Best RV Parks & Resorts near Bolivar, MO

RV parks near Bolivar provide varied accommodations for motorhomes and travel trailers. Arrowhead Point RV Park in Osceola features 38 full-hookup sites with 30/50-amp electric service and operates year-round. Sidetrack RV Park in Wheatland maintains 31 sites with water, sewer, and electric hookups, while restricting open fires on the premises. Cooks RV Motor Park near Springfield contains 30 sites with full hookups and accommodates big rigs. Sites throughout the region range from closely spaced concrete pads to more spacious gravel lots, with most offering picnic tables and fire rings. "Sites are narrow and very close to each other but this was on a Sunday and the park was fairly empty," noted one visitor about Lambert's Cafe RV Park.

Access roads to several parks may present challenges for larger rigs. According to one camper, "For starters the RV park is about 1/4 down a 1 lane gravel road so if you're pulling a big rig you better hope you don't meet another vehicle." Several campgrounds offer pull-through RV pads that eliminate the need for difficult backing maneuvers. Cell service varies significantly by location, with most parks reporting adequate Verizon and AT&T coverage. Dump stations are available at most locations, though Timbercrest Park lacks this amenity. Nearly all RV parks in the area accept pets, though specific restrictions may apply. Seasonal considerations include limited winter availability at some locations, while others remain operational year-round with reduced services during colder months.

    Fishermans Paradise

    Off the beaten path

For starters the RV park is about 1/4 down a 1 lane gravel road so if you’re pulling a big rig you better hope you don’t meet another vehicle. All the 50 amp full hookup sites seem to be in use by permanent residents. The 30 amp sites are not on level ground. No water or sewer connections for the 30 amp sites. The road also gets a little steep and winding to the 30 amp sites. Nice small lakes make for a nice view once you get into the valley.

    Damsite

    Good fishing and great views

Very peaceful campground. It has a peninsula with some nice, shady sites but also another very wooded area on a bluff. The backside of the peninsula has zero shade (sites 26-40). All sites have good picnic tables and fire rings. Sites near the dump station can be very aromatic. No swim beach but you can access the water straight from the rocky shore. A lot of people tie their boats to shore below their campsite. There is a gas station/trading post right outside the entrance. And a tasty little restaurant with all kinds of sandwiches and ice cream treats. Beautiful sunrises and the sun sets over the dam. I really like this campground. Family friendly and everyone seems to have a dog:) but people do a good job of picking up after them.

    Lambert's Cafe RV Park

    Okay for an Overnighter

After reading a couple of reviews on this new campground (CG), we called about availability and got someone at Lambert’s Cafe who was not much help. We arrived at this new RV park addition to Lambert’s Cafe from I-57 with no issues. Coming in from I-57, we followed the signs for Lamberts and J.T. RV Park on the left side of the road. The entrance to the RV area is the second entrance into Lambert’s main parking lot. You follow the signage back to the CG which sits off to the right and behind Lambert's. This CG is first-come-first-serve. There’s a sign at the kiosk that states sites 6, 7, 8, 9, 27, 28, 29, 30,& 31 are for stays of one week or longer. We selected and parked in site 25 with FHUs, and then went back to the kiosk and paid our$40. The sites are narrow and very close to each other but this was on a Sunday and the park was fairly empty. There were about five transients overnight along with the four long-termers so having someone next to you was not an issue. There is no fire pit, picnic table, cable, or WiFI. One of the long-termers told me there’s a plan to put in a shower house, restrooms, and other amenities. We do not know if this is factual as we did not see any camp-host type of person during our stay. The CG is in an industrial area and we heard backing beeps at about 2:00 AM for a few minutes but other than that it was not bad for this type of area near a main road. We noticed a long-term resident taking their dog out and not picking up after the pet, which seemed to be common based on the'land mines' we noted while walking our dogs around. There is a dump station here that is a $10 fee if not staying in the CG. Lambert's Cafe is within easy walking distance. We had good water pressure at 50 psi and 4 bars on Verizon. This place is pretty much a parking lot with no trees so no problem with satellite. We got a good variety of OTA stations as well. This CG was a little on the pricey side for what you get unless maybe you are a huge Lambert’s Cafe fan. No surprises at this new RV Park as the sites are pretty much level and the roads easy to navigate. However, this place worked for an overnighter.

    Turkey Creek RV Park

    Nice Campground! Nice and Quiet!

Turkey Creek was a very nice campground for our month long stay.  The park is well maintained and clean.  It is very quiet!  There is a train track nearby, but we only heard it a few times during our stay.

Amenities included full hook up, laundry room, bathrooms, showers and a fenced dog park where you 4 legged friends can enjoy some off-leash time.  We had 4 bars with AT&T and waffled between 1-3 bars with Verizon.

The location is great for visiting local attractions such as Branson Landing, Silver Dollar City and Top of the Rock.

Really appreciate the park manager, she was friendly and brought an overpayment to our attention and quickly issued a refund.

    Great experience overall!

    Great Stay

Shaded, great amenities, friendly staff, LOVE the pull throughs. I have a pop up that’s a pain to reverse. Almost all (if not all) these sites, you can pull through the actual site! Not the jsut the campground. 👌🏽

Raccoon Ridge — Harry S Truman State Park

Shaded, Quiet and close to the lake!

