Anaheim RV Park - PERMANENTLY CLOSED

Disney Camping - Clean, Pool, Very Nice Restrooms/Showers

Anaheim RV Resort is close to Disney and is on the Anaheim Resort Transportation (ART) bus route. They have full hook up sites and room for large rigs - back-in and pull through. They are very pet friendly and even have a dog walking/feeding service (for an extra fee). There is a small pool and hot tub. The restrooms/showers and newly remodeled and very nice! Sites are all level and fairly large. We've stayed here 4 times and will be back again!

    Bolsa Chica State Beach Campground

    Bolsa Chica State Beach

The 4 stars is primarily for location. This is essentially a parking lot with power and water. We had a beach front space (B035) with a decent sized palm tree. The only one I really saw. The spaces aren’t huge so if you have a big rig or large trailer it will be tight. Most trailers parked their tow vehicle perpendicular to the space and some barely fit. There is no privacy, the small concrete area is shared with your neighbors as is the entrance to the beach side. People watching at the boardwalk is amazing. There is live music at the beach bars nearby which was cool. Definitely bring bike. There isn’t a lot within walking distance but downtown Huntington Beach and the pier is just a couple miles away.

    Waterfront RV Park

    Great place by the beach

Your not on the beach but literally on the other side of pacific coast highway you are there. They have smaller options for travel trailers with power hook ups only and pull through and back in sites available with full hook ups. They have a great pool, maintained laundry rooms bathrooms and showers separated by men and woman for that privacy you need. Overall an incredible rv park and very impressed by it being well kept and clean. Not to mention close to the beach

Mountain Lakes Resort - Membership Campground

    Great family friendly place

My wife and I have been coming up here for years. We used to use her parents fifth wheel or use a cabin but recently purchased our own travel trailer. Now we come up here with our kids and I can’t say enough about how family friendly it is.

    Ronald W. Caspers Wilderness Park

One of the Best County Parks you will find

This is a great park in Southern Orange County. I have tent camped here for years with my kids in the Live Oak campground and never had a bad experience. There are hiking trails everywhere with lots of wildlife to watch. I switched to a travel trailer several years ago and now use Ortega Flats campground. The sites are big and well spaced, with 30 amp electric. The water is off for the time being. The dump station is very close by and easy to access.

    Bonita Ranch Campground

    Just ok overall

Needed somewhere fairly close to home to take my new to us motorhome. Sites were decent size but fairly close together so don’t expect a lot of privacy. Sites interspersed among long term residents. Hookups water and electric at each site. Some shade, trails to riverbed currently mostly dry and Bonita falls about 25 minute walk over river rock. Fire rings available to rent for $5. The biggest issue I had was our electric went out to our loop at about 7:30pm…luckily we are self contained…it still had not been restored when we left the next day at noonish. The lights to the office area and restrooms was still on (thankfully) but not the camp sites.

Guide to Bell Gardens

Urban RV parks near Bell Gardens, California offer practical amenities for travelers seeking modern conveniences within the Los Angeles metropolitan area. Located in a heavily developed region with an elevation of around 150 feet, these facilities provide manufactured environments rather than natural settings. Temperatures typically range from 45-90°F year-round with minimal rainfall, creating reliable conditions for RV travelers who need proximity to urban attractions.

What to do

Water activities at Huntington Beach: Across from Waterfront RV Park, visitors can enjoy ocean recreation with easy beach access. "You're not on the beach but literally on the other side of pacific coast highway you are there. They have a great pool, maintained laundry rooms bathrooms and showers separated by men and woman for that privacy you need," notes one visitor who gave the park a 5-star rating.

Urban exploration near Burbank: Hollywood RV Park serves as a convenient base for city excursions. "This seems to be one of the best places to stay with an RV to visit LA, since driving and parking and RV in LA can be challenging and parking an RV in west LA is not allowed. We took an uber. if you stay on the West side of the city it's okay (still 50/60 USD) for a single ride," explains a recent visitor.

Riverside historic district tours: From Rancho Jurupa RV Park, guests can explore nearby attractions. "We drove over to the Mission Inn (8 min drive) enjoyed lunch. Their is a pedestrian only shopping area with a Saturday farmer's market plus lots of restaurants," mentions one camper describing activities beyond the campground.

What campers like

Security measures: Campers appreciate on-site security at various RV parks. At Rancho Jurupa, one visitor noted, "Great sense of community and great placement of the gates for safety purposes. Lots of food spots within 10 minutes. Spaces are one of the cleanest I seen. Ranger is on constant patrol."

Clean facilities: Consistent maintenance standards at Golden Shore RV Resort receive positive reviews. "The grounds are kept in excellent condition - very clean and secure. The pool, showers, bathrooms are all spotless. Highly recommended this RV resort," states a reviewer who stayed several days.

Citrus trees: At Orangeland RV Park, visitors enjoy unusual amenities. "We've stayed here about 3 times. Last few times has been lovely. The location they placed us in was where we were last year and it's perfect!!!! It's a very clean park, office is friendly as well as the outside workers," with another mentioning you can "pick all the oranges you want!"

What you should know

Compact spaces: Most RV parks in the Bell Gardens area feature tightly arranged sites. At Anaheim Harbor RV Park, a visitor advised, "If you have a larger RV or slide-outs it is recommended you book Deluxe space or Deluxe space+ parking. Standard sites may be too narrow to extend awning."

Train noise: Some facilities experience noise disturbances. At Thousand Trails Soledad Canyon, a camper warned, "Stay in the back side of the park as a rail line runs in front of the front side of the park. Phone service and wifi are adequate in most parts of the camp."

Military ID requirements: Certain RV parks maintain restricted access. For Seabreeze at Seal Beach, reviewers note, "A well kept secret with one drawback; everyone has to have an ID card to get on the base or be pre approved by base security," and another simply stated, "Must have military clearance to rv here."

Tips for camping with families

Water parks and activities: For family entertainment, Bonelli Bluffs offers diverse recreation. "There is camping, horseback riding, fishing, trails, biking, hiking, picnics, you can use your jet skies in designated areas, swimming on the pool areas, kayaking, Park for kids and plenty more," shares one visitor describing family options.

Group camping considerations: When planning for larger groups, some locations offer specific areas. At Rancho Jurupa Park, a visitor warned, "Took Girl Scouts here for group camping. Rocky and sand. The family camping was fine! Girls used Porta Potties. I'm hoping they have finished construction on something better since then. However, there are some great kid friendly activities."

Free Disney transportation: Families visiting area attractions can find convenient transportation options. "Easy 15 min drive to Disney plus the ART bus picks up straight from the campground. A covered play area, helpful staff, heated pool as well as a hot tub," noted a visitor at Orangeland RV Park.

Tips from RVers

Security for belongings: RVers should take precautions with valuable items at certain locations. One camper at Waterfront RV Park cautioned, "Be careful and aware when staying here. My husband and I had our mountain bikes stolen when sleeping. When we asked for camera footage the owners of the campground claimed the cameras were broken and they couldn't share the footage."

Parking assistance: Some parks offer specialized assistance for tight spaces. A Hollywood RV Park visitor explained, "Steve the owner is amazing and the team will take your rig on a forklift to your site and fully set you up. It feels like a neighborhood instead of a busy RV park."

Site selection strategy: At Newport Dunes RV Resort, knowing which sites to request improves the experience. "We stayed in spot 2118 and it had a nice view of the bay. Be fully aware that these spaces can be very tight, overall we will stay again," advised one experienced RVer.
