ScoutDecent camping spot if no rain in the forecast. We got up the dirt/clay road fine in the evening with 2WD but a small amount of rain turned the clay into a sticky, muddy mess. Had to wait it out until sun dried out enough to drive down. Definitely encourage 4WD.
GuideOne of the best lakes on the Grand Mesa, Park Reservoir is truly top tier. The beautiful blue water, lush meadows and dense forest are impeccable. The only drawback is that it’s a pretty hot spot, so If you are hoping for seclusion, this ain’t it. It seems like a pretty popular spot for the fisherman who were out all day in search of a bite and seemed to be quite successful in their endeavors. The water is FREEZING even at the peak of summer, be warned! Overall great spot.

When I was here all the roads were freshly graded, so there was no real issue on the first or second road, but I can totally see why you would want to make sure that you are driving a vehicle that has some clearance when this place gets burly. You can hear the highway in the distance, but who cares, it is not intrusive campsites, all along the road to the GPS feel free to turn off and find your spot
GuideThis site is for tent campers, not RV campers. None of the sites are level, and they are all packed in really tight next to each other. The road getting here was not great, but doable in my sprinter dually. The interstate noise is still there, though pretty quiet. Frustrating there’s no dispersed camping on the BLM land, and you have to pay nearly regular campground fees ($28 as of Oct 2026), especially when a BLM sites still says it’s free

GuideMost sites are very unlevel both front to back and side to side. Suicides could fit our 35 ft Class A. Other people have made site recommendations for larger RVs here are mine first choices 19 20 21 and 38 second tier 18 and 22.
