Reservations are available at Joseph D. Grant County Park, a drive-in county campground in the hills above San Jose that accommodates RVs up to 16 feet with sewer hookups. Sites include picnic tables, and firewood is sold on-site along with ice. Campers have reported arriving to find few or no neighboring sites occupied, and bathrooms with flushing toilets and showers have come back clean in multiple visits. Wildlife sightings, including woodpeckers and bobcat, have been noted along the surrounding trails. The park is open year-round, and the camp host is on-site. Pets are welcome. Those planning a route through the area can find places to camp near Mount Hamilton or check out the nearby Joseph D Grant County Park - Horse Camp for equestrian-focused options.
