Small and comfy

Not a large campground, spaces are fairly close, enough to hear neighbors conversations….but generally everyone was quiet and considerate. The spot we lucked up on didn’t have much tent room, so it’s perfect for our camper van, but understandable why it was the only one left. Bathrooms are fairly clean with 1 pay shower with privacy door.

Unimpressive WA State Park

Not much space in any campsites we looked at. Site 8 was the one I chose after seeing what was available and assumed it would be fine but we arrived late and set up right next to creepy neighbors. I'm not usually a campground kind of car camper but never being to the area, security of reservations is comforting. The other nice part is showers while camping that you don't have to work for. The only men's shower was dirty as all hell like it hadn't received proper care in many days. Needless to say I decided it wasn't that important two days into a two week road trip.

Great state park

Easy pay station at gate and dump station 32$ for 1 dump. Has a loop trail though the park in dense foliage and goes by the small river in the back of the park. Sites are very secluded from each other very private two group areas.

Private Sites, No Hook-Ups

I've stayed here twice on trips between Missoula and Portland and I love this little gem of a park, right off the highway. There's a little stream to sit or wade, the sites have tall trees and lots of privacy. The camp host was super helpful and suggested some places to check out that I would not have known about otherwise.

Was here once in October and once in September. It's FCFS and I got the same site both times. No hook-ups. Did not use the bathroom either visit.

Hidden gem

We were so surprised by this sweet little area right off our journey south. An excellent place to stop for a hike, camp or just a simple stretch on a long drive. Well maintained, private, clean restrooms and showers

Quick river access

This campground was a really fun trip! We had sites 13 and 14 for 9 total people. If I were to do it again, I’d reserve one additional for that size of group. The campsites were on the smaller size. Site 13 had significantly more shade than site 14. It was very hot when we were there, so we pulled the table from site 14 into 13 and made that our hangout area and put all our tents into site 14. We had cell service here too, although we all kept it in airplane mode.

Best feature: River is so close to hop in. There is no super easy walk in route to the river that we found. You may need to scramble over some stuff, so bring your floaties/chairs, but leave your rolling cooler or wagon at your site. The river is not very deep but that helps keep the temperature at an ideal. I highly recommend making sure you are wearing secure water shoes to help you get in and out. Some rocks were highly slippery.

Con: The bugs. Seriously. We were all eaten alive. We wore bug spray the whole time but it couldn’t keep them at bay. We had mosquitoes for sure but there were other bugs stinging us that left stingers in that we had to pick out... maybe yellow jackets? If you have severe bug allergies, I would not camp here. Bring your bug spray and your cortisol cream for sure.

Short but sweet!

My daughter had a softball tournament in Walla Walla so my sons and I opted out of the hotel and stayed one night at this campground! It was awesome-clean, each space was very private and the restrooms were great. The only thing that bothered us was the mosquitoes! We weren’t expecting that but once the fire got going, they stayed away. It was a short stay, but a great one and we left feeling very rested and happy!

Quiet campground

This campground is small, with about 25 sites. There are individual campsites, 2 group sites, and 2 teepees available for rent. The bathrooms are clean and there is a shower (.50 for 3 minutes) that has hot water. The spaces are fairly private and each have a picnic table and fire pit. There is a river nearby but no access from the campsites directly. Lots of cottonwood trees that so stay away if you have allergies. There were also a ton of mosquitoes. It was quiet and clean but nothing special.

Secluded sites but bummer river

We camped here July 2016. This campground has nice and private sites. The shower is only 1 stall that is a bit rustic. The river at this site is extremely low and has a rocky river bed/"beach". If you sit in the river you can get wet up to your waist but other than that it isn't great for swimming or fishing this time of year.