Site 36 with 30A & 120V. Public Water Spigot about 50’ away. No Sewer or Water connections at Raccoon Ridge. Plenty of dead kindling and wood around to burn. Asphalt drive with concrete pad. Picnic table, fire/grill ring, hook post w/ recycle bag attached. BEST Site is 38 which puts trailer door parallel with a 180 lake view. Heavy wooded with shared paths to lake or cove. Marina is within 1 mile by water or 15 minutes by car. Ice, Beer and necessities at Puddle Jumpers Bait Store about 10 minute drive. Hosts were great and did cleaning daily. Showers and Dump Station at top of hill few hundred yards away. Let shower water run about 3 minutes before the warm water kicks in. Swim beach is on other side of cove or about a 5 min drive. Dump Station has 4 Waste Holes, two Non-potable water spigots/hoses and one Fresh Potable Water hose and both sides have slight incline on dump tank side. Downtown Warsaw is about 15 minutes away with tourist antique shoppes, bars, ice cream shoppes and the historic Joe Dice Suspension Bridge. The Truman Dam is about same distance away. T-Mobile service with 2-3 bars, no WIFI; but HotSpot worked for ROKU. Keep food and bait inside as raccoons rule at night. Be CAUTIOUS of Red Ticks that are VERY tiny… you’ll want plenty of DEET! Flies were biting like crazy, some mosquitoes and LOTS of May Flies. You’ll see Bald Eagles, raccoons. deer, squirrels, chipmunks, hawks, turtles and FISHING near wooded edge of cove is Bass and Crappie haven!!! Also Geocaching near by!!!

We will return and hopefully get site 38!

Guide to Bolivar

RV parks near Bolivar, Missouri provide full hookup amenities with varied site configurations. Most campgrounds in this region sit at elevations between 900-1,200 feet, creating moderate terrain that affects drainage during rainy periods. Winter temperatures regularly drop below freezing from December through February, with some RV parks reducing water services during these months.

What to do

Fishing opportunities: Osceola RV Park & Campground offers access to Truman Lake, where anglers can catch bass, crappie, and catfish. "We stayed in a pull through spot with full hook ups for a week... relatively quiet with some road noise but a pretty view of the water," notes one camper at Osceola RV Park & Campground.

Brewery visits: Several RV parks near Bolivar provide easy access to local breweries. At Rustic Trails RV Park, "friendly staff who will shuttle you to the local craft brewery up the road. We walked to the brewery and stayed here again on our return route," shares one visitor.

Relaxing pond fishing: For campers seeking on-site fishing without traveling, Arrowhead Point RV Park & Cabins Campground features a catch-and-release pond. "Nice small catch and release pond. Has 2 club houses with large grills and 3 cabins also," according to one reviewer.

What campers like

Clean facilities: Campers frequently mention well-maintained shower and restroom buildings at Cooks RV Motor Park. "Showers/restrooms/laundry are all in one building, and very clean and well kept," notes one reviewer, while another adds, "It's not the biggest park but has excellent facilities that make up for its size."

Responsive campground hosts: Staff attentiveness receives positive reviews across multiple parks. At Cooks RV Motor Park, one camper shared, "The hosts make this place amazing. We've stayed here twice now. The first time they welcomed us after we had a blow out and we were able to stay as long as it took to get repaired."

Affordable rates: Budget-friendly pricing stands out at several locations. One camper at Stage Stop RV Park noted it was "Great for quick stop for $40," while another appreciated "full hookups for $30" with a "self serve station for registering makes it easy."

What you should know

Highway noise levels: Several campgrounds sit close to major highways, creating noise concerns. Rustic Trails RV Park receives mentions of traffic sounds: "The highway noise was loud but earplugs worked," and "I-44 is very close and loud. We stayed 1 night and that was enough."

Limited seasonal services: Winter camping has restrictions at some parks. "If you do the same just know you might see some people skinning deer in the middle of the campground," warns a visitor to Osceola RV Park about October stays.

Site levelness varies: Uneven sites can cause setup challenges. At Rustic Trails RV Park, "Gravel roads and sites that aren't very level," and "The roads are a bit tricky to navigate and the sites are very unleveled."

Tips for camping with families

Pet-friendly spaces: Many campgrounds welcome dogs with designated areas. At Cooks RV Motor Park, "The park is adjacent to a large field where my dog was able to run to her heart's content, which was very welcome after being in other campgrounds where I had to keep her on a leash at all times."

Pool access: Some campgrounds offer swimming facilities. Fishing Tales Resort provides a "Saltwater pool/hot tub is seasonal, but beyond amazing! A short distance from Bennett Spring State Park where the beauty and serenity of the area continues!"

Tips from RVers

Site selection strategies: Choose sites carefully based on your rig size. At Arrowhead Point RV Park, one RVer advised, "We had reserved a spot that would have been too small for our rig. Owner had already caught my mistake on check in and moved us to a better spot. Shady spots, #22 is best."

Self-registration systems: Several parks utilize self-service check-in. Lambert's Cafe RV Park has a "Self serve station for registering makes it easy" according to reviews, allowing late arrivals to set up without waiting for staff.
