RangerGreat campground, quite but yet close to Homestead. Bring our own generator. Camp sites have not been maintained like they should have, lots of overgrown brush in the campsites, which makes them harder to squeeze into. The campground needs to reclaim the sites from where there were 10-20 years ago. If the website says it fixs a 40-foot, then it might actually fit a 35 footer
GuideWe are tent campers and feel a bit out of place around all the RVS. sewage and electrical connection available at sites, as well as water. The bathrooms are decent enough and locked with a door code. A bit crowded but close enough to civilization that it makes a great alternative to a hotel, although the price isn’t much difference $50/night). Lots to do in the park itself as well.
ScoutThere is a detention center across the highway, the lights from the canal crossing and water pump building are extremely bright, there is a huge lit up casino about 1/4 mile away. There are two places to park, but one of them is right next to the pump building and down a steep hill. I passed on this one and camped instead at the one 19 min or so up the road.
GuideThe Long Pine campground in the Everglades is nestled in the "Long Tall Pines" Pads on the 108 sites are paved but short! Our site F-92 was labeled 29-33 feet, but our 24'6" was barely out of the road with the rear hanging into the brush. There are not utilities on the sites. Shower houses, while clean, provide solar "hot" water. The showers nearest my site had signs that hot water was not available. Sites are generally large and pads fairly level. The campground is very clean and well kept. Staff are friendly. We had both 2 bars of Verizon 5G.
