Nestled in the picturesque North Fork Valley with stunning views of Mount Lamborn, adjacent to Grand Mesa (the largest mesa in the world!) StegoVista RV Park is where nature blends seamlessly with community spirit. Here's the rundown:

    • Dry Campsites (nearest dump station is minutes away)
    • Playground
    • Pet Friendly
    • WiFi

Great for families, the Stego Vista crew gets it: Here you'll find a toddler-safe experience, including a playground with playhouse, little-tot climbers, and a big-kid playset the littles can't get up on. The park closes at dark. You're close enough to town for a quick diaper run, but far enough away that the kids can ride their bikes up and down the road without worrying about traffic. You're in dinosaur territory here: The kids call the mountains the stego back and the state boasts tons of dinosaur site attractions!

**Pet policy: **We welcome non-aggressive dogs: To visit Stego Vista, they must be safe with mouths, bodies, and specifically paws around all humans and animals, including chickens. Dogs must be leashed or pass a voice recall test upon arrival. Please be mindful — if your dog is left unattended and barks excessively, we can't have them at Stego Vista. Please pick up after your pets.

**Long-term stay policy: **We love our elders here, so if you're a retiree seeking a long-stay haven, come stay as long as you like. Same goes for families and hunters in search of adventure —StegoVista offers a comfortable place to land and a great place from which to set off on a hunt. Ask about on-site archery coaching with our Olympic-certified, Solid Archery Mechanic coach.

Party policy: Groups of RV and van campers are welcome here! This is a fantastic gathering spot for family and friends, complete with fire pits, gorgeous nearby hikes, and cute towns to explore. Quiet hours begin at 9 p.m. on school nights, 10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, at which time we simply ask that you take music and loud friends indoors — star gazers are welcome to enjoy the outdoors at any hour. Please turn off generators for quiet hours.

    Beautiful views and flat campsites.

    October 15, 2020

I am not a fan of campsites .... would prefer wild camping and boondocking.  We decided to stay at Saddlehorn for a night and we were very impressed.  The sites are close to each other, however, there is enough natural landscape and trees to allow for privacy.  Each site had a place for 1 car to park, a picnic table and a grill for charcoal.  No fire rings.  The views are spectacular and we did a few hikes that were breathtaking.

The bathrooms are very clean and although we didn't need ADA accommodations, I was very happy to see a couple of sites dedicated to those who may need it.

Loved this place enough to want to come back!  If you don't need RV hook up, its first come first serve.  We arrived on a Thursday, early afternoon and there were only a few sites to choose from, so plan accordingly!

    Enjoy!

    Great State Park

We stayed in a full RV hookup site for 2 nights (power, water & sewer). Typical State Park with little privacy but there is a great trail along the river that we rode bikes and ran along. The main building has coin showers in the bathrooms and as well a little coin op laundry. The bathrooms closer to the sites are vault toilets but seen to be kept fairly clean.

Convenient campground that accommodated our large rig

Pretty campground with grass at the sites, a river a short walk away (there's a good portion of the campground with riverside sites, but limited for larger rigs). We were up by the highway, so the traffic was loud and the neighbors were fairly close. Not too terrible, and nothing a fan couldn't drown out at night. Could not park our tow vehicle at our site, but got a spot nearby across the road. We had some long term neighbors that let their dogs poop around our hookups, so the day we left was a nightmare. But that's not the campground's fault. They just need to enforce dog cleanup a little more maybe.

    Great new RV Park

Loved our stay here. Brand new by only a few months when we stayed. The staff was great going above and beyond in every category, the place was spotless. They have spots in the back and side separated for long term. Good water pressure and WIFI. Showers and bathrooms were great. Spa is broken and needing repair but overall we loved this place. We will definitely return.

    Hidden Gem of a park

This is a terrific spot.  Owner and staff are friendly and helpful.  The spots are level concrete pad with full hook up.  Most spots have shade and space between on the outer ring is about 10 feet each side..  It is quiet even though away from the highway but just minutes through town to Highway 50.  Several trail options to walk the dog along the river from the park.  No picnic tables or fire rings but that doesn't bother me.   Added to my must stay places.

