    One night stop

We stopped for one night. $40, had full hook up, pretty level gravel site. Bathroom shower houses are OK did well for what we wanted. Only thing that might bother some people is there is a train track right beside the campground. This could be charming and rustic, or just annoying noise, depending on your point of view. It was warm, we had the AC on, didn’t bother us. It’s an older campground and it shows, but we were pleased.

    One Week Acceptable

Reserve online, reasonably priced. One week stay in this little park, close to Junction City and Fort Riley. Full hookups in pull- thru half circle asphalt tar or back-in sites. Close to Hwy 70 with some noise. Laundry/shower area available.

    Nice place to rest

Sites are nice; although very exposed to the neighbor and close together. It was really windy. Almost all sites in the b loop on the lake. Bathrooms clean. Not sure if there is a shower somewhere.

    Great campground and lake

Great activities to do in lake and a fun splash pad for the kids. Lots of trails and equestrian trails to hike. Fishing was fun and I believe the lake is regularly stocked. Will stay here again.

This place is a quiet gem!

We love this spot, for tent or cabin camping, Mill Creek is a minute walk away, you can swim, kayak, fish, or just lounge around. They have a little restaurant and it’s reasonable priced and delicious. 5 stars!

    Nice

Many lakefront sites, scenic & quiet. Very windy during our stay. A great place to just come & relax.

Junction City about 15 minutes away for groceries & services.

B loop closed for now, don't know why but those lakefront sites look great.

    Tent Camping

Last 4th of July my family and friends went tent camping here. There is a nice beach area to swim, we rented kayaks and canoes for a leisurely paddle around the lake. Our camp site had plenty of over head cover from the sun.

Overall a very pleasant experience, especially for those looking to get away, but not too far away.

    Closed for the winter

This area looks fabulous. I was looking forward to staying here in early November, but it was closed. All the Corps campgrounds close for the winter. This info wasd not on their website, so I drove out there. Pretty drive. There are dispersed sites available, but with nighttime temps being below freezing I opted to find an electric hookup elsewhere. Will hopefully make it back when they're open sometime!

    Mill creek campground

    Great find.

Easy access from I70. Far enough from freeway to escape noise. This is a unique campground as you can see when driving in. Quirky sort of. The site we stayed in was level for our 22' trailer. Lots of fun things to see at the campground. The town of Paxico is just around the corner and deserves a walk through. The campground is immaculate. As a bonus, breakfast can be served to your campsite. We wished we could have stayed more than one night. Dan and Debbie are the owners and are fab. Didn't use toilet, showers, or laundry. Cell signal on Verizon was 3 bars.

There are train tracks near by. And you hear the train whistle blow through town. Since my husband retired from the UPRR it was music to our ears. You will hear it.

Now a sidelight. We had a flat, completely flat, on the truck and noticed it as we were pulling out. We asked Dan for a recommendation for help to fix. He offered his own services and not only took the tire off but took my husband to town to have it fixed brought it back and put it back on. This is Service. Would not take any compensation, but we will certainly pay it forward. Dan is a good man.

    We will stay her again.

    Paxico kansas

This is one of the nicest parks I have stayed at. Right off the freeway but far enough back you can't hear traffic. 32..00 a day. Dan and Debbie's are great hosts. They make you breakfast and bring it to your RV in the morning. The entire property is maintained A plus. There is antiques all over the entrance of the property. 2 oversized washers and dryers, 2 dollars each. The showers were very clean. There is a river that runs next to the property so you can fish or take the boat or just sit there. It's very peaceful. They have no set check out time. If I wouldn't have had a timeline I would have stayed a week there.

    Amazing

Such a beautiful campground just a short drive (15 min) off the 70. Stopped for one night driving across the country wished we had more time. Clean, convenient, and beautiful views.

    Rocky Ford campground space 141

Very shady, right off the water. A little steep to actually get to the waters edge. Fire rings with grills and picnic table. Lantern hook with water and 30 & 50 amp electric hookups. Back in spot would be a little tight for a bigger travel trailer but not bad.

    Mill Creek Campground

The campground is a typical KOA or Good Sam campground - clean, grass well trimmed, easy access, with some open spaces. The biggest drawback is an active train track about 30 yards from our site. Bout lost my lunch when the train blew its whistle which felt like it was in my ear!
Other than that- the campground is very quiet.

    Perfect for the night

Covered pavilion with a view of the lake. We happened on it thru Dyrt on our way out to Yellowstone and it fit our needs exactly. Close to I-70, but you felt away from everything. Highly recommend.

    Perks, but not awesome

First off, bathrooms and showers are disgusting. Campsites are good size, even though there are a million of them. Great water access for motorized and human powered watercraft alike.

    Beautiful, Spacious, and Well Designed

Stayed here on a night in transit and were really impressed. This is what campgrounds should be! Plenty of space, amazing prices, lots of trees with well kept grass and scenic water views all add up to a spot we just wish we could have stayed at longer!

If you’re arriving late, be forewarned that the campground is huge so a map is essential to find your spot. Highly recommend trying to book a water view spot. We were in site 101 and couldn’t be happier with it!

Pretty place with a water view

We are traveling in the off season, and found only one other RV in the campground. We enjoyed the solitude and night stars. The amenities are simple, electric and water. For a bathroom or shower, it's a walk to the next campground or marina. There are some hiking trails to enjoy in addition to the water activites. A good place to stay as we head west.

    Owl's Nest Campground

    Quick and easy stay

It was super easy to pull off the highway and stay for the evening. We called late, about 11pm and they were great over the phone and just had a slip we filled out the next morning. I wasn’t sure where to bathrooms were and it was late so it was hard to find where they were. There was road noise and what seemed like construction but it was dark enough and right off the highway for a quick stay.

    Nice trees and shade

Quite pleasant. The campground is a bit dated, but more than adequate. The sites are pretty close together. There are quite a few camp sites who look like they live here long-term. For this style of campground, we liked it. Do have some ear plugs handy for the night time if you're a light sleeper. You can hear the highway and several trains come by.
