Right next to the rock

I’m a local and decided to stay here a few weeks. Perfect location right by the rock, this is we’re I come as a local to spend my days so it’s nice to just sleep here too. Park has wifi, cable, small dog run, laundry & dump station, small store showers. Repairs also available on site. Close to plenty of rural adventures or small town fun.

Very friendly perfect location

California, Morro Dunes RV Park

Located right on the beach and ocean near Morro Rock. Within walking distance from Downtown Morro Bay.

Directions: From highway 1 exit at E. G. Lewis Highway(41) and go west toward the beach. The campground will be on the left in less than one mile.

Please see the Campbase map tab for the exact location.

Comment Morro Dunes RV Park is open all year with 170 RV and tent sites available. What a fun place to stay in Morro Bay. It's the best campground in Morro Bay if you want to be right on the beach and close to all the activity of the beach, marina, bay, and downtown area. You can park the car and walk or bike everywhere. The campground is the closest camp spot to Morro Rock. There is a lot of "fun factor" at this campground.

Make reservations early for this campground. It's usually booked solid all summer. If you are unable to obtain a camp site, at the bottom of this page are other near bye campgrounds.

The campground has paved camp roads with level crushed rock parking pads. Picnic tables and fire rings are also available. Shade spots are limited.

There is HorsebackIng in the dunes in front of the campground. There is also a dirt area for parking and unloading horses.

Cell phone service in the area is excellent.

Location location

Great rv park. Separate gates out to Morro rock and beach. Staff are friendly and helpful. Bath and showers, while older are super clean. Sites could use some privacy fencing or shrubbery

Great location at the beach

If you know in advance that the site is actually a kind of parking lot with small sites and hardly any green, this will be more than compensated by the beautiful sunsets on the beach and watching the surfers or sea otters.

Camp at the beach

We can here in September and camped in a small tent. The day we arrived it was fairly windy, so the tent was not that pleasant, but the view and the animal live that was ever present was a delight.

Great location

On our way back to southern Cali from the Bay Area, we needed a place to stay in our van to break up the drive! I called when we were a few hours away and the very kind receptionist, Tracy, booked us a site and gave us all the necessary instructions for after office hour check in! The location is amazing! Just walk across the dunes to hang out at Morris beach! Excellent place to stay on our way through! Bathrooms were clean and well-maintained!

Not bad, but far from great

Had a same day registration and got the last spot...directly next to the bathrooms. Literally on the sidewalk of the men's room. I kept smelling a weird mildew smell all night. After leaving in the morning, I realized the park is directly adjacent to the City wastewater treatment plant. Hence the smell. People were respectful, and it was right next to the dunes and rock. So, over all, nice to have a safe place to stay, but was a bit smellly.

Great location!

Best part about the RV park is its location, right next to the dunes! The RV park is clean and well maintained. Sites are spaced close together but no major issues with noisy neighbors. Nice little dog run. Family friendly. We went during COVID time so many of the community areas (playground, showers) were closed, but didn't detract from an enjoyable getaway.
