Abita Springs RV Resort

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Fishing in the on-site lake and walking scenic nature trails give campers a reason to stay close to the grounds at Abita Springs RV Resort, a forested, full-hookup park in Abita Springs, Louisiana. Sites sit on wide stone roads with plenty of shade from surrounding trees, and the resort runs year-round with access to a pool, wading pool, and weekend activities organized through the clubhouse. Cabins positioned along the pond provide more separation from the main RV area for those who want it.

The facilities are consistently well-maintained. Multiple reviewers flag cleanliness as a standout quality, and the stone roads, while wide, do contain loose gravel that can create some difficulty for mobility devices. The clubhouse includes a handicap-accessible restroom stall, though one reviewer noted the threshold and toilet height could be improved for wheelchair users. Staff draw repeated praise for being approachable and responsive to guest questions.

Full hookups, including electric, water, and sewer, are available at every site, with a maximum RV length of 50 feet. WiFi, a dump station, showers, and drinking water round out the amenities. The town itself is close enough to make day trips easy, and reviewers specifically recommend the nearby Abita Springs Cafe for breakfast and the Abita Brewery for a post-hike stop. Campers interested in camping near Abita Springs will find this resort a solid base for exploring the area. This campground is a practical fit for RV travelers who want full hookups, shade, and fishing access in a wooded Louisiana setting.

Great little place!

I’ve stayed here a few times with a friend that has a membership. Once in my camper once in the cabins. Both times were great. Cabins are more private along the pond. The camper spot I had was typical. Staff was very nice, great campground area to walk and enjoy. Community area was very clean and staff very friendly. Visit the nearby abita springs cafe for great breakfasts and of course the brewery for good beer. Cute little town area and farmers market very close.

Nice Campground but not fully accessible

The staff is friendly they work hard to keep everyone informed about activities at the clubhouse. Answering lot of questions from me and other guests. Facilities are nice full hook ups at every site. I could only give them 4 of 5 stars because of challenges using my electric mobility wheelchair. They have handicap ♿ parking in the clubhouse. They could have a better threshold to enter and exit the building. The ladies rest room did have a handicapped ♿ stall with a grab bar and plenty of room for my chair. However it needs a chair height toilet. The roads are full of loose rocks where my chair got stuck 2x on the way to the clubhouse. The grass was too wet and muddy to drive on also.

Great Getaway RV Park

This is one of our favorite parks. Nice RV pads next to the fishing pond. Scenic nature trails and wildlife. This is out in the woods but only a short drive to shopping and dining.
