**Before your trip, check:** - Latest FIRE DANGER restrictions - Blue-Green Algae updates - Current seasonal and site closures - **Campgrounds** : Tent or RV campsite reservations for Anthony Chabot, Del Valle, and Dumbarton Quarry can be made online between 48 hours and 12 weeks in advance of your arrival date. - **Group Camping:** Reservations must be made at least 3 days in advance by calling the EBRPD Reservations Department. - **Backpacking:** Reservations must be made at least 48 hours in advance by calling the EBRPD Reservations Department. - **2025 group camping and backpacking reservation:** - Group and backpacking reservations through 2025 are now open. - For reservations with arrival dates from January through June 2026, sites will be released on December 10, 2025. - Reservations are by phone only. Maximum 2 reservations per call.
To reach the East Bay Regional Park District Reservations Department, please call 888-327-2757, option 2 (from Canada, please call 510-544-2707). We are open 9am - 4pm Pacific, Monday-Fridays (closed weekends and holidays). Customers may email Reservations@ebparks.org, however, **we do not accept cancellations nor change requests via email.** Customers must call the above number to cancel or change their reservations.
Sunol camping area is located near rolling hills and open grasslands in California. Temperatures range from 40°F in winter to 90°F in summer. Nearby, visitors can explore Sunol Regional Wilderness and Little Yosemite, offering hiking and scenic views.
Description
Sunol Regional Wilderness has limited backpack sites, available by reservation only. Those using the Ohlone Wilderness Trail for day hikes or camping will also need the trail permit. Please visit the Sunol Park Page or call the EBRPD Reservations Department at 1-888-EBPARKS (1-888-327-2757) option 2 for more information.
It is the camper's responsibility to know and follow all campground and park rules, including those in Ordinance 38 District Rules and Regulations: https://www.ebparks.org/public-safety/ordinance-38. Additional information can also be found here: https://www.ebparks.org/recreation/camping .
For cabin, backpack, and group campsites, please refer to site information for more details. An information letter will be emailed to you approximately one week before your reservation begins. It will contain your gate/entry code and/or parking passes. Site types vary by location.
Campsites are intended for overnight use only. Please plan to meet visitors in day-use portions of the park.
FIRES/BBQ: Stricter restrictions may be in place during your stay. Check here for updates: https://www.ebparks.org/alerts-closures. (NO campfires allowed at any of the backpack sites, the Corral Group Camp, or at Black Diamond). Only allowed in designated areas and must be attended by an adult. Only wood that has been commercially purchased, processed fire logs, or cut lumber should be used. Collecting wood is prohibited. Fires must be completely extinguished before departing.
NO GENERATORS.
NO PUBLIC ADVERTISING: All publicly advertised events, including on social media, must have a valid special event permit on file at least 60 days before the event date.
NO SMOKING: All East Bay Regional Parks are smoke-free which includes vaping.
BE GREEN AND CLEAN UP YOUR SITE BEFORE DEPARTING.

**Sunol Park address:** 1895 Geary Road Sunol, CA 94586 **Directions:** From Fremont - Head north on I-680 and exit at Calaveras Road. Turn right on Calaveras and proceed to Geary Road, which leads directly into the park. From Oakland/Berkeley - Head east on I-580 to the I-680 junction in Pleasanton. Head south on I-680 and exit at Calaveras Road/Highway 84 just south of the town of Pleasanton. Turn left onto Calaveras Road and proceed to Geary Road, which leads directly into the park. From Walnut Creek/Danville - Head south on I-680 and exit at Calaveras Road/Highway 84, just south of the town of Pleasanton. Turn left onto Calaveras Road and proceed to Geary Road, which leads directly into the park.
