Not convenient to anything

It’s secluded. In most cases, that would be great. However, the area lacks a decent trail infrastructure leaving much to be desired in “stuff to do.” Don’t let the Owens Creek name fool you. It’s a brook, at best. No fish here, but there are enough places within a 10-15 min drive that you can fish…

We had to head out a day early after thunderstorms rolled in but we really enjoyed our time. Camphost was super kind and the trek to lake was nice. The lakeside was also inviting but for weather and we'd try again next time.

It's a quick drive to Mt. Washington State Park and a portion of the AT…

We picked up the camping registration outside the office at the entrance, no need to speak with anyone. Then we just drove down to our campsite in the family camping loop. We could hear and smell horses when we got to our campsite, but it didn't last forever.

The site was mostly clean, had a few…

Nice facility and great view from the lake

Nice camp ground easy to register and with nice facilities(toilet&bath). There are 5g signal for T-mobile. Camp sites are pretty close and no much block between sites. Many bugs around my site even in Oct, maybe because site near water. Daddy long legs are queued up to enter my tent. Better…

Family vacation

Nice park. Shower room was very nicely kept, nice paths from each campsite to restrooms. Nice quiet place close enough to everything you would need.

Camp Hosts this year not great

Last year we visited this place many times and it was great. Camp hosts were friendly, helpful and kept the grounds clean. This year 2021 is an entirely different story with new camp hosts who can’t even be bothered to tarp the wood they refuse to stack in the shed. They want you to donate $5 for…

Open Camping Next to River

This campground is not for those looking for silence and solitude. All the sites are very open and run along the multi-use trail. People are constantly walking, running, and biking by. It is nice if you’re a social camper, we got to talk to many people and also got to enjoy a nearby camper playing…

Well Maintained

The campsite was well maintained and spacious enough for two tents if you need them. I got a site in the electric loop (Cedar) and the outlet was right on the other side of our tent (directly across the lot from the picnic table).

This loop does have some elevation, which I didn't know when…

Wonderful little park

Sites are mostly all dog friendly, which is wonderful! Great hiking trails. The park provides wood and ice as well! We will definitely be back!

Primitive camping

The hard thing about this place is you have to park on the road and haul all of your stuff across the field and over the fence so it’s not exactly easy to get all of your equipment at the campsite. Also there is a Amtrak main line, about 3 miles north river, and all through the night it was train…

Trashy and Run Down

We stayed in a Potomac river view site with water and electric hookups for our 17' Jayco hybrid. The river view was nice, but we were packed in with our neighbors like sardines and no shade. The road into the campground was badly in need of repair. Site was not level and infested with black flies.…

Comfortable campground

We stayed here with our van to enjoy being stationary for a few days. It’s a good campground. Site was clean and pretty level. We only used one block to level the van. There’s fire wood available to purchase at the camp host for $5 for what you can fit in a milk crate. They even have a cart you can…

Great stop for an overnight.

Well groomed sites split into three main sections. Several hammock friendly (we were in 121 in the dogwood loop). Flat motorcycle parking, but bring a puck for your kick stand. Firewood and ice for sale at the check-in point. Quiet with modern bathrooms. Drinking water available. Fire pits have…

Stayed an extra night!

We only booked for one night. But we loved this campground so much that we added an extra night. Very close to Gettysburg (25 mins) and hiking at the falls. Sites were level and shaded. Bathrooms were very clean - and had lots of hooks in the shower room.

  • The Falls - short mile hike
