Very nice

Incredibly beautiful views, gorgeous sunsets. Very well maintained facilities. Beautiful pool and spa only open during the summer. Staff is friendly and helpful.

Nice Beach Dirty Restrooms

Quiet during weekdays, we were on the crane loop inside, a little too wide open for my taste without a clear definition of the sites. It appears that youngsters run the place , very polite and helpful. What they need is some better guidance from management as to cleaning & upkeep of…

June Camping

Clean average sized lot. Huge bonus was the beach and being about to spend one full afternoon there. We highly enjoyed and early morning walk to the beach as well probably took 20 min from out site to the water. Seemed to be a bit noisy over night, a lot of late night car movement and driving…

Nice campground

Was able to get in. Lots of seasonal campers. Has a swimming hole which encourages lots of bugs. Getting sung to sleep by frogs. Lots of pot holes. Nice pool but full of kids. Nice playgrounds.

Short distance to the beach

Nice cozy campsite in a small loop. Relatively clean bathroom. Water stained due to age, but not dirty. Washing station at the bathroom.

Short bike ride to the beach. Can also drive if preferred. Though some cars do go over the speed limit...

You can hear the train in the background, not loud…

Wide-open state park with cramped campsites

The park is huge with tons of space for picnics, beachgoing and - weirdly - parking. (Someone must've gotten a tasty asphalt contract.)

Unfortunately, all of the campsites are jammed into one quadrant, with very little distance between each. Our site (#17) was quite small and was not clearly…

50/50

I was a little turned off by their main office being in their living room. It was very messy. Bathrooms were small and very hot

Crowded Campground, but Excellent CT Beach!

To be fair, I stumbled upon this site last minute with zero expectations.

The site I was able to snag had quite the puddle in the middle of it and the campground was loaded with several large groups.

Many kids on bikes (which I didn't mind and actually really enjoyed biking from my site down to…

Nice and Quiet

If you like nice big private sites, peace and quiet while providing a great location for fishing and hiking (Henry Buck Trail) then this is your kind of place.   Our family likes to get out into the hiking trails and hit activities in the area vs the all inclusive campground experience and this…

Great campground for kids

This is a quant campground geared towards families being out together. They have a beautiful pool, playground and a large jumping pillow like a huge trampoline you can’t fall off of. There is a beautiful creek that many of the sites border. The new owners have owned it about 7 years and they have…

Not overly inviting

We recently camped here in early June. We were placed in a space in the back end of the campground. The overall appearance of the campground was like campers in a sardine can all cramped together. Then there is the issue of no WiFi signal. I get you are camping but when you adjourn for the night…

Everything we needed

The sites were fairly close together, and there wasn’t a ton of privacy. G1, however, was separated from the rest by its own little drive. We appreciated the privacy, even if it meant being right on the main road. The 10 pm quiet policy was well followed by everyone. Bathrooms weren’t great, and I…

Hemlock hills

Great weekend campground. If you like the ct part of the AT it’s a great place to camp and get lost in the Litchfield hills.
