Lovely site but no hookups. Personally think ther is plenty of room between sites but then we’ve been in Yellowstone where you can almost touch your neighbor.

Big empty field with plenty of space for campers of any size. They have a vaulted toilet available if needed. The sign says you must register but there is no way to register. Discovery pass required. It’s well off the beaten path, in the middle of farms. There is a river & boat launch that plenty of people occupied but unless you go that way, you’d never know they are there.

If you are navigating the Pacific Northwest corridor or routing toward Glacier National Park along Interstate 84, Boardman Marina& RV Campground is an absolute breath of fresh air. Situated right along the shores of the Columbia River (Lake Umatilla), this park provides an exceptionally scenic, vibrant oasis in Eastern Oregon. During our recent cross-country trek, we booked Site Circle B-24, and it instantly became one of the prettiest waterside stops of our trip.
Campground Setting& Site Quality (Circle B-24)
The immediate standout feature when pulling into this park is just how remarkably lush and green everything is.
- Manicured Grounds: Unlike many high-desert stops in the region, the campground is covered in acres of super green, well-kept lawn. It gives the entire park an open, park-like feel that is easy on the eyes and great underfoot.
- Mature Shade Trees: The property is filled with large, mature shade trees that provide fantastic relief from the summer sun while adding character and privacy to the loops.
- Site Setup: Circle B-24 offered plenty of breathing room, easy hookups, and a level pad. Navigating the circles is smooth, and having wide grassy areas between sites makes relaxing outside your camper door genuinely peaceful.
The Columbia River Experience
The campground sits directly on the banks of Lake Umatilla, turning a routine overnight stay into a true waterfront retreat.
- Riverfront Action: Being right on the water brings great sightseeing opportunities. One of the highlights of our stay was sitting outside the rig and watching a large river cruise boat glide slowly down the Columbia River.
- Family Atmosphere: The energy throughout the park is wonderful. Lots of families were out enjoying the lawns, walking along the shoreline paths, and taking advantage of the marina setting.
- World-Class Sunsets: As evening rolled in, the west-facing river views delivered an incredible show. The sunset reflecting over the wide expanse of the Columbia River was stunning and the ideal backdrop for winding down after a long day of driving.

Whether you are boating, letting kids run free on the grass, or just looking for a calm, scenic rest stop right off the highway, Site Circle B-24 delivers everything a camper could want. Coyote Run RV Park
LOUD, LOUD, LOUD
CG is yards away from the highway on-ramp. Our rig would shake as semis accelerated past. Not to mention the general highway noise. Additionally, there’s a 24 hr fueling stop near the CG, so all night long there are trucks coming and going. CG was tidy, folks were nice, bathrooms were clean-ish. Did I mention it was loud? If you have to stay here avoid east perimeter spots 60-72, they are closest to the highway. I will not stay here again.

Spent three nights here in site 43 which had full hook ups. Beautiful campground with grass everywhere and spaces are far apart from your neighbor. Nice clean showers. Right on the Snake river. About 12 to 14 miles to the nearest town for laundry, groceries, etc. Half price with the America, the beautiful pass.

Like others have said: sites are large all with full hookups. Fun walking trails along the river with Brewery and restaurants at the end. Showers and bathrooms are good. We were in drive thru site 34 on most recent stop. Great marina with ramp and kayak rentals.

Spacious sites: Campers appreciate the generous spacing at Charbonneau Park, particularly in the RV section. "Beautiful and quiet park. Site 14 has water, electric and sewer. Park has a dump station. Using our lifetime senior pass, we paid $12 per night," shares Annell N. Most sites include picnic tables and fire rings.
Accessibility: Umatilla Marina & RV Park offers convenient access just half a mile from I-84. "Just a half mile from I-84, you'll get a little truck noise but was worth the $34 for an overnight stay," reports Ray V. The location balances highway convenience with river access at the marina.
What you should know
Seasonal challenges: Insects can be problematic during warmer months at several dog friendly campgrounds near Wallula. "We camped here May 2016. This park we tried the tent only site and it was a bit of a walk to haul all of our stuff. The trees were in bloom and bugs hatching & swarming, so that was a huge hurdle," explains Nanette C. about Fishhook Park.
