I think there is a HUGE difference between the RV section and the tent section of this campground. We are tent campers and were in the back area. It was a reasonable walk from our campsite to the beach. The beach was nice. Showers take tokens but machines that take dollar bills are outside…

Super spectacular views! I went all the way to the end as it allows some walking around room. If you’re tent camping beware the wind, gets pretty crazy. Had one wind free day out of three. Looking down on the bay, San Luis Obispo and HW 1. Can’t stress how flippin beautiful it was. Just. Wow.

Large camp sites, beach access is directly from the site, cheap rates, clean bathrooms. Great experience all around!!
We had such a wonderful time staying 3 nights at Cerro Alto campground. Most sites are spaced for privacy. Very quite & peaceful. Easy access to hiking trails (Cerro Alto summit) from campsite. About a 20 min drive to Morro Bay/ Morro Rock. Pit toilets. No showers.
Only issue we encountered…
The location was pretty sweet right by the beach. I tent camped while my family members RVd. My site was large with a fire pit but they were slightly crammed in and had no fire pit. Did notice that some had the pits so be careful if choosing which site. Overall a nice visit.
The campground is about what you would expect from a fairground. Nothing fancy but conveniently located to stores and wineries. The price is a little steep for what you get ... But it is California.
Came in at dark and reserved on the fly. Easy, clean, and close to beach.
We are staying no hook up sites not used to live with the generator on but really good experience
Beach is right across the street. RV sites very in size, well kept grounds. Office staff is very nice and helpful. Fire pits at each site with picnic tables.
Camp is very close to the beach, 3 minute walk to steafood restaurant & kayak rentals which was really fun.
It was so beautiful here! The campground is across the road from the gorgeous estuary, which you can explore via a boardwalk. There's a fun restaurant and a natural history museum there too. The campground itself isn't super fancy, but you might get to see monarch butterflies migrating! Campsites…
This place is amazing. Nice private sites. Our site was on the side of a large hill overlooking everything. We were king of the mountain. Campground is remote but SO worth it. A bit pricy but each site has concrete patio along with patio furniture and a nice charcoal grill. Sitting out at night…
People walking & talking. Up and over the Dunes to the ocean. Parents spending time with their children. Family volley ball from 4-7 ish down the way with lots of laughter. Geese heading out in formation over the central camp-plane. Butterflies butterflies butterflies 😯
Cool place right across the street from the beach. Showers are no extra charge and they have coin op laundry on site.
Nice place, walking distance to the beach & downtown Morro Bay.
Get a site that has a view of The Rock.
