. I said it's 8. He told me not to argue with him as if im his kid or his employee or something.  He told me he was going to eject me if I continued to argue. I would never recommend this place to anyone. Save your money and go somewhere the owners respect you. Lots of places who appreciate your business to give this place any business.

Pleasantly surprised

We booked a last minute trip here and had a cabin along with a RV site. The cabins were great. Campsites were nice too. There was a large pool kind of hidden in the woods. The owners were great and easy to work with. The Gasconade River is right there, but up too high while we were there.

A nice campground

Pretty nice campground although the spaces were a little small and crowded. No cell service and very limited wifi. We didn't float although the campground did offer several options. A couple of nice gravel bars to relax on, one shaded and one in the sun.
