Fantastic Escape

We had been wanting to check out skyline wilderness Park for quite some time. Thanks to recently purchasing a much more updated tent trailer (our previous one was 27 years old and VERY limited), we decided it was high time to take our “fancy” trailer to the fancy town of Napa.

We weren’t sure what to expect at first. It seemed rather gravelly and parking lot-ish. But, looks can be deceiving. Once we pulled into our spot, we were awed by the beautiful scenery, the gnarled oak trees and the serenity.

The toilet facilities were immaculate (and smelled really good!), the trails made for some excellent walks, the children loved the native garden, the dogs enjoyed frolicking in the dog run, and we loved hearing the wild turkeys gobble at night!

We were only there for two nights so we didn’t really get to check out all that SWP offers but we will definitely keep it on our short list when we’re looking for a getaway to recharge.

Great fishing

Spent the night at my usual fishing spot and had a great time. Staff is friendly and food is good.

Amazing dry campground.

Lot of space with amazing view to the ocean and trail to the beach. Free restroom and showers work with quarters. Firewood pit and lot of grass. Free Sewage and fresh water on the entrance.

On the Bay

Nice park. Very quiet in late Nov. Bathrooms were closed. Couldn’t Find any trails. Good for one night.

A slice of heaven in the bay area

We visited the first week of December 2020.  The staff was helpful and the grounds were well maintained.  Flat easy pull through with full hook-ups.  Definitely in a canyon around the corner from Thousand Trails.  You can see the stars at night and it is a very quiet campground.  We were surprised at all the high-end rigs there, some full-timers.  A nice dog park area and a stroll along the creek - our dog loved it.  They recycle and are very environmentally aware. No pool or playground but lovely nature away from the hustle and bustle of silicon valley.  It is about 6 miles to shopping and many restaurants.  A very easy drive off the highway if you take the Tennant Road exit.

Good for biking and long dog walks.

I love how the campsites are all nestled in the huge cypress trees. Water spigots just a few sites away and plenty of bathrooms too. Lots of families around, made it the perfect Summer outing.

Walked to Due West for an excellent dinner. That is what I call Glamping!

We nestled our Sprinter between to large pine trees and took the dog for a walk. Then headed down the road for our first dinner indoors since February! It was excellent and the cocktails and desserts were excellent too. The next morning we hit the little store at Due West before our hike for coffee and pastries. The perfect little get away, close to home.

AWESOME SPOT WITH GREAT GRASS & SHADE AND WATER ACCESS

Good for camping on the delta with green grass and close to the boat spots

Clean, quiet and quick escape in Bay Area

We camped here for one night to test our pandemic project…a van conversion. We had never been here before but will definitely come back. We came in November, just in time for a temperature drop and some nice gusts. I’m not going to hold the chill against this area because I didn’t dress accordingly.

We had a great site and there was no one on either side of us. The bathrooms were a short walk down hill. They were clean with flushing toilets. There camp ground was quiet and it was mostly couples or small family groups. The hiking is quite beautiful and the woodpeckers were busy storing acorns.

Would come back

Lucky to reserve one night here for Thanksgiving. Some non reserved available when we arrived. PO, laundromat, toilets and showers. Volleyball nets and shuffleboard courts. Didn't have much time to explore. Lots of guests with dogs and kids, all pretty quiet and well behaved. Would come back. Grassy, plenty of trees and surrounding nature. Right on highway 1, but limited traffic so not noisy.
