Anaheim RV Park - PERMANENTLY CLOSED

Disney Camping - Clean, Pool, Very Nice Restrooms/Showers

Anaheim RV Resort is close to Disney and is on the Anaheim Resort Transportation (ART) bus route. They have full hook up sites and room for large rigs - back-in and pull through. They are very pet friendly and even have a dog walking/feeding service (for an extra fee). There is a small pool and hot tub. The restrooms/showers and newly remodeled and very nice! Sites are all level and fairly large. We've stayed here 4 times and will be back again!

    Hidden Gem

I loved this place, this hidden gem is located in the in the middle of the city, with the feel of the outdoor. Lots of trees, biking and hiking trails, fishing area, beautiful views, very peaceful, family friendly, pet friendly, the C9 RV spot was very spacious, I also liked the A & B area. Not every site has a fire pit. Definitely coming back again.

    Bolsa Chica State Beach Campground

    Bolsa Chica State Beach

The 4 stars is primarily for location. This is essentially a parking lot with power and water. We had a beach front space (B035) with a decent sized palm tree. The only one I really saw. The spaces aren’t huge so if you have a big rig or large trailer it will be tight. Most trailers parked their tow vehicle perpendicular to the space and some barely fit. There is no privacy, the small concrete area is shared with your neighbors as is the entrance to the beach side. People watching at the boardwalk is amazing. There is live music at the beach bars nearby which was cool. Definitely bring bike. There isn’t a lot within walking distance but downtown Huntington Beach and the pier is just a couple miles away.

    Waterfront RV Park

    Great place by the beach

Your not on the beach but literally on the other side of pacific coast highway you are there. They have smaller options for travel trailers with power hook ups only and pull through and back in sites available with full hook ups. They have a great pool, maintained laundry rooms bathrooms and showers separated by men and woman for that privacy you need. Overall an incredible rv park and very impressed by it being well kept and clean. Not to mention close to the beach

Mountain Lakes Resort - Membership Campground

    Great family friendly place

My wife and I have been coming up here for years. We used to use her parents fifth wheel or use a cabin but recently purchased our own travel trailer. Now we come up here with our kids and I can’t say enough about how family friendly it is.

    Bonita Ranch Campground

    Just ok overall

Needed somewhere fairly close to home to take my new to us motorhome. Sites were decent size but fairly close together so don’t expect a lot of privacy. Sites interspersed among long term residents. Hookups water and electric at each site. Some shade, trails to riverbed currently mostly dry and Bonita falls about 25 minute walk over river rock. Fire rings available to rent for $5. The biggest issue I had was our electric went out to our loop at about 7:30pm…luckily we are self contained…it still had not been restored when we left the next day at noonish. The lights to the office area and restrooms was still on (thankfully) but not the camp sites.

    Orangeland RV Park

    Location!

Stay here every year for dance competitions in Anaheim and Garden Grove. Very reasonable prices for the area. Anaheim transit makes on-demand stops her to Disneyland as well as Garden Walk. Very helpful, friendly staff. Many residents mixed with overnight era or vacationers.

    Pros:

    • The price for the area is worth it!
    • Amazing staff.
    • Free citrus picking!
    • Pool, mini golf on site.
    • Incredibly creak restrooms and showers.
    • Camp store.
    • On-demand public transport for $6/person for all-day access.
    • Walking distance to Big Ed and Honda Center.
    • Along Santa Ana River Trail path that connects beach to San Bernardino Mts.
    • Security at night.
    • Dog runs (kinda stinky, though)
    • Back-in and pull-thru sites (I’d try to stay closer to Struck and the western side)
    • Rules are there to keep things nice and safe.
    • Good wifi

    Cons:

    • Stinky dog runs
    • Street racing nearby at night. Every time.

    Lake Piru Recreation Area

    Lovely get away

Close to town but no cell signal, this place is amazing! Large camping area and I’ve never felt crowded ! Quarter showers and laundry, and a dog park! Lots of deer in the area and Great Lake to fish at! They also offer some hook ups for the rv campers

Guide to Alhambra

RV parks near Alhambra, California sit at the crossroads of urban attractions and natural landscapes with elevations ranging from 300-1500 feet above sea level. Most camping facilities experience a Mediterranean climate with summer temperatures averaging 75-90°F and winter temperatures rarely dropping below 45°F. Campers find a mix of concrete pads and natural settings, with spacing between sites varying dramatically based on location and price point.

