We came for the memorial day weekend and the week afterwards. The park was full but also still peaceful and quiet in the primitive camping area.

Cheaha is great for year round camping. Some of the states best hiking trails. Best time to hike is Winter (IMO) when the leaves are mostly gone and you have great views all around. Also trails for mtn. biking. Campgrounds are in great shape with clean bath houses. I’ve camped at both lower and…

There is so much to do and see here at the park. For your stay, there is camping, cabins, chalets, and a lodge for accommodations. There is mountain biking and hiking trails, along with a lake to swim, fish and paddle in; and a pool if you are a overnight visitor. There is a camp store onsite…

Had a great time. What was going to be 3 day trip, turned into 6. So many trails and waterfalls to find.
On our trip to Cheaha State Park we stayed in the lower campground, which features very roomy RV sites, some with really nice views, and all with full hookups including power, water, and sewer. There is no cable or wifi available however, and cell service is pretty spotty. There is also an upper…
This site is another of the small backcountry sites along the river between Cheaha Falls and Lake Chinnabee. Make sure to check out my review of Cheaha Falls Campground where I discuss the entire loop and the best times of year to visit. Although this campground isn’t as nice as others in the area…

We had a great time here. Nice large site. Biking was great, good hills a little hard on these novice riders 🤣 there was also a bike trail just outside the gate that was paved and Paralleled a roadway...several geocaches. The city of Auburn was close and beat too. Drank milkshakes on the lawn…
Great memories have been had here.

This site appears to have a platform that was built to set up a tent on where an old building used to stand. The fireplace is the only part that is still in place which would actually be kind of nice to use on a cold night. There are even metal rings installed on the platform that you could use to…

First, check out my video review below since that will give you a good idea of what this site offers. Mostly it is a small clearing off the trail along the creek with a firepit and a space to hang your hammock. I would really say this is a last resort site if none of the others nearby are…

We camped here May 2020 and it was our first trip in the new trailer. Arrived in the fog at night and realized we didn’t have cell service around our site but I was proud that we conquered the backing up and hooking up with no issues. We were impressed by all their new updates to the campground,…
We had such a great time. We stayed at the lower improved campground and enjoyed it. The RV next to us said the upper improved campground is even nicer, but because they are gated, we couldn't drive through to see. Because they are gated, there is little traffic driving through. We enjoyed the…
After seeing so many massive mountains out west this was a little disappointing but still fun!
