Stockton State Park Campground

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Stockton State Park Campground sits along the eastern shore of Stockton Lake in Dadeville, Missouri, organized into two loops that give campers a choice of exposure and atmosphere. The East Loop tends to draw fewer visitors than the West Loop, while sites on both sides run fairly level, though a handful backing up to the woods can slope noticeably. Sites are close together with limited shade, and reviewers consistently note that privacy is minimal. Cell service is available, and AT&T users report a good signal.

Water access is the defining draw here. A short trail from the campground reaches the lake in under five minutes, and a longer route follows the lake's edge at an easy grade. Jeremiah K. describes it as "walking distance to the lake and a lake view with kayak access," which holds true from most sites in either loop. The marina, also within walking distance, has a small restaurant, a shop stocked with basic supplies, and rentals for pontoons, kayaks, and canoes. Rocky shoreline rather than sandy beach characterizes the water access near the campground itself.

The campground has full hookup capability, with electric, water, and sewer available and a maximum RV length of 62 feet. Showers are on-site, and dump and fresh water stations are nearby. Walk-in sites are also available, with gear carts provided at the trailhead for a roughly five-minute carry. The bathrooms are consistently described as clean, though MCB notes they are "clean but dated." Both loops have playgrounds. Firewood is sold on-site, and alcohol is permitted.

Rates run from $15 to $46 per night, with senior discounts available in the off-season. The campground stays open year-round and accepts reservations, which is worth planning around since the West Loop in particular fills up on weekends. Ticks have been flagged as a concern in spring and early summer, so campers should come prepared. Those wanting to explore camping near Stockton State Park will find nearby options including COE Stockton Lake Hawker Point and Needmore RV & Campground. Book in advance for summer weekends, and request a West Loop site with lake views if that matters to your trip.

Many campers appreciated the well-maintained grounds, immaculate restrooms, and helpful staff at this lake-access campground. Sites offer good value but limited privacy due to close spacing.

Nicely maintained campground, great hiking trails, no privacy.

This was a nice campground that was well maintained. The sites are quite close together with little privacy and minimal shade from the trees. We stayed in the East Loop which looked less popular than the West Loop. There was a short walk less than 5 minutes down a trail to the lake that was gorgeous. And a longer hike that went along the edge of the lake that was absolutely lovely and easy enough for the young kids in our group to do. If you don't mind being close to your neighbors it's a nice spot!

We did check out the walk in sites here, but were not able to stay in them. They looked awesome and were a short 5 minute walk from the parking. A great beginner site for walk in camping and there were carts at the start of the trail for your gear. Both loops had decent playgrounds for the kids.

Nice primitive campsite in loop 1

Bathrooms were clean but dated. Water spigots were well spaced. Ticks were very bad. Family sites were spacious but laid out like 2 separate sites. Would have been nice to have both tables together. Tent pads were advertised but non-existent.

Stockton State Park

Real nice park Especially for what we paid. $8.00 for electric only per night. Senior rate off season, $2.00 discount. Two loops East & West. We stayed in the east on a fairly level site, all nicely spaced. Most sites are pretty level, except some that back to the woods. Good ATT signal. Did not try OTATV. Dump & fresh water were near by. Real friendly camp host. A great night over for us.

Into the wild

Great camping spot with easy access to the lake and marina however there isn’t any water or sewer hookup on the camp site. Almost boondocking with electric hookup and a dump station.

A great clean place!

Great state park. Cleanest restrooms I’ve seen. Great trails. Bring the kayaks. They have some pretty cool kayak marked trails on the lake. Beautiful sail boats to see as well!

Excellent Spot

I really enjoyed my first trip here. I had never even heard of this lake. The grounds are nice and clean. The restrooms and showers are decent for a public area. The shop on the marina is not over priced like you would think. The staff are really nice. We do wish there were more instructions in the confirmation email on the check in process and specifically where to go when first arriving at the camp. There are pontoons, kayaks and canoes for rent at the marina. There is also a swim beach nearby.

Great Lake

I wish there were more secluded spots, but altogether a great place. There are miles of mountain biking trails which can be hard to find in Missouri, especially at state parks. Next time, we are hoping to get a spot with more trees and shade. The marina has a great shop In case you ran out of marshmellows or sunscreen and also has a small restaurant attached. Boat slips are also available. You can even rent pontoons or jet skis. There is also a water trail for canoes and kayaks, which are also available for rent.

Excellent park!

We stay here about seven or eight times per year. Easy to reserve sites. We always stay on the west loop. There are no bad sites. Our favorite sites are 15 and 39. Restrooms are immaculate and camp hosts are great! Walking distance to the Marina that includes a restaurant. Walking distance to the lake and a lake view with kayak access.

Highly recommend

We camped in campground 1 right next to the play ground. Super clean, had a view of the lake. Within walking distance of the marina. Everyone was very friendly. My only complaint is the first night we had super noisy neighbors. I'm all for music and a good time but past quiet hours I think one should tone it down a bit. I assumed the host would tell them to be quiet. It did take me complaining the next morning, and then the host went to talk to them. Rest of the trip was smooth as can be! Kayak trails on the lake...beautiful clean swimming beaches. Can't wait to go back :)

Lake time

Definitely a great place to get out on the water! Several beach access spots but very rocky with no sand beaches near the state park campground.
