Don't bother

Well, the only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because of the people who work there, otherwise it would have been none. I almost got stuck twice because the spots aren't on solid ground and the spaces are too close together. They are a mix of sand and dirt. Place was a mess after Hurricane Ida, but…

Nice and off the beaten path

My wife and her niece and nephews decided to go away for the weekend. But of course I added a couple of days to the trip for myself. Most of the lots seemed to be level with an exception of a few, which I had the pleasure getting. But that’s the RV life! The best part of the park is there is a…

Beautiful State Park

This is not my first time here but I am really impressed with some of the upgrades. Many sites now have long concrete pads. My 37’ 5th wheel and truck easily fit on the site.

Quiet, clean peaceful

We’ve stayed here a number of times and have always enjoy our stay. It’s a nice quiet and clean park on the banks of the Tchefunte River just above Madisonville. 45 minutes from New Orleans. Check out some of the local restaurants in Madisonville.

Not a place to stay

Site was muddy and standing in water. Sites was to close and could not open awnings. Went to leave and had to climb on top of fifth wheel to move low limbs to leave

Close to the beach

Site is hit and miss. Beautiful pool closed due to covid.

Primitive camping looked great. Loops are dependent on site—shady spots on the exterior are great but the interior spots can be garbage. The spots along beach Blvd have a great view but it’s in a parking lot next to the water park.

Okay for overnighter

Got in late at night, so was nice of a ranger to call me with the gate combination. Hard to navigate the campground at night, and, when I finally found our reserved site, someone else had taken it. Didn’t look like a reserved sign was posted. The next site over was open—and also without a reserved…

Nice, cozy and friendly

We had a nice time, it was very secure here. The operators offer a shuttle several times a day for a small fee per person, to the French Quarter. There’s a nice pool, and hot tub on the premises as well as showers and restroom facilities.

Quiet

Decent spot about 45 minutes from New Orleans. Makes sure you purchase a permit. It's about 11 dollars. And it's for a year. Well worth it to get. There are porter potties. No hookups. Make sure to pack in and pack out.

Fontainebleau State Park

There are two campgrounds here. The north and south the north campground has more trees. There are no sewer hookups there is a dump station. There are no activities planned here so you're on your own. It is close to anything you need within 10 mi. The campground is located on the shores of lake…

Very nice, but lots of bugs

This site was quite nice.  Loved the beach area and the picnic areas, and the live oaks are to die for.  There are also historical relics there and an museum which were very very nice.

Only downfall we could see was the sheer amount of bugs.  We brought a bug zapper, thank god, and that…

We have stayed here almost two weeks while downsizing to a smaller home. This place is very well maintained, and the pool and playground areas are in excellent condition. We did not use the showers/ bathrooms but the laundry area was in clean and machines seemed new. The grounds were well…

Close to the city

Didn’t really enjoy the campground, didn’t feel like a very safe area and it was not that nice. But great location as far as close to NOLA!

Very close to New Orleans, are not so good

If you're just stopping by for a night in New Orleans this is the camp ground to go with! Very affordable, paid $30 for full hookup, compared to other RV sites near the city were about triple the price. You can Uber into the french quarter for about $12 and takes 15 minutes. However it's not a very…
