Great park

Beautiful park. We thoroughly enjoyed our drive-in tent site, the scenery, and the abundant bird life.

Fun place!

Great place to rv camp. Pretty cheap considering your camping right by the water. Can get windy at times and weekends/ holidays get super crowded. The dunes are fun if you have a motor vehicle/ATV. Downfall there’s no dump station but you can call a company to empty your tanks( for a cost)

This is one of the few beaches you can drive on in CA. Come prepared with 4WD. Ride ATVs on the dunes and camp on the beach. Lots of trash and always windy.

Camping, Fishing, Boating, and Riding Horses at Santa Margarita Lake

Santa Margarita Lake is a lovely, quiet medium size lake used for drinking water in San Luis Obispo County, Los Padres National Forest. There are 60 campsites; 54 tent/RV, 2 Boat-in and 4 horse camps. There is a playground and a pool available in summer as swimming in the lake is not allowed.…

Tent and Group Horse Camping

Montana de Oro is a beautiful treasure located along a wild coastline, sand dunes, tall peaks and high cliffs above beautiful beaches. Tent camping is limited but the availability of group horse camping is a rare treat. With pipe corrals, pit toilets and trails to the ocean, these site are…

What a spectacular place!

This was our very first trip in our new TT.  It was a little chilly at night, but the crashing of the surf made it magical.  Fiercely big raccoons :)

The camp host was great, and the sites are not huge, but decently spaced.

This place is amazing! Love the “hidden” beaches, the hiking trails and the beautiful beach!

Nice quiet campground on a great fishing lake

This lake has a no body contact rule which makes it a great quiet fishing lake with no jet skiing, swimming etc... there is a seasonal swimming pool that is right across from the rv spots. It is a dry campground and the 7 rv spots are basically on a parking lot but are on the waters edge which is…

Pretty Lake and decent campground

I came here in July of 2018. It was extremely hot and I made good use of their pool. Campground is decent but spots are close together. It’s a really pretty lake though. There is a camp store, showers, and pretty much anything you need on site.

Options for Everyone

Nice place to stay with fishing, biking, hiking and a pool for families. Water toys, kayaks etc. are available to rent. Probably best to visit in spring and fall like most So CA campgrounds due to heat but the pool helps cool off. No hookups but does have a dump station.

Basic campground on central California coast.

This campground is near the beach on the central California coast . It has tent and RV sites. The only amenities are non-flushing toilets and water . There are no lights at night, so it is very dark. A flashlight is a must. Our site did not have a flat spot for a tent so we had to pitch it on a…

Hidden Gem on Central Coast

While not a glamourous campsite, mostly a level area, its near the awesome hidden gem of Montana de Oro and lessor known beach. Makes for an easy walk to the seaside bluffs and cliffs for stunning views of the ocean without the huge number of crowds found at other beach camp sites.

Small campground on the central coast

This campground was in a great location, but that's the end of the good. There was very little shade, and the toilets were just holes in the ground. It did not seem well maintained, and I will not be going there again.

RV Camping on Historic Harford Wharf

This is an RV only campground in Avila Beach. Parking slots are spread along the road to Harford Warf (interesting history!) as well as some overflow spots (for now) up the hill. There is a shower/laundry house down the hill at the entrance to the Port. The best spot is on the point, but the spot…
