This is a 23 acre Campground, we currently have 12 Campsites which are all **RUSTIC **sites, The Park is a city park so all the rules of a city park apply. This is a former Boy Scout camp and the Scouts still come here to camp on occasion so please keep that in mind when camping here.
No outside firewood may be brought to the campground, There is firewood for sale for a minumal fee or you may pick up sticks to have a campfire from the woods, Please do **not cut trees down, **as there is plenty on the ground.

This is the second time staying in these campgrounds in two weeks. Both times stayed in the more wilderness area D with lots of trees and sites for tents or back-in trailers. The grounds are huge with bike/hike trails, a lake and a disc golf course. Mountain biking seems to be very popular there are dirt trails off the paved hiking loop. Sites have electricity and water and are well spaced out.

My boyfriend and I only reserved one night and it was wonderful. Our site was in the woods and just what we needed. Walker was very welcoming and super generous! We did a lil walk around the grounds and saw a few people fishing and they had some catches. Walker brought us wood for our fire and it was well worth the fee for the amount he gave us. He truly was great! We definitely enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend.

I have stayed here over 100 times in past thirty years. Front camp sites are better than back. Staff are friendly. The only rude person here is the camp store owner. Fishing is great, boat, kayaks, trails for everyone. If it rains everything is mud if your in the back camp section.
ScoutWe showed up fresh off the road from AZ starting a new life here in the great state of Michigan. Two gentlemen met us right at the entrance they seemed to be doing work around the area. The Manager was on the tractor and greeted us right away. I explained we were looking for a place to camp with our dogs. I told him I found him on this app "the dyrt". He explained it would cost $15.00 dollars a night and we paid for two nights. He sold us a great bundle of wood for 10$!!! You can NOT bring your own wood in.
The Manager informed us of updates that should be coming to the campground as well and I'm very excited for this place to get updates. It's perfect as is but a shower would be amazing to have.

A very quiet campground. The sites are spread out and only 2 vehicles per site are allowed. The East campground is more open and had 3 small cabins that can be rented. The West camping is more wooded and isolated. An extensive horse back riding trail system and MTB trails are easily accessible.

I absolutely love the old tall trees throughout the campground. You are within walking distance to the water . Most campsites have a good view of the water . Great playground for the kids . Star gazing was amazing. We saw many shooting stars sitting on the beach at night Bathrooms are always clean. There is a little lending library. Park staff was very friendly and helpful. They will deliver your wood to your campsite.

I come down to Detroit from Windsor every year to camp in Michigan with friends and this year we went to this very nice campsite in Orion Twp and I loved it. This was the first year we started our trip in Toronto, thanks to a solar company at https://www.solarpowertoronto.com/ who installed solar panels on our RV. We were able to camp from Toronto to Orion Twp and had a great time. Will be doing the same next year.
ScoutWe camped here in our Coleman Lantern over Labor Day Weekend 2023. It was busy but everyone was respectful of one another. The community restrooms, dump station, and dumpsters were well maintained throughout the weekend. The camping store was well stocked for all of the things we forgot to pack but was expensive. The park is extremely sandy so be prepared. Overall it was a quiet, peaceful weekend in a great location. We will definitely be back!

Horrible management here. You need to wear a wristband everywhere and at all times. Dumb gate that needs to be scanned to let you in. They guide you into your site which is extremely annoying and freak out if you go the wrong way on the one ways. Just way over controlling on you and you can’t enjoy camping.

I was fortunate to get full hookup however the bathhouse in C section is the pits. I will not use the showers in this section. Section A showers are a possibility.
LegendI had intended to stay at nearby Lakeport State Park, but they were full and this was a happy alternative. The park is quieter, and the campsites are under tall pines instead of out in an open field. Full immaculate restrooms and showers. Beach area adjacent and park with playground and picnic area. Wonderful to be near Lake Huron! Nearby town of Lexington has stores and cafes. We tent camped; there is a section for small RVs also, with electric or electric and water hookups. I would choose this lovely campground over Lakeport!
TravelerPeople were super friendly and the owners were lovely. They have a little shack and sell firewood. Full hook up options. They have a dump station right at the entrance. The lord are little close together but we didn’t mind too much. The park was nice and the lake was beautiful. The beach a is bit rocky. I would definitely visit again.

If you're looking for a peaceful state park near the beach, this is NOT IT.
This is a noisy, crowded, smokey RV park with no privacy. It would probably be fun if you were 10 years old, running wild with all the other kids and hanging out on the beach. The other campers are in large noisy groups that arrive after 11:30 pm to noisily set up their RVs or party until midnight. Not our thing!
The beach is nice (no dogs on beach) and bathrooms were fine.

TravelerLakeport state park, is it fun? Is there things to do? How’s the beach? We’ll I tell ya. This park is kept super clean! The bathrooms were kept up well and the showers were squeaky clean with warm water running the whole shower. The beach was rocky so don’t forget to pack some water shoes but the rocky beach comes with finding cool rocks to either paint or just collect! (We left with a whole cooler filled) There is trails to ride your bike around and two playgrounds to keep the kids busy. It was my first camp at a state park and I was highly impressed. So if you’re in the port Huron area or only a couple hours away and want a nice relaxing get away in some good ole out doors but have electricity & bathrooms then I would highly recommend lakeport!

This is a good place to camp for a night or two on the weekend. Lots of things to do for families, though the lots aren't terribly private. Be sure to book the right type of lot, and prepare for the parking fees!
ScoutCamped here opening weekend of 2022 (April 29). Nice park with several sites for our bigger rig. Leveling would be more of the challenge. But, we eventually got to 145 which was pretty good and very doable from leveling Stand point. Large well kept grassy site. Nice fire ring. No water or sewer at site but fill and dump available in park. Our Verizon WiFi coverage was good as was our TMobile. Staff was very accommodating and helpful. Seemed there to serve. We experienced no issues with our 30 amp (20 & 30 only available). Didn’t need air conditioning but electric heat was our main heat source and worked fine.

I've stayed all over michigan, and this is one of the best. Your right close to the water, so you can watch the ships. I was very comfortable here, and I had my dog.
ScoutI would go there for a weekend, or even a night to just get away from the Rick raff of work and stuff. I think it's very well maintained! You hear people say they are dissatisfied about this, or dissatisfied about that. It's a CAMPGROUND people! Not a hotel! If you want to be catered to; go stay in a hotel! I think this campground is one of the best I've stayed in! People should learn to be thankful, for the amenities that they're given. It's quiet there, it's more peaceful than HOME. You hear people complain about their time at campgrounds, but only a few people tell how good of an experience they've had! I think it was great there!! I'm going again!!