Superb RV park in an ideal location

This RV park had a great shower/ bathroom and laundry facility. Our spot overlooked the Colorado River and had great scenic views. We had no issues with the hookups even though the temperatures were below freezing. It's mandatory to have a heated hose during the colder months. The Wi-Fi had a strong signal and we had very few issues with lagging.

    Nice riverside campground

This RV park has a good number of riverside spots, which are delightful. Lots of trees, and dense but not too dense packing. Biking distance to downtown salida. It is along the road, and on a slope-- it might be the case that the spots at the top, near the road, are noisy. Not an issue for the riverside spots.

Great place to cool off in the river

Everything in this area is expensive. We were skeptical of tents at an RV park but they have a dedicated tent area that is right next to the river. The tent pad was big enough for one big and one small tent. The bathrooms are very clean and nice! We waded to the middle of the river and watched the sun set against a hill. Beautiful!

    Beautiful setting

We have stayed at this State Park years ago and love it. You do get lots of road noise as it’s right off I-70, but all the pluses make up for that! Level spaces with fire pits, post BBQ grill, picnic tables. The spaces that don’t have tall enough trees have covers over their picnic tables. There’s grass between spaces and they are nice large spaces. There’s a small lake for fishing and appears to be open for swimming in the summer. You have a choice of full hookups or electric only. There’s an RV dump on site. There’s restrooms scattered throughout. And I didn’t notice it advertised but there are a couple of washers and dryers. There are a couple of nice handicap spaces as well. It is more expensive than most state parks we have stayed at. $37 plus a $9/day vehicle fee for full hookup site.

We did not know the water hookups are closed for the season when we arrived. We are paying for full hookups, but do not have them. If we had known this prior to arrival we would not have stayed here.

However, it is a beautiful and well maintained campground. We would stay again.

    Monument RV Park, CO

Monument RV park is located in Fruita, CO which is only 12 miles or 20 minutes from Grand Junction. Fruita has a lot to offer for a small town. There are biking and hiking trails as well as the national monument itself.

At the campground, we were pleased with our stay. The bathrooms, showers and laundry were up to par. Although, one of the buildings was closed for the winter. The dog park had waste that guests didn’t pick up, but it was nice they had a space dedicated to our pets. There is a pool for the warmer months and it’s in close proximity to a Dairy Queen, liquor store and other restaurants. They also have a RV storage space!

    Beautiful RV Resort

We typically don’t stay at RV parks, but due to some extenuating circumstances have found ourselves stuck in Grand Junction for a few days. We found this park and chose it based on reviews. It is amazing! It is so well kept up, has extremely large sites with concrete patios, picnic tables, fire pit, and lawn for each side. Carrisa in the office was so nice and very professional. The bathrooms are modern and clean. The grounds are nicely landscaped with bushes and trees. There is a pool, dog runs, laundry, play area, and pickleball courts. There is some traffic noise but not too bad - it is a city location after all. The privacy fences behind the back in sites really make it nice. We would absolutely stay here again.

    Junction West Grand Junction

    TRAVELER BEWARE

TRAVELER BEWARE!!! This park uses bait-and-switch practices. First, the pictures posted on Junction West Grand Junction’s website are not representative of the park. This park is filled with permanent residents, skirted trailers, and lots of“stuff” clogging up sites and roads. Second, confirmations and guaranteed reservations mean nothing to Junction West. We had a 3-night, paid-in-full confirmed and guaranteed stay in a standard pull-through site for our 35’ rig. Upon arrival we were directed to a small back-in site that did not allow parking for our truck and it would have been impossible to back the rig in due to all of the vehicles parked on the streets. Junction West was unable to honor our reservation without moving us at least once to different sites in our 3-night stay. This was unacceptable and forced us to go elsewhere. Junction West refused to fully refund us for their mistake. They did, however, refund 2 of the 3 nights and sent an altered confirmation back to us– BAIT-AND-SWITCH. The only bright spot in this interaction was the park we found as an alternative, Canyon West, was amazing. Canyon West RV Park is 10 times better FOR THE SAME PRICE as Junction WEST.

    Palisade Basecamp RV Resort

    Relaxing two nights

Stayed two nights in late October 2021. Park was probably 10% full. Everything you would expect as far as amenities: full hookups, everything well maintained, sites are level. Weather was perfect. There is some highway noise, and we’ve had 3 trains come through over the last 24 hours. I have not had problems sleeping.