What to do

Hiking trails with lake views: At Bonelli Bluffs in San Dimas, campers can access multiple hiking paths with water views. "There is camping, horseback riding, fishing, trails, biking, hiking, picnics, you can use your jet skies in designated areas, swimming on the pool areas, kayaking, Park for kids and plenty more," notes Jessica P.

Explore historic downtown areas: Camp at Hollywood RV Park for easy access to cultural attractions. "We took an uber. If you stay on the West side of the city it's okay (still 50/60 USD) for a single ride. But if you want to explore any of the nicer beaches like Manhattan Beach I do suggest to take the campervan, park at one of the malls in that area and then take an uber from there," recommends Manon S.

Family water activities: Multiple parks offer water recreation options within 30 minutes of Alhambra. "Beautiful views all around Sunrise, Sunset and Night sky. Sights of all kinds of birds like hawks and herons. Water park and mini golf for kids," shares Xochiquetzal G. about Rancho Jurupa Park.

What campers like

Urban camping with surprising quiet: Several RV parks near Alhambra maintain peaceful environments despite urban settings. "This quirky campground was safe, and that was what I needed while visiting friends in LA. The bathrooms and showers were clean and plentiful, there was an area at the back of the park that was fenced for pups," reports Donna H. about her stay at Hollywood RV Park.

Community atmosphere: Rancho Jurupa RV Park offers a welcoming environment for longer stays. "This place was nice. Great sense of community and great placement of the gates for safety purposes. Lots of food spots within 10 minutes. Spaces are one of the cleanest I seen. Ranger is on constant patrol," shares Troy A.

Coastal camping options: For those willing to drive 45-60 minutes from Alhambra, Malibu Beach RV Park provides ocean views. "I have been on a 3 month trip and stayed at 22 different campgrounds. Malibu RV Resort has the best views for the price, hands down," states Michael M. The park prohibits wood fires but allows propane fires at tent sites.

What you should know

Military ID requirements: Seabreeze At Seal Beach requires military credentials despite being listed in regional camping directories. "A well kept secret with one drawback; everyone has to have an ID card to get on the base or be pre approved by base security," explains William M.

Seasonal pricing fluctuations: RV parks near Alhambra often increase rates during peak tourism periods. At many facilities, expect to pay 25-40% more during summer months and holiday weekends compared to off-season rates.

Train noise considerations: Several campgrounds experience railway disruptions. At Thousand Trails Soledad Canyon, "There was however a train that ran around 3:30am every morning that was a disturbance and my Verizon cell service was nonexistent," notes Keisha D.

Tips for camping with families

Water features for kids: Thousand Trails Soledad Canyon offers seasonal pools and water activities. "Second time here and we're enjoying it. It's hot but a fire haze has blocked the sun a bit also the water pad is so fun even for grown ups," shares Sara H.

Group camping challenges: Some parks have limited designated group sites. "Took Girl Scouts here for group camping. Rocky and sand. The family camping was fine! Girls used Porta Potties. I'm hoping they have finished construction on something better since then," reports Janet S. about Rancho Jurupa Park.

Bathroom access restrictions: Note potential facility limitations. At Golden Shore RV Resort, one camper mentioned "Great place to spend the weekend. Close enough to some good shopping and restaurants! Only downside is they lock the bathrooms from 8pm-730am."

Tips from RVers

Site selection priorities: At RV parks Alhambra, California area, request specific areas based on your needs. "Came in for a convention in Ontario, better alternative than Fairplex park. Very spacious and good for big rigs. LOTS of activities for families (splash pad). There's a dump station, but a couple spots with dump but they were always booked," advises Kaitlynn B. about Rancho Jurupa Park.

Limited maneuvering space: Many Alhambra-area RV parks have tight turning radiuses. "No longer a KOA. Spaces are very tight. Good for 1 nite only stay. Staff was friendly and place is clean but not much room to maneuver a lg. rv. in," cautions Lawrence P. about Fairplex RV Park.

RV length restrictions: Rafael's RV Park accommodates only two RVs total and has strict size limitations. Several other parks impose parking fees for tow vehicles that don't fit on assigned sites.
